About Susan Rich

I have lived in the Florida Keys for over 35 years, as I say, "I live and love the Florida Keys!" I love the water and everything about it. If you have never been here, you will fall in love, if you have been here, you know what I'm talking about...

Susan Rich purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Susan Rich chose Big Pine Key

My personal home is on the open water on Little Torch, this location is a straight shot to Looe Key Reef, for some of the best snorkeling, diving and fishing. And if you're just out for a boat ride and a relaxing day with friend, you are close to Marvin Key and the Content Keys.

The “love shack” is just that

  • 3 of 5

This is a basic no frills beach cabin. It’s in a good area with easy drives to everything in the keys. It’s clean it has the basics but it is older and needs some TLC. The mattress in the bedroom needs replaced it has a 3” center grove. Thankfully it was cool enough that we did not need to run the AC in the bedroom because it was noisier than a jet (coming from someone who is hearing impaired). Lastly the steps need a rail as they are not safe. All in all it’s a nice little place that could be A lot better with a little work. I also understand that given what they probably had to replace due to the storm. Their budget may have been limited. Would I rent it again yes if I knew these issues had been fixed.

The cottage was cute and very clean. The location was great and the property view is great. We enjoyed the kayaks that were there and the mangrove area. We would love to stay here again.

I

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself & our Maltipoo Jojo stayed in cottage nbr 1. It had plenty of room and was well equipped. My husband went fishing on the canal near the bridge with the kayak, which was very convenient! Stores and restaurants were in close proximity. Overall we had a very nice, relaxing experience. Thank You

Perfect getaway for our small family. Big grassy yard and clean inside. Beautiful sunrises. The neighborhood has made tons of progress with storm clean up. Feels like the keys.

Located in the heart of the fabulous Florida Keys, you have access to the best fishing, snorkeling and diving right at your back door. We have our very own reef, Looe Key, which offers some of the best snorkeling and diving in the United States and is a 20 minute boat ride from Little Torch Key. And for a little entertainment, Key West is just a short drive south, or take the shuttle. There are many restaurants in Key West to suite any palate, several museums and attractions, and don't forget those world famous bars. If you go north, you will find Marathon Key, there are also beaches, restaurants, and many attractions here.
