The view is magnificent! The kitchen is very well-equipped. The space was comfortable and commodious for the four of us. Although the temperatures were slightly above normal, the villas remained cool. Don't miss the breakfast at Fred's General Store.

This property is very well appointed, cozy and comfortable.Even at 4700 feet it is easily accessible with plenty of parking.The fireplace makes the chilly evenings all that more enjoyable. The deer on the property have no fear of humans and will walk right up to you.However, the real story is the view! Unobstructed, long range and stunning!If I had any criticism, it would be that this property is on the older side and could use a little TLC . That being said, the need for updating, did not diminish our enjoyment in the least. I would highly recommend.

Got our winter fix

Just the right ambiance for a wintery weekend with four friends (two who went snowboarding and two who went to the winery instead ;) Enjoyed very nice dinners in Banner Elk, followed by fireside chats and comfy beds. Thank you for allowing small pets, and for your excellent communication.

Wonderful views & great location

We had a wonderful time, clean property and the owners made it super easy and gave lots of details for us to know exactly what to do and how to get into the property. Wildlife everywhere and so much fun to just experience that! Spectacular views and great location close to everything Beech has to offer.

My husband and I had such a great stay here for our anniversary! Tom & Karen were so helpful in getting us great information about where to get supplies and things to check out while we were in town. The views were gorgeous and the house was so cute! We wished we could’ve stayed longer.

Absolutely Perfect!

All the 5 star reviews speak for themselves! This home was absolutely perfect for our ski weekend at Beech Mountain. Very charming, clean, and you cannot beat the views. We came on a very snowy weekend and did not have any issues accessing the home. Perfect location for anywhere you might want to go on the mountain- very short drive from the ski resort and restaurants in town. And Tom is hands down the kindest host we have ever rented from. Very communicative and helped to make sure we arrived safely given the weather conditions. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to anyone.

Beautiful view

This cute little villa was exactly how it was described. The views were amazing & we had everything we needed. The location was easy to get to and only a few mins away from restaurants and shops. It was perfect for a girls weekend in the mountains to visit the Land of Oz park!!

Cozy villa

Cozy place great for the family and very concerto Beech Mtn. Beds were incredibly cozy. The only bummer was the pilot light went out on the fireplace almost immediately and we didn’t get to enjoy it, but those things happen. Recommend!

Awesome Views, Well Stocked Home and Owners Fabulous to Work With

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this home. The villa was in a prime location with wonderful views and a short distance to ski resort and other amenities. The home had a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable and cozy living space and the owners followed up and check in on our needs regularly! I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to this area!

Location, Location, Location

Close to ski slope and all the things you want to experience in Beech Mtn. Cozy, quiet and can we talk about that view?!? My favorite part of the day was sipping coffee and watching the daybreak across the mountains. Definitely what I needed to reset. I’ll be back!

Great Getaway

Spent two weeks in this villa this summer. It was wonderful. The villa is even better than the photos would indicate. Very good hiking right on Beech Mountain (a mix of profile hikes and uphill hikes). Other good options in Grandfather Mountain, Boone, and Blowing Rock. During the summer the Appalachan State Music Festival has some great performers / performances. I'm planning to returning for two weeks next summer.

Wonderful!!

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this rental. The views of the blue ridge mountains are breath taking. Beech Mountain Town is incredible! Love the neighborhood. The home felt cozy. Very welcoming! The A/C wasn't working and we rented in June but I'm beech mountain, it doesn't get to hot and it got chilly the nights we were there. We just opened up the windows and it naturally cooked off. The breeze outside was delightful.

great views

Love the layout of the property and stunning views from the living room and kitchen. Your on top of the mountain and close to all the activity on beach mountain. We got here in last week of march and a snow storm hit the top of the mountain. It's a good idea to bring some snow chains in winter, it saved us a few times. Kitchen was well stocked and clean, bathrooms were nice and clean upstairs and down. My wife liked the extra bedroom with the sink for her personal makeup room. The owners made sure we knew how to get there and kept us informed on the weather and were very helpful with the trip. Would do it again in the future.

Wonderful place. So convenient

This place is exactly as listed. Perfectly clean with everything we needed. So close to Beech Resort, less than a couple min drive, if that. The kitchen had everything we needed and CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS on how to use fireplace, oven, electronics etc. That part was amazing and made it even more relaxing and enjoyable. Would totally stay again. Oh yeah, when we arrived there was a momma bear and three cubs digging through the large trash dumpster, someone must not have closed the door previously. It was both amazing to see up close but also unnerving because they were really tearing up the trash. Close the doors peeps! Lots of beautiful dear and birds chirping.

Pre-Christmas Weekend

My family of 4 enjoys relaxing mountain vacation on the weekend before Christmas every year. This is the first time we have stayed in Beech Mountain. We absolutely loved the area. The best part was by far this condo! The view is absolutely spectacular! The unit was extremely clean and well-stocked with everything you would need at beginning part of a vacation. The 2 downstairs bedrooms were cozy and quiet. The third bedroom in the loft area was a hit with our teenage daughter. The owners were extremely helpful from the first inquiry about renting the unit and continued corresponding with us throughout our stay. We are extremely happy with her decision to rent this property and would highly recommend it to anyone considering the Beech Mountain area.

Mountain Paradise

We (mom, dad, and two adult children) stayed here this past Thanksgiving and we all agree this will go down as one of our most memorable family holidays! The views from the main family room and kitchen were SPECTATULAR and changed beautifully throughout the day depending on the location of the sun. It was amazingly cozy, clean, and with a well-stocked kitchen (which was definitely needed and appreciated cooking our Thanksgiving dinner!) In the mornings, we enjoyed drinking our coffee out on the balcony. In the afternoons, we ventured out to one of the many hikes in the area and in the evenings, we spent time chatting and cozying up around the gas fireplace. Tom was an excellent communicator with clear instructions available throughout. Thank you Tom (& Karen). We would definitely love to return one day to this peaceful, mountain paradise!

Pleasant stay with a couple of notes

This condo is in a great location and is close to the mountain, but a few things you should know if you stay here: First, there is NOT a hot tub, which the VRBO description includes. This was disappointing for us because it's one of the reasons we chose to stay here. Second, no shampoo or conditioner is provided. Third, no coffee is included. That said, each of the beds is king-size and very firm. The fireplace was a welcome addition and frequently used. The home did include a lot of cooking utensils. It's extremely close to the mountains, but (and this is included in the description) you won't be able to park in front of the house. There's also a beautiful view from the back windows.

Difficult in winter weather but Summer would be lovely.

The property was ok for the price. The carpet should be replaced to wood or tile due to visible use/traffic stains. The place was overall clean but dated, 70's green tubs, dated furniture, older bedding. The owners were good with communication and it fit our purpose to take our 4 year old to start to learn to ski. There was winter weather one morning where I could not get back up the ramp to the unit after I had left to check the road status due to the Ice that had developed on the walkways. The walk to the unit was down a very long/steep set of stairs, would be perfectly fine in summer but in winter was scary at times. The downstairs tub did not drain well (we discussed with owner) and the front door knob fell off while we were trying to exit one day, we had to find a screwdriver to put it back on. Overall an ok stay, fees were reasonable but overall feel the unit needs lots of updates.

Tom and Karen Bonfield live in Sunset Beach, NC and fell in love with the North Carolina mountains shortly after moving to North Carolina in 2008 from Florida. After spending time throughout the North Carolina mountains we decided Beech Mountain was the best place for a vacation home.

NRV 17 sits at approximately 4700 elevation and summer days rarely exceed 75 degrees. We love the 80 mile, panoramic year round views and convenient access to everything the northwest North Carolina Mountain area has to offer. While we do not ski we love to be so accessible to the Ski Beech Mountain resort for our three children, spouses and grandchildren to enjoy.
