Love location! Found kitchen supplies worn and weathered. Black molding around fidge rubber edge when you open fridge. Kitchen cupboards sticky. Needs deep cleaning. Linens are weathered also. Stains on curtains and bedspread in masterbed room. Otherwise roomy and spacious. Didn't need to use air conditioner, fans worked great!

Great stay at Haleakala Shores

2nd time staying here. Great location and great place to stay on South Maui. Close to everything you need. Only negative is no dish washer, but not that big of a deal!

Excellent location

This property was clean and spacious. All the amenities listed was truly made available to us. The location was best of all, 2 mins walk from the beach; half hour from Costco and Walmart, which helped with the high cost on the island; and lastly it was quiet and felt safe.

We booked this rental for a work and leisure trip. It was reasonably priced for a rental in the island. To our surprise, accommodation and amenities were beyond our expectation.

Central location

Great central location to use as a “jumping off point” to explore the island. A real bargain for 5 of us to sleep comfortably. Lots of road noise, but we were so tired every night, it didn’t matter. If that might bother you, I suggest bringing ear plugs or grabbing a box fan to mitigate that. Great beach right across the road and walking distance to grocery store and restaurants. Overall, we loved it.

A few hiccups

We were so excited to return to Maui and the communication in advance was stellar; however, upon arrival we were very shocked. The room is not really two bedrooms (it's a room divider that makes it a room.) We had to sweep a ton of sand out. When we lifted the rug a layer of sand was below. The internet was faulty for the first 72 hours and the tv is disconnected. It is in Kihei but should be listed as Wailea and wasn't close to anything exciting in Maui. Here the price is what you pay for but we'll stay farther north next time and plan better!

The worst ever!

Rating Details: The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a property that the president of the board of directors feels that it is totally appropriate the assistant property manager to swear at guests! Not once but several times. The property manager does not feel that she should unlock pool gates at appropriate times but on her own time. She doesn’t answer the phone when called nor does she always answer a knock on her door. She says she doesn’t work 24/7.

We as the vacation rental management company, did all we could to try to resolve this in a calm manner. We hope you understand that writing a review about this unit is only detrimental to this unit and our business, not to the Haleakala Shores onsite manager and board of directors. There are other ways to go about voicing your frustrations regarding this condominium complex. Again, we do apologize for the problems you occured while staying in this complex. Just so the public is clear: THIS IS NOT REGARDING KUMULANI VACATIONS. THIS REGARDED ENTIRELY THE ONSITE MANAGEMENT AND CURRENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR HALEAKALA SHORES CONDOMINIUM COMPLEX.

Great location right across from the beach and it had everything we needed to enjoy time by the water: folding chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. Manager/broker (Wendi) was extremely helpful when we ran into booking issues and also accommodated our request for a late checkout when our flight was delayed. Overall, a very positive experience and I highly recommend Kumulani and this property to anyone visiting south Maui.

Large condo

For the price this is a great, large condo. We took a girls trip and had plenty of room. Walking distance to the beach, parking underneath condo, pool, everything as advertised. Would rent this condo again. Loved the numerous beach towels, beach chairs and ice chest.

Perfect location and large condo

We had a great time staying here. It’s an older property, however it’s clean, spacious and has everything we needed to cook and play at the beach. The beach is across the street. There are many places to eat within walking distance. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. It has air conditioning and ceiling fans which was a necessity since it was so hot.

The unit does not have a dishwasher which would have been nice but not the end of the world. The chairs on the lanai were not clean and somewhat below the level of quality found throughout the rest of the unit. Still overall a very pleasant experience and we would consider using this unit on another visit.

Maui 1st time Visitor

Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Accommodations were ok, the balcony was overlooking the road which was very noisey. The maintence crew seemed to be continually on the go whenever we were at the pool, ( ie:,leaf blower, edge trimmers etc ). all day long, from break of day until supper time. The pool area was very well maintained. The TV's in both bedrooms did not work, the owners should spend some money on better pot's, pans and silverware. In need of an update. Manager responded on 3/10/2014: Aloha Linda, Thank You for your comments regarding the Haleakal Shores unit 205B.I am sorry the T.V's were not working. The staff of Kumulani is always available to correct any unfavorable issues with the units. Your observations are shared with our owners and improvements are on going. Great stay, sleep a bit iffy

Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When you first drive up this building looks a little dated and the parking spaces are pretty snug, but the unit is well appointed with a freshly remodeled kitchen and everything one would need for a day at the beach, towels, chairs, umbrella,cooler etc. the pool is in a beautifully landscaped enclosure and is very nice. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable. The only thing that really needs to be addressed to make this condo perfect is the mattresses . They are extremely uncomfortable, like you'll wake up with a stiff back IF you manage to sleep. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would use this condo again.
