Perfect Holiday Getaway

Perfectly situated on the hillside in a beautiful area above the village of Plaka, considered to be one of the most desirable locations in Crete. Set in its own grounds of approx half an acre this large 125m sq (1,345 sq ft) 3 bedroom villa is extremely spacious with breathtaking views of the Aegean sea and the snow capped white mountains. To maximise the views the open plan living accommodation is upstairs with large balconies, and the 3 double bedrooms are downstairs all with patio doors leading directly to the pool terrace. Fully equipped for an idyllic holiday with Wifi, air conditioning, outside stone BBQ and dining table, 50” smart TV (Netflix//Amazon prime/Disney+, YouTube etc) and DVD Player with lots of DVD’s for all the family. The historical ancient Venetian town of Chania is a 25 minute drive and for the ultimate in convenience Chania's International airport is only a 40 min drive. MHTE EOT License No: 1042K92003060201.

By far the best property that we stayed in on our tour of Crete. Would definitely stay here again, loved Plaka and enjoyed the boat hire at Almirida.

Beautiful home, central location

Beautiful home, close to several wonderful beaches, restaurants, and a great local town with grocery, bakery, etc. The hosts were wonderful and the sunset from the pool cannot be beat.

Fabulous property set on a hillside above Plaka village. Immaculately clean, spacious house. Very well appointed except lacking a few kitchen utensils. Sensibly, plenty of plastic 'crockery' as the position of the house made it quite windy. Beautiful pool. Again immaculate but not for younger children, non swimmers. Fabulous location near the village where there are plenty of restaurants with nearby Almeryda another option. Definitely a car is preferable.

Lovely Villa

Perfect for 2 couples. Bright and airy villa.Lovely pools..not too cold…. (But v deep..could only stand on tip toes one end- I’m 5.7”) Check in and check out very easy -were met by Leo the housekeeper who also organised return taxi to airport. Thank you!

Fantastic villa in beautiful location

Stunning villa with all you could need for a relaxing holiday. Perfect location for relaxing by pool or exploring local area. Just outside Plaka village which has great restaurants and well stocked supermarkets. We loved this villa and would definitely stay here again.

Great location and views, very comfortable villa with beautiful pool

Three good rooms leading into pool and a choice of terraces depending on time of day. Great views and easy but steep walk into village for food and drinks. Five min drive to sea and loads to do.

Amazing Views

Villa is situated a short walk up the hill from the village of Plaka. Unobstructed views of Souda Bay and amazing sunsets. Villa is great value for money with good facilities. Good communications with both owner David and manager Michalis who was quick to respond to our queries.

Beautiful villa in lovely Plaka

The villa was everything we’d hoped for; clean, modern, well-equipped and well-furnished, with lots of nice artwork. The pool was fab, with a spectacular view from both balconies. The villa was quiet and peaceful, though only a ten minute walk from great tavernas in the village of Plaka, where there were also two mini-markets and a couple of bars. Elpis was our favourite taverna, delicious food with enormous choice and a lively outdoor terrace. Sunset was more traditional, with a fine view. Closer still to the villa was Totem, great for lunch and cocktails and purveyors of fine homemade fig jam. David’s communication with us beforehand was comprehensive and helpful and we followed several of his local recommendations, including lunch in Chania.

Great stay

The villa exceeded our expectations. Good communication with David prior to our stay, with some great recommendations. Michalis met us at the Villa on our arrival. He was very informative sent us lots of info about the area things to see, places to eat and where to shoo. We had to use medical care whilst there but Michalis was helpful with where to go. Any issues and he was quick to respond. The pool is brilliant, the views spectacular especially sunset. You need a car but Plaka has a lovely little square of restaurants with very friendly staff. This is a 10 min walk away. Nearby Almyrida and Kalives are a short drive away and great for restaurants, shopping and beaches. We were all sad to leave.

Perfect.......

It's difficult to describe this in any other way! The villa is spacious, beautifully furnished and equipped and was so clean when we arrived that I tried to walk through a closed glass door! Lesson learned, the main balcony overlooks both the pool and the magnificent Souda Bay to the north. We spent many hours just relaxing, eating and drinking and watching the marine 'traffic' heading in and out of port. Turn to the west and you can watch the sun setting over the White Mountains. The villa is conveniently located just outside Plaka. There's a decent small supermarket within easy walking distance (if you don't mind a bit of a climb on the way back), along with numerous good and very welcoming local restaurants. More shops and a sandy beach are only a short drive away. We would recommend hiring a car if you want to get about, although you could easily spend a week simply enjoying the villa, the climate and the immediate surroundings. Chania is lovely. However, heed the warnings! We didn't, and were duly ripped off in buying lunch at a restaurant overlooking the harbour.

Alles super, wie zuvor von etlichen Leuten beschrieben

Wir haben einen tollen Urlaub hinter uns gebracht, das Haus ist klasse, Kommunikation mit Eigentümer und vor Ort super. Kleiner Tipp: Da sich die Küche im oberen Stockwerk befindet, haben wir eine zusammenklappbare Kühltasche sowie auffüllbare Kühlakkus mitgenommen, so mussten wir am Pool sitzend nicht immer nach oben laufen, um kalte Getränke zu holen. Ansonsten vielen Dank für diesen wunderbaren Aufenthalt

Sehr schöner Urlaub

Das Haus hatte eine super Lage, mit eigenem Überlauf- Poos und eigenem Parkplatz auf dem Grundstück. Der Blick vom Poolbereich und der Terrasse vom oberem Wohnbereich war Atemberaubend. Sehr gerne wieder.

Très agréable villa.😊

Parfaite communication avec David (absent) et Michealis (le gestionnaire). Jolie villa aux équipements parfaits. Localisation parfaite permettant de visiter les incontournables aux alentours. Piscine propre aux multiples skimmers en périphérie. Service 24h sur 24 si besoin assuré par l'intendant résidant a 10mn de la villa. Véhicule obligatoire. A réserver sans crainte ni hésitation. Comme il faut bien donner un axe d'amélioration alors on peut noter qu'un effort devrait être réalisé sur l'entretien et la réparation de diverses choses cassées qui font "tâche" dans cette jolie villa !!😉 (serrure volet cassé ou absente - grille au sol cassée dans une salle de bain - literie moyenne )

Tolles Haus mit schönem Pool

Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit in dem Haus. Für den Empfang und bei Fragen oder Schwierigkeiten stand uns Michalis (Hausverwalter) zur Verfügung. Der Pool ist fantastisch, ebenso die Aussicht vom Balkon auf das Meer. Die Lage war für uns passend, ein paar nette Tavernen fußläufig erreichbar, für alles weitere ist ein Auto unabdingbar. Der Strand ist mit dem Auto in 5-10 Minuten erreicht, zu Fuß aber zu weit. Für uns hatte das Haus alles, was wir für einen perfekten Urlaub gebraucht haben.

Great villa

Ajo-ohjetta talolle Plakasta olisi hyvä päivittää ja tarkentaa. Talon huoneet ja keittiö vastasivat hyvin kuvausta. Pihalle olisi hyvä hankkia kunnon grilli. Plakaan kävely ok, ylös talolle tukalaa helteessä. Uima-allas oli ahkerassa käytössä. Saimme myös vauvan sängyn käyttöön. Kiitos David nopeista vastauksista kysymyksiimme.

This villa far exceeded our expectations. It was spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. The view from the pool and the balcony were breathtaking. We hired a car and explored all over this part of Crete - a brilliant, relaxing holiday. Thank you.

Peaceful and relaxing villa holiday

Great communication throughout booking and the holiday from the owner David, which included recommendations to make our holiday even more amazing. Plaka is a small square, with a handful of tavernas but the young adults in our group still managed a few lively evenings reappearing at 3am! Everyone friendly & accommodating and the raki was flowing even though we never ordered any! We have been well looked after and had a great time. The villa has everything you need if you want to eat at home, aircon throughout and the view from the balcony as the sun sets is just beautiful. It’s less than 10 minutes to walk to Plaka, but it’s all uphill on the way home!! The beach and eateries at Almyrida were great if you are someone that likes the sand & sea.

Perfect

In our recent holiday in Crete, we were very lucky to stay at this villa. Excellently located, with magnificent views over Souda bay from the swimming pool and north facing balcony, and a short distance to the small village of Plaka, with some lovely restaurants, and also to Almyrida beachfront. The property is spacious, and has all the facilities to make the stay very comfortable, and we really couldn't have asked for any more.

Excellent place to stay beautiful views, central but private

The property is amazing, super clean, the local guys that help manage are super helpful. The property is walking distance to plaka which is great but also private and quiet. One suggestion would be to get mosquito nets for the beds as the tablets and plugins aren't really enough but that just comes with the territory. The property is absolutely stunning!

Wunderschöne Lage

Ein sehr schönes Haus in bester Hanglage mit Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang in der Bucht von Souda. Plaka mit mehreren Restaurants ist durch eine Abkürzung in 5 min zu Fuß zu erreichen. Für größere Einkäufe oder Ausflüge ist ein Auto sinnvoll.

I live In Halifax, England with my wife Sarah. We bought a plot of land with my brother, Lee and his wife Helen in 2005 and we built the villa using local builders. We have enjoyed some fantastic times, the children love coming out to Crete and have spent large parts of their school holidays here.

Friends of ours already had a place in Almerida, they Invited us out for a holiday, we loved the area and decided to buy this elavated plot of land with spectacular sea & mountain views. It is a great place to relax, the weather is consistent and the cretan diet is one of the healthiest in the world! Aside from the wonderful beaches and stunning countryside, Crete is steeped in History. The Turks and the Venetians have at one time ruled the Island and left their historical mark here. It is a fascinating place to visit with over 320 days of sunshine each year.
