We're sorry to hear the villa wasn't as clean as it should have been on arrival, and about the smell from the towels, that's not the standard we hold ourselves to, and we've raised this directly with our keyholders so it's addressed. We are genuinely disappointed with the 3-star rating, given that these issues were not raised with us during your stay, we could have sent someone out straight away to put things right, whether that was the cleanliness, towels etc. On the shade issue, we've had this villa for many years and this is the first time it's been raised. The pool terrace is typically used for sunbathing, as that's the preference of the majority of our guests, but there is shade available elsewhere in the garden, either at the covered dining area or the grassed area, and my email to you was meant to be genuinely helpful not dismissive, so I apologise if this was misconstrued. We're glad the stay had its high points despite all this, but in future, please do get in touch with hosts directly while you're there, we'd much rather fix a problem on day one than read about it in a review afterwards.

Thank you for your review and we're pleased to hear you enjoyed the villa itself. We do want to address the comments regarding the pool, as we feel the full picture is important. You arrived on Saturday and were in contact with us shortly after regarding a second set of keys, at that point no concerns were raised about the pool. When the issue was brought to the key holders attention on the Monday the pool maintenance team attended and the next day (Tuesday), and we received confirmation from you that the pool was better. Pool conditions can be affected by a number of external factors including weather, which are unfortunately outside our control. What is within our control is our response time and we're proud that the issue was fully resolved within 24 hours of being notified. Given that this was a two-week stay and the matter was addressed so promptly, we feel a description of the pool as 'unusable' doesn't reflect the overall experience fairly. We always strive to ensure our guests have a wonderful stay and will continue to do so.
