Located down a long private country road, the Smiling Fox Den is a perfect weekend or week long getaway. This spacious 4 bedroom , 3 bath home can accommodate 8 guests comfortably with 2 living areas and large patio w/large pool for outdoor entertaining or just hanging out. Note that the "jacuzzi" is extra seating and not heated. This home is perfect for a girls/guys retreat, a family get together and small weddings. Located just 5 minutes to downtown La Grange and 15 minutes to enjoy antique shopping.

The Den was amazing!

Our overall stay at the Den was amazing, the house and the property was top notch as well as the communication/assistance from the host. I will definitely be back and refer to family and friends. The Den is the place to be.

We booked to stay in the area during the Round Top Antiques market. it was nice to get away from the craziness of Round Top at the end of the day. We enjoyed the layout of the house - there was room for working, dining and relaxing. we also enjoyed all the art pcs around the house - . the bonus were the deer on the lawn in the morning and the longhorns at the end of the driveway. so fun!! Lezlie was super easy to communicate with . we would love to come stay here again.

Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect getaway for a few days. The property is very calm and peaceful with lots of wildlife to view. The kids had a great time relaxing in the pool.

Relaxing & Enjoyable

Beautiful home. Has everything you would want or need. Kitchen well stocked. Loved the pool area!! Host was wonderful. This is our place anytime we find ourselves in La Grange, TX.

Great stay!

The pictures don’t do this place justice! The whole family enjoyed it. We fished, swam, cooked, enjoyed the peace and quiet, and slept well. Everything we could have needed was there. It truly is a wonderful place and we all want to go back for another stay. Lezlie was responsive and a great host:) Book it and enjoy!

Rare find!

Our group has been girl tripping for 20 years and the Smiling Fox is our favorite spot. Lovely home, pool, and setting. Best stocked VRBO we’ve ever stayed in. Welcoming and helpful host. When 7 retired teachers have no complaints, you know it’s a gem!

So glad we found this place!

Spent a wonderful long weekend here with family and friends. It was the perfect place to stay for Roundtop/Warrenton shopping. Nice, clean, comfortable and so many special touches. Host and hostess were quick to respond to our needs and questions, and they were always so gracious to us (even when we locked ourselves out of the house). Would definitely go back!

Beautiful and peaceful

We had a wonderful time with family. Lezlie was very accommodating when we needed something but, otherwise, left us to have our time together. The pool was great and there was plenty of space for our family of 8. Thank you, Lezlie!

Peaceful

Came to La Grange for a wedding and wanted a place close to the town, yet quiet. This place did not disappoint! We had everything we needed and room to spread out with all the bedrooms and multiple gathering rooms. Loved the cattle next to the property, too!

Great Place for Girls Long Weekend

We really loved this property! The weather could have been better but that didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves. The owners were quick to respond to any questions/requests we had. We exchanged Christmas gifts early and had a nice surprise to find the owner had made us little Christmas stockings filled with little goodies.

Family Christmas gathering

The house and space was the perfect place for our family gathering. The house was just as described. Very spacious, beautiful pool and surrounding land. Watched deer pass through the yard every evening. We loved the eclectic decor, and the spacious, comfortable and clean bedrooms and bathrooms. There was plenty of room for all. Leslie was very attentive at check-in, during our stay, and on departure. If you’re looking for a secluded, yet close to town, cozy and spacious home to rent, look no further.

Peaceful country place

Our family all enjoyed this lovely place in the quiet country side but close to LaGrange for shopping or eating out. Check out the small town of Winchester and eat at Murphy’s steakhouse. Excellent. The pool was so nice and clean and the grandchildren loved it. Thank you Leslie for your hospitality and checking on us to see if we needed anything. I recommend this lovely place to anyone wanting to relax and enjoy peaceful serenity. ❀

Plan to return!

Private setting. Best outfitted home we’ve ever stayed in our 20 years of girl trips. Beds comfortable. Sparkling pool. The only neighbors we saw were deer and long horn cattle. The owner was helpful, prompt with requests, and unobtrusive . This was our second time to stay at the Smiling Fox Den, but it won’t be our last. We are all grateful to have discovered this gem.

Great Friends Getaway

We had a wonderful long weekend at Lezlie's ranch house. We spent most of our time in the beautiful backyard and pool. It was perfect for socializing and enjoying the beautiful scenery, which included longhorns, deer and rabbits! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals and snacks. House comfortably slept seven adults. This is a great place to relax and simply enjoy being with family and friends. Thanks, Lezlie, for being so helpful. We'll be back!

Wonderful, Quiet Getaway

We spent the weekend at the Smiling Fox Den after our daughter's Friday night wedding in La Grange. It was just like home with our daughter/son-in-law & grandkids and son/fiance just hanging out and catching our breath after the festivities. The house is spacious, warm & fully equipped and it reminded me a little of the farmhouse I grew up in. Both grandkids enjoyed some time in the pool, and our grandson caught a bunch of bass fishing at the pond. We all also enjoyed several long walks around the property. "The Den" is a terrific choice for families or couples seeking a peaceful getaway in the country!

Family Wedding Bells

We came to La Grange for a family wedding. The home was better than the pictures. Clean and so easy to fit right in. We had a diverse group when we booked the hone ages ranging from 10 to 90! However not all could make the trip - BUT we still had a blast and it would have been a perfect fit of they did come. The 10yr old loved the pool, adults thought it was a lil chilly. Great location from Round Top where all the wedding events took place. Will definitely book again when wr go back that way!
