This place was absolutely beautiful. The photos don't do it justice.

We loved our stay in this rustic farmhouse. Although it's an old farmhouse it is impeccably kept with all the modern amenities you could possibly want. The multi-acre yard is completely fenced in with bucolic ponds and willow trees and a babbling brook. The house is immaculate with an amazing dining room and beautiful reading room with fireplace. It's Truly a gem. Simone was so helpful and responsive. The only two things to watch out for is bring bug spray- there are lots of gnats (but of course it's the country) and some of the rooms are warmer than others at night. Also the location of the farmhouse was perfect for driving to the best hikes (sam's point preserve and lake minnewaska) and finding some non-hiking fun (angry orchard brewery tree house tour and eating Bavarian food at the gunk haus).

Beautiful, historic farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

This house provides for a fantastic stay away from the city. There are number of things that make it ideal.

First, it is relatively close city, but still an escape with access to nature and activities and quaint country/mountain towns. Secondly, the house is historic, having been built in the 1800s (original wooden beams, floors, etc.), but renovated/remodeled recently to make it very comfortable and functional. And third, it is on a big piece of property down a long private drive. The property has a stream running though it, a few ponds, and a lot of good spots for reading, dog walking, and hanging out.

Simone was very helpful and provided some great recommendations for exploring the area. I highly recommend a weekend away here.

Beautiful property tucked away on a private drive.

My friend and I had a wonderful time using the house as a home base to go to storm king art center, mohonk mountain house, dia:beacon and new paltz. Simone and Pascal met us on check-in and were gracious and informative, recommending a great restaurant (Tuthill House) for our first night. The house was clean and comfortable.

Romantic Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been more pleased with our very first vrbo vacation. Travelling with our grown children and baby granddaughter, the Farmhouse provided a wonderful backdrop for "quality time" together. The house itself is lovely and beautifully appointed. We cooked both nights there: the kitchen and the 2-burner Weber gas grill met all our culinary needs. The deck and the grounds were a great antidote to city living. The owners of this property thought of everything guests need for their comfort and have lovingly restored this house and the grounds, setting the scene for getaways of all kinds [romantic and otherwise].
