Halpern House - Meredith Lodging

The Halpern House is a lovely, 3 bedroom, 2 and a half bath, Dog Friendly, home in a private neighborhood in Seal Rock. The home is built in "reverse living style", to maximize the view! All the bedrooms are on the main level, and the main living areas are upstairs. Vaulted ceilings and many windows add to tons of light! This home is wonderful for a larger family or several couples, or retreats. Kitchen is great for entertaining, and is open to living room and; dining area. Downstairs primary bedroom has a shower in bath. The two guests bedrooms have a full bathroom to share. Home has a path that leads to a fantastic beach! You'll enjoy the beautiful beach, and shorebirds, and can even walk to Seal Rock when tide is out!

Great getaway

Property was exactly as advertised. We had no issues during our mid-June stay. We loved the close and easy beach access and that there were sand toys in the garage. Will book here again!

Beach retreat

Weā€™ve stayed at this location several times. We were informed on the way to the rental that the dishwasher had broken, and then charged for not washing the by hand and they gave no credit for the defective property. We had to spot clean the carpet n arrival due to stains on the carpet. The carpet is white and in poor shape. Itā€™s a good location but the aging home is not well maintained and we will not be using it again due to the poor service.

Would recommend to family and friends

Nice house. Great location. Easy access to beach. Only gave 4 stars for cleanliness due to cobwebs on very high valted ceilings. Only other issue was wall of windows on top floor made it pretty warm, but breeze from open windows cooled it down to tollerable temps. Would stay at this house again and would recommend to friends and family. Property management agency is local to the area and easy to get ahold when needed(reponded timely for the two questions we had).

Nice location

We really liked the location and easy beach access, but this property needs updating. I discussed several issues with property management after our stay, which included ants in the kitchen and a broken dishwasher. There is one tiny television in the large family room with only basic cable. Furniture is old and outdated. Basically, not much effort put into this rental property. Cheap, plastic chairs on the back deck with a peek a boo view of the ocean. Upstairs living space was very hot, with no AC. Just one ceiling fan which didnā€™t help. This property has a lot of potential. The location was quiet and peaceful.

Excellent Vacation House

Large house for our family of 5. Easy access to beach. Partially obstructed beach view but you can still watch the sun set from the porch. We liked all the books and games to look through.

Will not be staying there againā€¦

The house definitely needs a deep cleaning. The ceiling around the ceiling fan had tons of dust hanging off of it as well as the fan, which also made a ton of noise. The window tracks were full of who knows what. The baskets hanging on the master bath walls had at least an inch of dust on them. The deck was a bit unnerving to walk on. The beds were very very uncomfortable, felt the springs inside them while laying down. They were so uncomfortable that our 8 yr old asked if we could go home early so he could sleep in his bed. Iā€™m not sure where the cleaning deposit goes but I donā€™t think the house gets cleaned the way it should for those prices.

Lovely home

The house was clean and very home like. Itā€™s well stocked and just steps to the beach! The beds were clean but too firm for my liking. We had a great stay otherwise.

The staff at Meredith Lodging were great to communicate with.

We were worried about the stairs. But it actually was good exercise for 87 yr old mom. It was great being able to take our dog, no fenced yard, but beach access was close. Was nice having games and puzzles available to play also. And access to washer and drier. And parking inside the garage

Winter Coast Weekend with Friends

I love visiting the Oregon coast in the winter/off season and like to stay a few nights so I can get out of the elements if needed. It was nice to be so close to the beach and also have views of the ocean from the house. The beach was never crowded and sometimes empty - such a treat! I also enjoyed staying in a house for the convenience (e.g., the kitchen) so we could park our cars and not get back in them until it was time to leave.

Great beach getaway

Checking in was simple. Our code did not work but I was able to call the phone number and was given another code with no issues. Home was very welcoming. Overall great stay.

Fun Stay at the Coast

Lovely place and we enjoyed our stay. Spacious house and well stocked kitchen. However, the listing and pictures include a hot tub on the deck which is NOT there. Misleading, took swimsuits for nothing.

Charming house with great ocean views.

We loved our short stay at this property. The home was charming and very comfortable. The ocean views from the deck were amazing. Only regret is that we did not stay longer. We will definitely plan to stay there on our next trip.

Nice secluded beach house

Street was well marked and the house was easy to find. There were plenty of entertainment options available for our rainy day including gaming systems, board games and movie's. Easy check in and quite clean. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with essentials.

Misleading Description-- Not Ocean View

The description of this house online said that it had "amazing views" of the ocean from the dining room, living room, and deck and showed misleading old photos of the view. The ocean view was almost totally obscured by large trees -- only tiny glimpses of the distant ocean were barely visible on the left and right far corners while standing on the deck, and the ocean is not visible at all from the inside of the house. The beach is not visible at all. The carpeting had large stains and badly needed cleaning. The fireplace in the photos had a sign that said "Not for Guest Use" when we got there. I contacted the management company. Merideth Lodging, and was told that any view of the ocean is amazing, and they refused to change the description. I spoke to four different reps from Merideth, and the last rep said that I was hostile and hung up on me. I posted photos of the "amazing view" on my Google review so that others can see what it really looks like standing at the railing from the deck. If I can post them on this review, I will do so also. I have been visiting the Oregon Coast for decades now and never had a problem with the descriptions of any of the rentals we have stayed at over the years. The inaccuracy of the description of this place definitely amounts to false advertising.

Beautiful home, easy walk down to a lovely beach

We just stayed one night but would gladly go back on another trip. Very comfortable and plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed the board games and cooking a meal. Nice to have laundry and two showers. Thanks for sharing your lovely beach home!
