Great Rural Scenic Getaway
My husband and I traveled to the area to watch the Maryland 5 Star competition in Fair Hill, MD. It was a quick easy commute to the event. The home was extremely comfortable. All the host’s instructions were spot on. Lots of conveniences packed into this great stay!

Wonderful Stay!
We loved our stay and wish it could’ve been longer! The house is beautifully kept, comfortable, and peaceful. Check-in/out was simple. The surrounding countryside is a perfect backdrop for this quiet place to unwind. We enjoyed meeting the owner, Maureen, who had helpful tips about the area. We loved that the home was stocked with board/card games - we were able to unplug and spend some wonderful family time together!

Perfect stay in a beautiful home
The house was everything listed and much more. The landscaping around the home was beautiful. Very cozy home that reminded me of my childhood home. Location was excellent for sightseeing and visiting our family in a neighboring town. The house was very clean uniquely decorated with lots of family history. We forward to our next stay.

Perfection
Our stay at the farmhouse was amazing. We were not ready to leave and we all wished we had planned more days. Maureen was a fantastic host, offered great suggestions, and was very responsive. Commutation was a breeze. The house was perfect. We loved the charm of the home’s age but also enjoyed the updates. It was incredible to see the horse and buggies pass by. The home was located near everything we wanted to visit. We stayed four nights and were able to see Lancaster, Bird in Hand, Strasburg, Hershey and Gettysburg. Living life at a slower pace was just what we needed. I truly can’t recommend this property enough. It was perfect.

Why they chose this property

My husband and I bought this property in 1990 because it was located next door to our home. This house and our home were originally built by the same family. The guest house was build in 1885 and ours was built in 1890. We have invested 30 years renovating the two properties and 95% of the work we have done ourselves. Some people golf; we renovate!
It was a residential rental home until 5 years ago. All our children are adults and do not live locally. We decided to make it into a guest house for them so when visiting they can spread out and relax with their children.
We have used VRBO type rentals for a number of years when traveling. So it was natural fit to welcome guests a few weeks a year to enjoy our rural farming location.
