The Loft cottage in St Ives - Beautifully modernised cottage just steps away from the beach & harbour. Sleeps 4 In 2 Bedrooms.
We have loved St Ives ever since holidaying here many years ago. After living in Birmingham and then London, we eventually managed to fulfil our dream and make the move to Cornwall. We now live in St Ives, and absolutely love it! Alan and Sharon
Why Alan chose Saint Ives
St Ives is a special town and Downalong is at its very heart. The houses have history, the streets are narrow and higgledy-piggledy and absolutely full of character. Added to that the fact that you are almost completely surrounded by sea, the harbour and beautiful beaches makes this area especially unique.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is located right in the heart of Downalong but benefits from being off the beaten track - through an old granite archway and into a quiet courtyard. The perfect location for a relaxing holiday.

Comfortable and stylish haven
The Loft is a beautiful stylish property with a wonderfully cosy atmosphere. The house is close to everything and yet a very private and secluded place to rest after the activities of the day.
We are so pleased that you enjoyed your long stay at The Loft, and thank you so much for writing a review.
We really hope to see you back in St Ives again one day.
The Loft Review
The Loft is full of character, sympathetically modernised with all mod-cons. I particularly liked the upstairs space and was most impressed with the care taken to provide information about everything in the accommodation and the attention to detail in the provision of kitchen utensils and supplies, with plentiful cleaning equipment. There was plenty of storage in the bedrooms and the shower room was excellent. The listing description was accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. The owners provided excellent customer service and I would recommend this property to friends and family. It was close to local amenities and fantastic restaurants. The Seafood Cafe was wonderful as was the Rajpoot Indian restaurant. We had a scenic drive along the coast to St Just which was stunning.
Thank you Jane for writing such a detailed review, which is much appreciated.
We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay.
We hope to see you again soon.
Ideally located and clean.
Everything we needed was provided.
So please that you enjoyed your stay Jane.
Hopefully see you again soon!
beautiful cottage in the heart of St Ives
The cottage is very well equipped and maintained and very centrally situated so convenient for shops, restaurants, beaches and art galleries. The outside space although tiny is a real bonus ( though watch out for seagulls keen to swoop on your food).
Although St Ives is busy it is very easy to get away from the crowds and we had some lovely walks along the coast and up to the old tin mines nearby.
We're so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at The Loft Fiona, and thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Hope to see you again soon!
Perfect location, lovely cottage.
We were beaming when we first got inside the Loft, it really is a lovely space for a holiday.
The location is fantastic, no more than 20 metres from Porthmeor beach and perhaps 50 metres to the harbour - it really couldn't be better.
There are two great bedrooms downstairs (and great beds too) together with a excellent shower. Upstairs is a big open plan space with a little terrace off of the kitchen. It's incredibly well equipped, everything feeling fresh and modern, and just a light open space to live in for a holiday.
In the busy narrow streets of St Ives it's a miracle that somewhere can both be so well situated and so quiet.
We'll be back to St Ives and The Loft will be our first choice.
Wow, what a great review John, thank you very much.
We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and even managed a little sunshine during your stay.
Hopefully we will see you back at The Loft one day soon!
It was a blast to return to The Loft - it felt like coming home, in fact! Alan, Sharon and Sue make it easy to feel at home, though. The welcoming touches you see and feel throughout the property just add to everything else, like the wonderful interior and excellent location! We look forward to coming back again soon. Thanks for everything, to everyone at SO ST IVES!

St Ives is approximately 45 minutes drive from Newquay Airport.
Taxi from St Erth train station (on the London Paddington to Penzance main line) is approx 10 minutes.
St Ives train station is approx 15 minutes walk / 3 minutes taxi.
St Ives, often described as Cornwall's 'Jewel in the Crown' is one of the UK's most sought after holiday destinations.
With its temperate climate and with not one but five golden sandy beaches, clear Atlantic waters and fabulous coastal scenery, it can't fail to impress. Its narrow cobbled streets, fashionable shops, restaurants, bars and cafés all make St Ives a must visit destination.
For art lovers St Ives is host to the Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth museum and the Leach Pottery as well as to over 25 commercial art galleries.
For those who wish to explore further, St Ives is well positioned with the north and south coast only a twenty minute drive apart. It is very easy to explore the very different scenery of Cornwall, coastal and inland, without having to travel very far.
