2 bedroom & 2 bathroom apartment (sleeps 4 adults), with stunning views/pool

Very spacious and high quality 2 double bedroom/2 bathroom completely independent apartment, recently refurbished, located on the entire bottom floor of a large villa with a stunning 1800 square meter garden (ideal playing space for children). The owners live in a separate part of Villa Juana and respect the tenants privacy during their stay (as is confirmed by our reviews). This property is unique as you have the luxury of renting a villa type property at apartment prices! The property also includes a fully covered garage and a brand new swimming pool. The apartment, garden, lower balcony, pool and garage (for one car) are not utilised by any other tenants during your stay. The pool is also not utilised by the owners when tenants are at the property.

Fantastic sea and mountain views. One of the most rural areas of the Costa del Sol. The villa is located in an exclusive urbanization with excellent/easy access from the main coast road and is literally a stone's throw from the beach. The property is fully enclosed and safe for children. Very quiet and peaceful area but still only a 5 minute drive or easy bus ride to urban centers such as benalmadena costa or fuengirola.

Is renting a car necessary?: Although a car is recommended for site seeing, it is not required. All the essentials are within a maximum of 15 minutes walk from the villa.

Train station: 15 minutes (Malaga to Fuengirola);

Bus stop: 5 minutes (Malaga to Marbella);

Beach: 5 minutes;

Supermarket (open 7 days a week): 10 minutes;

Restaurants/bars: 10 minutes;

Tennis courts: 15 minutes;

More information on the local area: The villa is situated in one of the most beautiful, quiet and less urbanized areas of the Costa del Sol. The main street outside the house is a windy and scenic 2km route up to the idyllic Benalmadena Pueblo (local village). If you enjoy walking/hiking, it is a very enjoyable 25-30min walk up to the village. Once in the village, you have panoramic views of the whole area and there are plenty of options for eating, drinking and you can find all the services of a normal town (ie. supermarket, banks, post office).

If you walk in the other direction (south), you will find yourself on the beach within 5 minutes. Once on the coast road, you can enjoy a walk either west or east in which you have beach after beach to choose from .

What to do?: When staying at Villa Juana, you can spend your whole time relaxing around your private terrace/balcony/pool and garden. For the more adventurous, there is plenty to see both culturally and nature wise in and around the province of Malaga.

If you rent a car, within a one hour drive you can enjoy scenic drives that lead you to beautiful Andalusian mountain village such as Mijas and Ronda. For those who thoroughly enjoy unspoiled/protected beaches, within a 45 minute drive East of Villa Juana are the wonderful beaches of Nerja.

For those who are into sporting activities, it is very easy to go hiking around the area as it is surrounding by local mountain and hiking paths. In addition, the neighbouring urbanisation (Torremuelle) has several tennis courts (only 7 Euro an hour and surrounded by lovely scenery).

Culturally, an easy/cheap train ride to Malaga centre has a lot to offer: from Moorish ruins, a Roman amphitheatre, a wonderful cathedral, the museum of Picasso.

Wonderful stay

A beautifully presented villa, brilliant outside space. Would definitely recommend, well positioned, however would benefit from renting a car, steep walk up into town. Taxi only €6-7 and we walked back. Owners very discreet, yet provided everything needed and more. WiFi and aircon both worked great, villa spotless on arrival, and secure parking for our car.

Stunning views from pool, will definitely return if able!

A great place for a family holiday

We had a great family holiday in this lovely villa. The villa is ideally situated off the coastal road in a quiet and peaceful area. The views are unbelievable from the pool area and the living accommodation is well appointed and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The local village is a 3 minute car journey and has a good selection of restaurants and shops.

The well maintained beach is a 1 minute drive where you can enjoy the crystal clear waters and warm sunshine.

This villa is ideal for a relaxing holiday by the coast. The pool is a good size and the surrounding grounds are well looked after.

We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone.

Great view set in beautiful gardens

The outside areas, gardens, pool and view are stunning. You stay in the lower half of the house. The photos do not show how big the sitting room and particularly the main bedroom is. The main sitting room has patio doors onto a small balcony. The area outside the main door has a table & chairs and umbrella and again is bigger than how it looks in photos. It is very clean inside and out. Turn right up the hill and a 2 minute drive takes you to the Colomares Castle which tells the story of Christopher Columbus through the architecture of the castle. Turn right up the hill and a 5 minute drive takes you to Benalmadena old town which has a great authentic atmosphere. In the old town is El Parador, which is a traditional Spanish restaurant with great food and very reasonable. The house is in a great situation but you do need a car. We visited the Benalmadena cable car. Don't miss the Falconery show there. We visited Aqualand, not quite Disney but okay. Very clean, food very expensive and not very good. It is about a 15 minute walk to Torremuelle train station (behind the British School). This line runs from Fuengirola to Malaga town. We moved around and used the train as well as the car. The train also goes directly into Malaga airport. It is easy to use and a great way of seeing other places. We visited Fuengirola, Torreblanca, Benalmadena town (which is different from the old town) and Malaga town from the train. There's a lot to see if you get out and about.

Nice holiday home

A spacious, clean, apartment on the lower level of a house, overlooking a garden and the sea. There is also a small balcony and a small dining terrace outside the entrance to the flat. Beds were very comfortable. We found the kitchen a bit sparely equipped. E.g. we bought a strainer for draining canned food and washing vegetables.

A few steps lead to the upper level, where the pool(area) with sun chairs and stunning sea view, is situated. The villa is situated in a quiet area, separated from the village road by a wall. Although the front yard of the owners flat is situated on this level, we were never disturbed.

On the contrary the owners were very friendly, discrete and helpful at all times. We did not have a car, but the eve we arrived the landlady took us to the nearest supermarket (about 1,6 kilometers) for shopping breakfast and basic stuffs, and drinks. This happened also later during our 17 days stay.

If you do not travel by car, please be aware of the fact, that the villa is situated up a rather steep winding road approx. 250 meters from the main coastal road (N340). The distance to the nearest supermarket ( Mercadona, excellent by the way) is approx. 1,6 kms and to the nearest restaurant and taxi station a little under a kilometer. Taxis are cheap, but you should know the number, if you have to call for one. When we went shopping for food, we normally had a nice walk to Mercadona ( 30 mins.) and took a taxi back home with our purchase.

Owner's Response: Dear Bo, Thanks for you kind comments. As far as the kitchen being sparely equipped is concerned, we have never had any complaints in all our years of renting. In addition, if a strainer or anything was missing, then you by all means just should have asked my parents (my mother probably has 5 in her kitchen)! Spacious and comfortable apartment with stunning garden and pool area

We were looking for somewhere to get away from it all to recharge batteries and we weren't disappointed.

A lovely, spacious apartment beneath the owners villa with plenty of natural light. A large lounge area with corridor off leading to an indoor dining area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. A/C in lounge and bedrooms. 2 triple wardrobes in main bedroom so plenty of hanging space.

The main attraction for us was the garden area and pool and expectations were met 100%. Owners keep both clean and tidy and even though Taysir and Sonia are around at times, they're extremely discreet and do not interfere with your privacy.

We did not hire a car but knew the area having stayed nearby last year. We travelled about by bus and train. To get into Benalmadena costs you have about a 15 min walk to the bus stop but coming back there is a stop at bottom of road to apt (5 min walk uphill). Just have To be mindful last bus around 22.20. To get to Fueringirola you hop in bus at bottom of road. Not sure of return time of bus but we caught train back to Torremuelle and walked back (about 15 mins). Caught train to Arroyo de la Miel (beware - station up steep hill too). Plenty of places to eat and drink in all. There are some small bars and restaurants within 15 min walk from apt too.

Took train from airport to Torremuelle and then got taxi and for 2 of us it was just over €10.

Fantastic holiday and sending Taysir and Sonia our best wishes and thanking them for their hospitality as we even spent an enjoyable evening with them before we had to return to normality. Thanks too to Tareq for the pre holiday communication and sorry we missed you due to our flight dealt and our subsequent laziness next day.

Ski: The beautiful Sierra Nevada ski resort is in the province of Granada which is only a 90 minute drive from Villa Juana. It is known for being unique for its great weather and the fact that on a good day you can ski in a t-shirt with a view of the Mediterranean!
