Rural areas galore

Situated in the heart of Caramujeira, a ten minute drive from the coastal resort of Carvoeiro, this two storey villa has uniterupted views of the countryside and offers privacy to its guests. Scattering the landscape are Olive trees and vineyards and the wonderful Marinha, Benegil and Albandeira beaches are close at hand. Carvoeiro is a 7km drive to the west and Lagoa is a short ten minute drive.



On the entrance level there is a spacious hallway leading to three bedrooms. The master double bedroom has patio doors leading to a private terrace and also benefits from an ensuite bathroom and fitted wardrobes. There is a second double bedroom which also has its own private terrace. There is a third twin bedroom and also a full bathroom. Stairs (gated for the safety of children) lead to the lower level of the villa which has a fully fitted modern kitchen, dining room and spacious lounge.



Patio doors lead from the dining room and lounge to a terrace and seating area and the kidney shaped heated swimming pool, gardens and BBQ. The villa has been lovingly and comfortably furnished and is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday away from it all.

Absolutely perfect Villa. It had everything we needed. The villa was in a very peaceful area but close enough to restaurants and bars when we wanted to go. You do need a car but it was easy to navigate your way around. We would love to return, it was just brilliant!

Just perfect!

We stayed at Casa Engenho for a week with two 15 years boys and we didn’t want to leave. The villa had everything we needed. The location was tranquil and very close to the main roads so you could explore the area. Supermarkets were 10 mins by car and Carvoeiro was also a short drive away. We loved it and hope to return next year

Beautiful villa in great location

The villa is stunning, impeccably maintained, centrally located. The interior is beautifully decorated and very spacious. The area is very quiet but within a few minutes drive to a great beach and a great supermarket (Apolonia). Kate was very helpful and the staff made sure several times that we had everything that we needed. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the pool is clean and warm. Really a dream house.

A Little Paradise

An amazing property that checks all the boxes for a relaxing, picturesque and quaint vacation experience. Katharine was very helpful, the Elite Rentals Team was responsive and the property maintenance and maid service were friendly and efficient. The information book was a very useful resource in helping us navigate restaurants and things to do. Beds were comfortable, furnishings were perfect and the pool was well maintained. We will use this property again and fully recommend it!

We had a wonderful family holiday at Casa Engengo. The home was beautiful, holding a traditional charm with all the modern amenities needed to make our stay comfortable. Set in a private location with sea views, the pool was wonderful and we had many happy days enjoying the sun and playing in the pool. The villa was spotlessly clean, and maintained by a cleaner, gardener and pool technician several times during our stay. Katherine was extremely helpful, and always responded quickly whenever we posed a query during our stay. My mum loves to draw, and she spent many happy hours sat in the gardens drawing. We’ve had a wonderful stay, and everyone has commented on how at home they’ve felt, whether sat by the poolon the terrace at night, playing board games and drinking wine. Thank you for facilitating such a wonderful holiday. We’re leaving with many happy memories and throughly hope to return again at some time in the future.

Amazing Algarve Retreat

The villa was absolutely beautiful. A little ways away from everything was exactly what we were looking for, so yes a car is needed. Still close enough to run to market or beach within a few minutes. The stairs are interesting but manageable if you watch what you are doing. Spent most of our days in the pool. Marianna and Antonio were very helpful when needed. Never saw the pool guy, but yes he did show up at least once, that we noticed. Made was very nice but did not speak english.

Beautiful villa, clean and comfortable

Well appointed villa, well looked after by a maid who visited 3 days a week, a pool man to look after the pool, and a gardener - all friendly and non intrusive. Great responsive service from Elite rentals, very responsive to any issues. Lots of steep stairs - not recommended for young children or anyone with mobility issues. But great for families/couples. English books and a large DVD collection to make use of. You have to have a car. 10 mins from nearest towns and a bit less to supermarket. Beautiful area. Can't really think of anything!

Nice house and beautiful area

We had a good week here and loved the surrounding countryside and only a short drive to small towns and beaches. The house has a wonderful viewing over valley towards the sea from the different terraces. The rooms in the house are well placed. The only issue for us was the pool. It was not clean when we arrived. It was fixed monday/tuesday. Further some of the glasstiles in the pool floor was missing. It resulted in a badly hurded knee for one of my kids.

Beautiful villa in a quiet area

This is a beautiful villa in a secluded location. There are no shops or restaurants in walking distance so you need a car that will enable you to explore this beautiful area. The nearest beach is approx 2k away down tracks. Supermarket (big Intermarche in Porches) is about an 8 min drive. Elite rentals were very helpful before and during our stay. A cleaning lady, gardener and pool man also came but were not intrusive. The villa is very spacious and well equipped. Showers were very good, beds comfortable! It is worth noting that there are a lot of quite steep stairs, so this villa would not be suitable for very young children or anyone with mobility problems. The pool was great, the shallow end is 0.9m and then steps lead down to the deep end which is very deep - 2m. We paid extra to get it heated. We had a great time and can't wait to return!

The house and especially the pool area were beautiful and included everything we could wish for. We happened to arrive during cooler days of spring so the first couple of days it was a bit chilly inside - but only until we realised there were heating airconditioners in almost every room. The heated pool was really nice even when the weather wasn't perfect, and our 2- and 4-year-olds would have stayed in the water for hours. We found the house well suited for a family, although the staircase was very steep - there was, however a secure gate upstairs so felt safe with that and the kids quickly learned to walk the stair safely. There was a housekeeper that came almost every day for a quick clean up, which we really appreciated. You do need a car as there are no services nearby, but from the house it's easy to get around the coastline and see many beautiful and interesting places that are a short drive away. Overall, I highly recommend and hope to be back!

day before our check in we got a msg from Katharine that the people who checked out just before us have trashed the place and they cannot rent it to us. they were offering us an alternative place, the only issue was the heated pool that we had requested as it takes few days for pool to heat. we asked is there anything that they can do so we can stay where we had planned. And they did. we know they had to put in a lot of work to get it ready for us. when we arrived house was spotless ,there were only few remarks of what had truly went on in there while the other guests were there. will not go in the details. All we want to say is: we would book with Elite rentals any time without a hesitation. house was lovely and we were missing nothing. we also enjoyed lit fire every night(there is a agricultural shop near by that sells nice dry fire logs - not damp like supermarkets) as nights are chilly in December.

The sweet spot: very nice home, right in the middle of the Algarve

We have enormously enjoyed our stay in the Algarve. The house definitely added to that feeling. The house has anything for a family with adolescents (17&20y): great pool, a terrace for every moment in a day, plenty bathrooms, plenty space, good black-out curtains, plenty instagram-worthy spots 😉, all in the green and so much more… we’ve enjoyed staying there very much. The location of the house is a great asset too if you want to discover the Algarve without sitting in the car for hours to reach your destiny for the day, whether it’s Sagres in the West or Tavira in the East. And the many, many beautiful places in between. So, if you want to enjoy the beauty, the peace and the quietness of the Algarve to retreat, but like to have beaches, vivid towns with plenty of good value restaurants behind the corner… Keith & Christine’s house is just perfect for you. If you’re really fishing for a down point….the thing a missed during our stay was a good coffeemaker. But that didn’t stop my excellent experience. Thank you, Kristine from Elite, for the good service. And thanks again Keith & Christine for letting us stay at your marvellous house.

Ruhig und schön.

Wir haben zwei Wochen in diesem wunderbaren Haus verbracht und uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist geräumig und mit allem Notwendigen ausgestattet. Der Pool war erfrischend und ansprechend angelegt. Die Eigentümer haben wir nicht kennen gelernt, aber mehrmals pro Woche kam jemand zum Saubermachen und Waschen, so dass wir immer genügend frische Handtücher hatten. Das Haus ist mit dem Auto sehr gut erreichbar, bis zu den Ständen von Marinha, Albandeira und Benagil sind es jeweils nur ca. 10 Autominuten. Besonders genossen haben wir die ruhige Lage - trotz Hochsaison war es angenehm still. Eine Flasche Wasser im Kühlschrank für den ersten Durst nach der Ankunft wäre schön gewesen, sollte man also mitbringen. Alles in allem war es ein toller Aufenthalt - wir kommen gerne wieder.

Nothing short of perfect

This is our 5th time in the Algarve. Normally we stay in Vilamoura. We fancied a change and we are so glad we did. The Villa is perfect. Better than the photos suggested. The pool area is superb. Trying to get the kids to leave the pool was the hardest part of the holiday :) Inside the Villa is immaculately clean. Everything we needed was available. The Kitchen is very well equipped. Location is very secluded and private. Only a short drive from a handful of superb beaches. I would definitely recommend a car for this stay. Porches is only a 5-8 min drive and has a Lidl and Intermache. The other direction is Lagos and Portimao with some larger supermarkets. We would definitely recommend Benagil, Praia da Marinha and Praia do Carvoeiro for fantastic beaches. The cleaner visited twice a week and was very efficient. The Pool man had been and gone by the time we had finished breakfast and the gardener was also very discreet and worked early in the morning. Elite rentals have been a breeze to book with. Communication has been better than any other agent we have dealt with. During out stay we had a power outage, I contacted Elite Rentals and they reacted immediately. The power outage was out of their hands as it was a local outage but the pool man arrived within 15 minutes to reset the pool filtration and heating. The booking process with Kate was very clear and efficient. We are already waiting for next years dates to be released.
