About this property
Beautiful Holiday Home In North Cornwall With Sea Views
Millook House is a traditional Cornish cottage located on the North Cornwall Coast. The house has been carefully restored with modern living in mind whilst retaining its unique character through beautiful granite fireplaces, original slate floors, exposed beams in the bedrooms and wood burning stoves. Millook House is only seconds away from the renown surfing of Millook Beach. A great stony beach to go rock pooling and to watch the sun set over Atlantic Ocean. It is well located to explore North Cornwall and beyond through its many nearby sandy beaches of Widemouth Bay, Bude and Crackington Haven and towns of Bude, Boscastle and Tinagel. If you like the sound of Millook House but don't want the full size we can spilt the property to sleep 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, 2 king size and 2 singles out of season. The property retains its character and key facilities including the playroom and downstairs toilet. This can only be done during term time. Please note the property is very old and as a consequence the flooring is uneven in places and there are steps in unusual places. Please be aware of this if you are unsteady on your feet.

The area is so beautiful. Fantastic walks and lots to do. Cottage is very quirky and big enough for a large group. Good secluded patio with sun for most of the day. The only thing I missed is some information about local walks and places to visit, suggestions for best paddle boarding etc.
We had a wonderful stay at beautiful Million house. A comfortable and beautifully appointed house with loads of space and great facilities. A stone's throw from the beach, in a lovely isolated location. However beware the roads - the approach is very steep on both sides with hairpin bends and is also single-track, it can be very stressful when meeting another car, which happened to us often, leading to having to reverse up steep hills - not fun when it's dark. Really better suited for 4x4 vehicles.
A lovely house, much bigger than it seems on the website. Perfect for walks on the coastal path and a stones throw from rocky beach (no sand). The house has a lot of small steps inside and low ceilings.
What a fantastic cottage. Suited our blended 2 families perfectly. Loved being so close to the fabulous beach. What a lovely touch to arrive to a decorated Christmas tree in the lounge.
Cottage was cozy and warm and welcoming. Great property with super owners who responded so quickly to any questions. Can’t wait to go again!
Millook house is very close to a stoney beach with rock pools at low tide. The house is accessed via very steep roads with parking for 3 cars
We had a few issues during our stay which the owner resolved quickly .
The
Absolutely beautiful property, I personally loved the location my elder sons would have preferred a bit nearer to shops & pub ! I wouldn’t recommend to elderly people , I did read that floors were uneven & little steps & my parents did struggle, my 18 mth old grandson managed fine lol . If you want peace & quiet this is the place . Overall we did love the property & had a great time xx
Millook House is exactly how it’s described in its tag line ‘Beautiful Holiday Home with Sea Views’
We were wanted a quiet location for our family summer holiday and it did not disappoint!
The house is beautifully decorated and laid out, which was perfect for all of our family members to enjoy! There was 11 of us staying, including 3 kids aged 16 and under; everyone was taken with just how close to the beach we were! Literally no more than a 30 second walk away! Early morning and late night beach walks were very popular.
There are few little general wear and tear things that need a little attention, as is with many older holiday homes, but this was no issue. We had everything we needed.
I would probably say 11 of us was too much for the house, with hot water and toilets constantly being used but managed!
If you’re thinking of staying at Millook House, I’d definatly recommend you do, it really is a beautiful and peaceful location.
Sam, the host, was very communicative and very helpful, there to answer any questions we had. Thanks for having us! We hope to visit again in the future!
There were 6 adults and 3 children in our party. All had comfortable beds but some extra wardrobe space would have been better. The showers were excellent. There was plenty of lounging space. The kitchen was OK just lacking worktop space. Overall we had a great holiday even though we had to get in the car to go anywhere
This really is a brilliant place to stay, the house is homely, spacious and tastefully decorated with a courtyard that gets constant sun throughout the day. The location is super quiet, almost on a beautiful pebble beach that's good fun for clambering and swimming, it's on the coastal path and a short drive to the buzz of Bude etc.
What a lovely property. Great location and has everything you might need. The photos don’t do it justice. We had a lovely holiday there and Sam was so helpful reorganising our dates due to Covid.Thoroughly recommended.
Fabulous location, lovely house. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Host easily contactable. Electricity went off one day and the housekeepers did everything they could to get it sorted even though it was a Sunday. We had a great time.
Booking process and communication with owner excellent. The house proved perfect for our grown up family and our dogs.
The outside dining area was a brilliant place to eat, drink and socialise.
Some of our party can be difficult to please, but all we’re very happy with the stay.
An idyllic cottage in a great location. Our first impression was that the place was so much bigger than it had appeared on the listing, with a lovely courtyard area (which, thanks to the fantastic weather - we took full advantage of), tons of living space (we were 5 adults and 2 active kids) and well positioned for all the activities that the area has to offer.
The welcome pack was a lovely touch and communication with the owners was excellent both before and during the stay. For a group who would generally never have considered a UK staycation before this last year, our minds have certainly been changed.
We had a great week in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Millook house is in a quiet location, a minute from the beach and a great base to explore from.
The house is bright, spacious, comfortable and well equipped. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived.
(Our only suggestion would be more storage in the bedrooms)
We would recommend Millook House!
A great place to stay, enjoyed the geology on the beach and flora in Millook valley.
Just returned from your gorgeous Millook House. Your welcome pack was very much appreciated and enjoyed thank you. The house was beautiful and very clean, please thank your housekeepers Michael and Joan for taking such care to make our stay comfortable. We have had a lovely few days despite the weather and have managed to stay dry and enjoy the freedom to roam! Our dog Tess has loved it too.
Lovely location on the coast -fabulous character property in a very peaceful place. Hardly any traffic children and dog friendly. Across the road from a beach -very well equipped cottage -spacious -log burning fire.Sunny patio area to relax in. Lots to do in the local area for all ages.A few issues with the heating which were soon sorted By the owner
Thank you Sam for the amazing stay. The house is clean, well furnished and very lovely. It is located in an amazing place. We would definitely love to come back.
Such a beautiful home, our 2nd year spending Christmas here and just as wonderful as we had remembered. The amazing beach just a minutes walk away is so convenient and the children enjoyed the fresh air. Sam the host was lovely as always and only a message away. A home that we will always hope to return to. Thanks so much for accommodating us. Sheree.
Our stay at Millook House was excellent, the property is delightful with lots of character. Good puds nearby, dogs thoroughly enjoyed the walks along the beach. I would thoroughly recommend it.
My name is Sam Ellis, I live in Lewes, East Sussex with my Husband Ben and my three daughters Georgia (10 years), Olivia (6 years) and Eva (4 years) and our newly acquired puppy Biscuit. My Husband and I run our own company in Lewes which allows us to spend as much time as possible in our house in Cornwall. We get the best of both worlds the beautiful countryside of The South Downs and the dramatic seascape of Millook.
Why they chose this property
We bought Millook House in 2010 as a family home from home as we were spending so much of our holidays in Cornwall that we decided to buy here. If you visit you will be able to tell it is truly a family house and not just another rental property. We have three young girls who love holidaying there as they can go to the beach by themselves to go rock pooling and climbing or wander in the woods behind the house with new found independence. However, we decided Millook House should be lived in as much as possible and not just wait for us hence the reason for putting it up for holiday let. Lots of family and friends have enjoyed holidays there and we feel it should be made available for other families to holiday in to.
What makes this property unique
A major benefit is the proximity of Millook Beach to the house as it is just across the road and we never get bored of walking down to it as there is always something new to look at. We can also pick up the South West Coastal Path which is literally on our door step or if you don't feel like being active hiding in the house with the log burning stove and watching a good DVD. The ultimate has to be watching the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean with a glass of wine and just experiencing the quiet and watching the waves crash onto the beach. The stars are pretty spectacular to.
