About this property

5 mins to old town beach, next to swimming pool, 2 bedrooms, sea views, air con

It has always been our dream to have a 2nd family home based in Albufeira’s Old Town and we are so chuffed that we bought this apartment at the end of 2017 from Philipa & Keith. We both love it as does our 3 year old son. We have spent over 10 years visiting and working in the town, so it really is home from home for us.

The apartment is situated in an aparthotel on a hillside with great views of the Old Town, Fisherman's Beach and out over the Atlantic. There is a nice south facing balcony which is ideal for soaking up the sun, relaxing, admiring the view, or eating al fresco.

The apartment is very family friendly as the balcony is on the ground floor not up high, there is no big drop. The balcony is also gated and the wall comes up to around hip height.

The outdoor salt water swimming pool is just out of the balcony gate and down a few steps.

Within the apartment you will find our visitor pack giving you details of great places to eat and visit during your stay.

We also provide a welcome pack enabling you to have a hot or cold drink on arrival and settle in with the essentials before having to rush out to the supermarket.

There is also a TV offering a wide range of English TV channels, over 800 movies and all the football you could ever want, plus we have free Wi-fi.

The Montechoro Strip and world class golf courses are a short cab or Uber ride away.

We can also arrange competitive private airport transfers for you, all vehicles have Wi-fi and air con.

Our main bedroom has a super king sized luxury bed with the brand new mattress supplied by Hilton hotels.

Because we have been travelling with our son, the apartment has a high chair, travel cot, Tommy Tippee perfect prep machine and a bottle brush.

We try to ensure that we look after our guests and cater to their every need.

We hope you enjoy your time here as much as we do, and want to come back time and time again.

Lovely place

Myself along with 3 friends stayed here for a long weekend to attend a wedding. The apartment was lovely, it had a great pool and perfect walking distance to old town. The owners Matt and Lisa were fantastic from the moment I booked with great communication. They happily answered any questions I had and helped book our airport transfers (who were also very reliable).

Happiness is a home away from home!

The view was amazing! Lots of exercise walking to and from the property (very steep hill). Brightness inside and outside always. Ample escapes from the heat by the way the rooms are laid out. Comfortably equipped kitchen. Great place to stay, would highly recommend it.

Excellent location for Old Town and surrounding area . Nice view overlooking the old town , not quite high up enough to see the beaches . Excellent king bed . Our only issue was possibly an upgrade in a coffee maker , and pots and pans , and access to the unused ping pong and pool rooms , in case of rainy days . All very minor issues really .

The apartment was in a lovely location. Very well equipped apartment. Lovely and comfortable. Had one power cut, knocked out the TV, rang Matt he told me how to fix it in seconds. Great response. Charged for new drawers we supposedly left a mark on

On arrival balcony dirty and needed weeding but we swept up n overlooked this. 1st time using kitchen sink noticed a leak underneath. We tightened pipe work and again thought nothing more about it. 1st night having showers only 2 of us managed to shower before water turning cold as we did not realise it came from a water tank. Iron and ironing board broken, replacement iron sent the following day. During our stay we experienced numerous power cuts which left us unable to use our phones or have a hot shower. However after our departure we began receiving messages asking about a stain on top of a chest of drawers. We informed them we had no recollection of seeing or causing this, but despite this we were charged £80 for a new set of drawers. We feel this was unjustified as they were already well worn and from the picture they sent of the faint mark it looked like they could easily have painted over the top of it, as we'll as the numerous issues we encountered with the property that we didn't make an issue of. We have been coming to Portugal for a number of years now and this the 1st property we have ever had a poor experience with and would not return to.

Lesley, we were so chuffed you chose to stay at our property. I appreciate you have left a bad review simply because of the fact you were charged for damaging the property. The comments in which you have left you were unable to back up with evidence, which we asked for, also the review you left in our guest book in the apartment was positive, which proves you have left an untrue review. I’m deeply sorry there were a few power cuts, this is way beyond our control and was because the electricity company were doing work outside at the time. As explained we only charged you HALF of what it’s going to cost us to fix the damage which was caused as a gesture of good will (because of power cuts that again were out of our control) If you look at the other reviews, you’ll noticed you’re the only negative one. This again is due to the property being damaged and you being charged. I’m very saddened that you have done this

Great Stay Near Old Town

Our stay here made our visit to Albufeira so wonderful. The proximity to the beach and Old Town were perfect for our family. The master bedroom was great to give us adults some space, the kids loved the pool and view couldn't be beat. Communication with the hosts was awesome and they provided so much helpful information. Het appartement van Matt en Lisa is ruim en modern ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. De airco in alle kamers is heerlijk. Het uitzicht op de stad is prachtig. Het zwembad is ruim en de ligstoelen waren nooit vol. Vanuit het terras van het appartement ben je zo bij het zwembad. De geluiden die uit de stad komen, hoor je in de slaapkamers niet. Het oude centrum is op prima loopafstand. We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad! Het appartement is echt aan te bevelen.

Fabulous apartment and hosts

We have used a lot of homeaway properties and yours is one of the best. We loved the communication, the welcome pack and all the information. It’s these things that make the difference. We used the discount cards which saved us a lot of money. Thank you. In the place we stayed in before we got to yours, there was no information at all about the apartment or the surroundings. Your bed was so comfortable and your towels just the right size! 😂😄

Quiet apartment

Lovely quiet apartment with pleasant sea water pool.Great location not too far from the Old Town but a bit uphill.The facilities were good and comfortable but on those hotter days would benefit from a/c. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment,a quiet oasis in the thick of things.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with Albufeira when staying at a friend's apartment and immediately bought one in the same complex. The apartment is on a hill overlooking the Old Town, Fishermans' Beach and the sea. It has a beautiful view and a large balcony on which to enjoy it. The Old Town and Beach are around 5 minutes' walk away and the Strip with its bars and Karaoke clubs is also a short taxi ride away. This means you can enjoy all that Albufeira has to offer, but are far enough away that you can close out the nightlife and get a good nights sleep! Albufeira has two distinct faces: the heat with the hustle and bustle of summer and the cool quieter winter months. I love them both!

What makes this property unique

My apartment is large and airy with its beautiful views. Guests that have stayed comment on how comfortable and homely it is as well as how spacious. They love relaxing in the sitting room, or sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. It is only a few steps away from the pool and the balcony is large enough to sunbathe with a separate area to sit in the shade and eat alfresco!

The apartment is refreshed and maintained by our English friends who live nearby and are only a quick phone call away. Faro airport is about 30 minutes away and with a flight of around 2 and a half hours from London, it is such an easy journey.

The apartment complex is gated and there is CCTV on both apartment entrances to for your safety.
