Delightfully maintained bungalow on the Mayo coastline just before the popular village of Murrisk. The setting of the bungalow is breathtaking and peaceful, whilst being within easy reach of the lively town of Westport. There is a dining pub within a 15 minute walk and a further pub offering food within a 20 minute walk. Westport itself contains many interesting shops and fine restaurants, specialising particularly in seafood and many traditional pubs, all providing a friendly ambiance. The town plays host to a variety of festivals throughout the year. Many hotels have pools and gyms open to the public. The village of Murrisk has an outstanding location between the shores of Clew Bay and the majestic mountain of Croagh Patrick, known locally as 'The Reek'. Overlooking the sea is the dramatic National Famine Monument. In the 1400s an abbey was found at Murrisk and is renowned amongst pilgrims worldwide as the starting point for the ascent of Croagh Patrick. Links are in place with a hotel in Westport for reduced price swimming. In addition a swim and dine option is available whereby the price of the swim will be taken from the cost of dining at the hotel.

About MRS ANNETTE SCOLES
Our holiday home is very special to us as the land it stands upon has been in our family for over 60 years. I have family living in the area and have been visiting Murrisk for over 50 years. We never tire of the outstanding views from the house and watching the colours change, often from minute to minute. It is quite breathtaking. At the same time, we benefit from being very close to all the amenities of Westport and being within a 15 minute walk of two excellent dining pubs.
MRS ANNETTE SCOLES purchased this Bungalow in 1960
Why MRS ANNETTE SCOLES chose County Mayo
The home and land has been in the family for three generations.
What makes this Bungalow unique
We thoroughly enjoy the peace and tranquility afforded by the outstanding views. The colours of the bay have to be observed whatever the weather. It is equally as wonderful at night with the lights twinkling across the bay.

Visiting the wonderful west coast of Ireland
We drove away from the night ferry from Liverpool through the dark streets of Dublin and after various mishaps arrived in Westport about 4pm. We were very glad to have the directions to Redrianne as I think we passed the entrance about four times before realising where it was! By the end of our stay we had worked out the various landmarks to look out for. The bungalow was lovely with lots of space and very well equipped. We liked the kitchen/livingroom and used this room most of the time even though the view from the sittingroom was so beautiful overlooking at Clew Bay. We had a bedroom each - my husband is fairly large and the beds were too small for two of us. It was nice having the two bathrooms. We didn't manage to contact Isabelle, the caretaker, maybe because of our mobile connections and missed the bin collection day.
We loved Westport and Louisburgh, particularly the little supermarket in Louisburgh where the staff were so nice and friendly and the lunches were wonderful. We found wonderful beaches there, more or less completely deserted. We went across to Clifden - what a wonderful trip through the mountains. We drove to Delphi via the beautiful Doo Lough and the Famine Memorial which I had read about in Pete McCarthy's marvellous book 'McCarthys' Bar'. Westport is a lovely town with so many good cafes and restaurants and plenty of traditional music as we are keen Dubliners fans (the originals).
It was a great week - the people are unlike any others we have met and so incredibly friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be back.
Spacious, clean and very comfortable house. Lots to do in the area. Beautiful view from the house. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Thank you for your kind review Natasha. We’re delighted you enjoyed your stay and hope to host you again some time.
Everything you need and more. Well stocked with essentials.
Great house. Lots of space for family of 5 (11, 14, 15 girls). Kitchen well fitted with all you need for a week. Beds extremely comfort, very hard to get teenage girls out of each day ( no point saying each morning as it just doesn’t happen). Showers need some work to clear blockages. Climbed Croagh Patrick, a must really if staying in this area. Loved Adventure West and water sports - book early as possible as they are booked up quickly. Great shopping in Castlebar and a McDonalds. Lovely meals out in Tavern beside us and JJ O’Malleys. Again booking in advance essential. Mayo Leisure Point a great days family fun when raining. Bowling great craic and the staff very obliging. Food as expected for such a place - burger and chips, fills a hole.

A wonderful week on the west coast
We are a retired Australian couple wanting to visit the west coast of Ireland. We chose to book Redrianne. When we arrived here we thought we’d won the lottery! A wonderful “cottage” – more like a home. Neat, modern, well-equipped and very roomy, it had everything we could possibly want. Plus location, location, location.
The views from the front window of Clew Bay are just priceless. Within comfortable walking distance of Murrisk and Croagh Patrick and a ten minute drive from Westport itself.
What a beautiful part of the world! Would highly recommend.
