Private, view apartment just steps from Green Lake! Modern 900 square foot above-ground, full-floor basement suite with private entrance. Cook's kitchen, private patio with unobstructed lake view (including Adirondack chairs, Weber grill, etc), two bedrooms with closets, full bath, laundry room, and well-equipped for young families. On East Green Lake Way, quietly above street level, with ample side-street parking. Short walk to restaurants, buses, and more!

Feedback: please see our reviews -- all are 5-stars with the exception of 1 at 4-stars! We focus on creating comfortable, relaxing, and private accommodations for groups/familes of 2-4, definitely including children.

This 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment will give you the experience of living in Seattle. Located right across the street from Green Lake Park, you can jog the 2.7 mile inner loop, walk to great restaurants or catch public transportation (bus #62 or #26) to downtown. Very family-friendly apartment!

The apartment is well equipped for cooking if you feel like taking in the view from the front porch. It's also set up well for kids. The front bedroom was designed for them with toys, books and a queen size bed. The rear bedroom was set up with relaxation in mind and also has a queen size bed.

Basic supplies (salt, pepper, coffee and filter, tea, laundry detergent and dryer sheets) come with your stay. If you need anything extra or would like to stock your fridge with other basics before you arrive, please let us know. We are here to help make your stay feel as close to home as possible.

Parking is always easily available beside the house along 65th.

About Paul

We bought the house a while ago and completely remodeled it with an above-ground basement apartment by design. The basement is completely new (the house was lifted, and a new foundation and floor put in). After several long term renters, we decided to try renting the space short term so that we could use it when family was in town. So here we are on VRBO sharing our space with visitors near and far to enjoy everything Seattle has to offer.

Paul and I (Susan) both work at the local aerospace company and have 2 wonderful children (13 and 11). We enjoy traveling, playing tennis, golf (Paul), running and biking (Susan), and just hanging out at the lake. Paul is a mezcal enthusiast and I love to cook and bake. We enjoy hanging out with friends, sharing good food and spirits.

As for interaction, our first priority is to respect your privacy. We absolutely stay as quiet as possible in the evening and early in the morning when we have guests (and we are typically out during the days). Above the apartment is our main floor (kitchen and living area), and then above that is the top story with our bedrooms. As such, noise has not been an issue with our guests. All that said, feel free to knock on our door if you need anything at all, and we are happy to have a chat anytime!

Why Paul chose Green Lake

Compared to other Green Lake properties, this is as close to the park as you can get, is higher above the street, is as modern a space as any, is private (separate entrance, etc.), has two separate bedrooms (and many great amenities, including laundry, cook's kitchen), and is very well equipped for kids. It is decidedly different from the "rental hotels" that are sprouting up in Seattle neighborhoods to cheaply accommodate less-discerning tourists.

Within a 15 minute walking distance to great restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and entertainment.

Metro bus line #62 to downtown and Magnuson Park within 1 block. Bus line #26 to downtown and Northgate Mall within 3 blocks. Bus line #45 to University of Washington and light rail station within 4 blocks.

What makes this apartment unique

You have your own WiFi network available (free), as well as cable TV (including premium channels -- HBO, etc.). We also have many DVD movies available for kids and adults.

Perfect! Nothing could have made it better ! Great location !

Before we arrived Paul contacted us and made checking in a breeze ! Before we arrived on Christmas Eve he contacted us several times to update us on the road conditions since it snowed about 2-3 inches ! Beautiful ! When we entered the appartment there were aroma of CLEAN!

Yes ! My kind of place ! Flowers and chocolates and fresh ground coffee !

Everything you could possibly need for the kitchen to cook full meals . We had Christmas dinner with 6 quests . We only had 4 chairs so Susan the owner offered to go get us 3 extra chairs from upstairs at their place. So accomadating ! Appreciated this so much !

The view of the lake is right there ! From the whole front of the appartment. We enjoyed having our private entrance also .

Paul and Susan never checked in with us let us have our own privacy. We had a busy week so we never got a chance to visit and talk with them even though we were invited too.

My son lives in walking distance from there at green lake so this was a perfect location.

The town of greenlake is a short 5 min walk from the appartment where you can enjoy restaurants shops etc. couldn't ask for more. The bus stop that takes you into Seattle is located there too.

If you have children you will love how they have everything you need for them. Toys , high chairs , arts and crafts pack and play , you name they have it!

Our beds were also comfy , bedrooms were roomy not small and stuffy .

The bathroom was updated and very nice tiled . Private washer and dryer was a plus for there a whole week. The paper goods were fully stocked

Making it nice to not run out!

We will definitely return SOON!

Very nice property.

Great Location - Good for kids

Clean, well kept, well stocked. Really awesome location on Green Lake- walking distance to coffee & food. Lots of toys and kid accessories.

Only knock for us was that we were on East Coast time with two little kids and the upstairs had also been rented to a family (on West Coast time) with kids and it was quite loud at times. Our kids dealt OK but was tough on my wife and me to get restful sleep given the time difference.

I suspect when the Owners are occupying above they are far more sensitive to their impact on their renters below. In any event Paul was super responsive to the few issues we had. Chocolate and wine left for us was a thoughtful touch after a really long trip with little kids.

In this (one-time) case, we had let a displaced family stay upstairs in our space over Thanksgiving, while we were away, and I gather dinner and their kids resulted in some evening noise -- for which we are sorry. I would encourage potential guests to see our other reviews, to review the description of our house (designed and built for privacy and quiet for our guests), and to please ask any and all questions you may have! Wonderful location, classy property

Wow what a view from this rental! Very quiet place except for one squeaky floorboard above that we only heard occasionally from one bedroom. We appreciated having privacy without feeling like the owners were always around. The website photos don't quite do justice to the view or the nice furnishings---nice quality to everything there (plush towels, lovely bathroom tile, warm comforters, good coffee, etc.). It was great that a natural foods market was a short walk away.

great property for the month of august.

This prop is well run with all the necessary items for a long term stay . Great for our 4 year old twins when they come over. Toys etc and kid friendly house. Good when the weather was in the 80s . Still cool all day. Great location for the morning walks and eve. dinners. It is a 5 star for a Prof. who expects first rate places[fussy].
