An Excellent weekend
A very large country house with the original features. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment to cook and serve to a large group of people and the reception rooms large enough for a family gathering. We were very pleased to see enough wine glasses for a toast.
Thank you for this review and I'm very pleased that you all had an enjoyable celebration at Hafod Grove.
Large but drab
The property was large enough for a big family weekend but very drab inside - worse outside . It felt like a boarding house for a school outing . It needs some updating .
Great place to stay.
Great house for a large group. We were 16 ages ranged from 31/2 up to 79. Very comfortable beds, plenty of room for everyone. Excellent showers and plenty of hot water. Only a couple of niggles with the stove - not all the hot plates worked, neither did the grill. Also the first aid kit was totally inadequate-ie virtually non existent. However, otherwise it was the perfect holiday house for us, close to the wonderful beaches, plenty to see and do, lots of garden for the children to run around in. The consensus was that it was a brilliant holiday.
Excellent property for large groups
We had a wonderful stay at Hafod Grove. The house is in an ideal location to explore the surrounding areas, particularly the coves around Ceiwbr Bay.
Josy was brilliant - helping us plan our stay and also including a thorough information pack. The house is bright, clean, spacious and with all the amenities you need to make your stay comfortable.
Thank you for this lovely review - I'm so pleased that you had a fab time at Hafod Grove and all went to plan. Mel and Lauren the Housekeepers say thankyou for leaving the House in good shape! Hopefully we shall see you all again in the future.
We had a fantastic family weekend with every facility we needed.
Hafod Grove House was a very spacious property with every facility we needed. Just had a problem with hot water for the showers but it didn’t spoil a lovely bank holiday weekend. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Thank you for this great review, apologies about the hot water - it's a mystery I shall get Dave the plumber to investigate but it would have been easy to fix I'm sure. Anyway I am relieved it wasn't a problem and hopefully we shall see you again at Hafod Grove
Best Wishes and thanks,
very comfortable and interesting
The accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable, with plenty of bathrooms for a large group and good cooking and eating facilities. All equipment was of a high standard and worked well. Because we were out in the daytime over the weekend, we did not use the patio, garden and outdoor areas. The property was well maintained and the owner was most helpful before the visit, with contact by phone and email, to make sure all went well. It is an excellent base for a large group holiday and great for photography. We visited Ceibwr Bay and Poppit Sands, Nevern Church, St Dogmael's Abbey, the Welsh Wildlife Centre, Cenarth Falls, Cardigan, Aberaeron and Newquay - all good places for photography and interesting historically, but there were far more places to see if we had stayed longer. We ate at the Ferry Inn, St Dogmael's and across the estuary at the Gwbert Hotel, both very good food and pleasant atmosphere. It would be a great place for an extended family holiday too, as there is plenty for children to do in the area.
Thank you Margot for this lovely review as it makes all the behind scenes hard work worthwhile. I'm so pleased that your stay was a success and enjoyable despite the one week's delay due to snow. Hopefully you all now have some very interesting photographs as a result. I'm sure many future guests will be encouraged to follow in your footsteps and visit the places suggested. I do hope that we shall see some if not all of your group some time in the future.
Thank you again and Best Wishes,
