Tahiti, the port of entry of French Polynesia is linked by non stop scheduled flights to Los Angeles, NZ, Japan, Hawaii, Australia and with one stop to Paris and most European cities. From Tahiti, a 45-minute-flight takes you to Bora Bora.
The internal airline company in French Polynesia is AIR TAHITI. There are 9 flight connections per day between Tahiti and Bora Bora.
The plane from Tahiti lands in Bora Bora on Motu Mute, an offshore islet. Then a free shuttle brings you across the lagoon to VAITAPE, Bora Bora's main village. On the wharf in Vaitape, my local correspondents wait for you to give you the key of the car and of the house. They drive you to the house.
Because there is no public transport service on Bora Bora, you need to rent a car to be independant on the island during your stay . It is essential to go shopping, to go to the restaurant or to visit Bora Bora. Since the car rental companies are very expensive on the island, we offer a car rental service exclusively dedicated to the guests of the Villa (automatic gearbox). The rates are unbeatable! Way below the rates of rental companies on the island.
Feel free to ask for this service when booking your stay!

My boyfriend and I are world travelers and decided to pick Villa Vahimanui based on the beautiful pictures and the wonderful reviews from other travelers. The pictures do not do this villa justice. The view of the lagoon from the living room windows and the lanai are absolutely stunning. The condo was very clean, well-maintained, has wireless internet and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom is the only air-conditioned room in the villa, which is fine since we spent majority of our time exploring the island. There are fans in all other rooms of the villa which kept the place cool during the heat. The rental also comes with a car, which was necessary. We drove to Vaitape and went to the grocery store (Super U) and got everything we needed for simple breakfasts and lunches. We ate dinner out every night. In an email Pierre left many great restaurant recommendations. We ate at almost all of them, with MaiKai, St. James and Bloody Mary's being our favorites. The experience of Bloody Mary's was incredible. You walk on a sand floor and the menu of the day's catch is displayed in front of you on ice. You put your order in directly with the chef. Maikai and St. James are more upscale than Bloody Mary's. Both have incredibly delicious food! We recommend all three of them!
Pierre is a wonderful host. He went to great lengths to make sure or stay was perfect. During our booking, he answered our many questions in a timely manner, and provided a detail description of what we were looking for. Prior to our departure, Pierre sent us a map of how to find the condo and a detailed list of all the great restaurants and excursions to check out. His two correspondents, Nathalie and Barthélémy were absolute GEMS. They picked us up from the airport after you take the free shuttle across the lagoon, and dropped us off. Nathalie speaks great English and answered all of our questions. She explained the entire villa and made great recommendations about what to do and where to go. Barthélémy stopped by every now and then and gave us fresh fruits from the trees. They were delicious!
We did 3 excursions while we were there: scuba diving, shark/stingray romantic tour, and 4x4/jet ski tour. We did the 2 tours through Moana Adventures. Glenn was fabulous during our shark/sting ray tour and Alex/Nico were just as wonderful during the 4x4/jet ski tour. We did scuba diving through Eleuthera Diving.
Thank you for a wonderful stay Pierre! The villa is highly recommended!
My husband and I wanted a special place to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary and we decided on Bora Bora and better yet...we picked Villa Vahimanui. Villa Vahimanui by far lives up to the picturesque scenery you would see on a screen saver. This was our third trip to a tropical paradise and I would contend that it rivals an all-inclusive resort. The condo was very clean, well-maintained, with WiFi and comfortable furnishings. The listing is very accurate about what you will find. The view from the balcony was unparalleled (soft sea breezes, palm trees and a beautiful lagoon in front of you). Pierre is an absolute wonderful host. He went to great lengths to make sure our stay was perfect, and it was. Prior to our departure, Pierre sent us a map, a PDF of a full listing of tips about day trips, groceries, boat tours, etc. It gives you all sorts of information about Bora Bora, restaurants, local attractions and excursions. Pierre was timely with communicating with us before and after our trip. Nathalie, who looks after Pierre's condo, is a JEWEL. She is on site daily, always had a smile on her face, answered all our questions and gave us suggestions on places to go and things to do. Nathalie made us feel extremely welcome. The condo is located about 6 miles from Vaitape, which has lots of restaurants, 2 grocery stores and is where you can catch a ferry to other islands. We did 2 excursions while there, one day sail and one day trip to Raiatea. I would highly recommend both. I cannot say enough great things about our stay at Pierre's condo and Bora Bora. We will definitely be going back soon. Thanks again Pierre!
My husband and I recently spent a week in Bora Bora and have a difficult time finding the right words to describe our stay. We arrived on the island early in the day and Nathalie, the property manager, was gracious enough to allow us to drop our luggage off earlier than check-in time while we explored the island. Villa Vahimanui is absolutely fantastic!! From the beautiful view, the wonderful furnishings and amenities, its convenient location, everything about this home is the best! We loved the lanai and the stunning view! We enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the house as well. We traveled throughout the island and found the location to work very well for us. The villa is just a few miles from Vaitape where you have a couple of great restaurants: Saint James, Mai Kai and Lucky House. The owner was very prompt in responding to questions and was very helpful with suggestions regarding our visit. Excellent service in every way. We would highly recommend this vacation home and hope to return there in the near future ourselves. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Thank you so much Pierre for making our stay in Bora Bora so memorable! Pierre was a pleasure to work with and communication was flawless during the process. I still can't get over how awesome everything turned out. The condo was great! We loved the spaciousness and the efforts to provide all the comforts of home : open concept living - so airy and calming, huge patio, well-equipped kitchen, nice and comfortable furniture, tv, internet, etc. I honestly felt that we had everything we needed. The area was very quiet and perfect to relax. We spent many afternoons having lunch and drinks out on the patio. The views were incredible! Of course, we spent hours on Matira beach and on « motu Topua ». A treat ! Lots of shallows and plenty of places to snorkel. For anyone who enjoys snorkeling - you have access to a series of reefs teaming with gorgeous colorful fish just a quick swim directly out from the beach! We wouldn't have been able to enjoy the island as much if we hadn't rented a car (Pierre’s car is perfect). The property managers who met us were outstanding: they are extremely helpful and made arrangements for us to enjoy excursions like a private sailboat and snorkeling experience that we saw mentioned in a very helpful "Bora Bora Activities" manual provided by Pierre. They even fetched us fresh coconuts from the trees on the property! This home was a little piece of paradise and we enjoyed our stay there immensely. Gorgeous, safe, fun, comfortable and relaxing: the perfect vacation!
My husband and I stayed at the condo for 4 nights. The view was spectacular, the condo was spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. The manager Natalie was very nice when we arrived. She and her husband picked us up, drove us through the town, told us about the stores and restaurants. They also helped us to carry our suitcases to the condo.
The reasons I give 3 stars is because the following:
1, in the condo only master bedroom had air condition. Two of the days were very hot. We had to stay in the bedroom for most of the time. The bedroom had a very low ceiling. It was very uncomfortable to spend many hours in there.
2, the place is very noisy. Construction is going on most of the time during the days
3, the drive way and the path to the condo are extremely steep. It is difficult to carry things up and down. We dropped our water bottle by accident and it rolled all way down to the bottom of the hill. It can be dangerous if you fall. You may roll down the hill as
4, the thing upset us the most is that the manager took the rent car away before the end of our time. we rented the car from the owner along with the condo. We were told that we should return the car when we check out. The check out time was 10:00am. However, the day before the check out the manager called and said she needed to clean the car for the next guests. We told her that it is ok but she needed to come back before 9:00 so we can move our laugage with the car down to the main road and go to our boat tour. However, she did not come back until 9:45. Since the boat was waiting for us, we had to struggle to carried small items down. When she was back, we asked to have the car back so we could move the rest laugage. However, she said that we could not have the car back. There was no way for us to carry all our laugage down to the hill. It was just too dangerous. At the end she asked a neighbor to give us a ride who was happen going out. It was a very strange practice and very unpleasant experience.
Villa Vahimanui is one of the best rental properties we have visited. The listing is very accurate and the web site photos are beautiful but just do not do the property justice. We loved everything about it : the beautiful deck, the air-conditioned bedroom, the cleanliness, the quiet and peacefulness, the proximity to Vaitape, the privacy, the stunning and majestic views ! The villa offered all the comforts of home away from home at no additional or hidden cost/charge. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all essential cooking supplies. Pierre (owner) was a tremendous help from the time we connected with him on VRBO through his follow-up after we returned. He was responsive, encouraging and helpful in emailing and advising us on best ways to travel and make necessary arrangements. Nathalie and Barthelemy, his caretakers, are wonderful people and a delight to talk with. They know everything about Bora Bora. We enjoyed our time on Matira beach, which was never crowded, there was so much to do in the area (feeding the fish and snorkeling was a daily activity !!). If your desire is to escape the busy city life and pamper yourself in a scenic, relaxing, and tranquil environment, this should be your destination choice. We have already recommended the property to many of our friends. We would not hesitate to return again. Many thanks to Pierre, Nathalie and Barthelemy for sharing this marvelous vacation Villa!
