The Wheel House Sleeps 8 (3 Bedrooms)
About Judith Hurford
Julian, myself and 3 children live here at Farwood Barton, Julian was born here, and I moved here when we got married. Julian runs the dairy herd and helps out with the holiday cottages. I run the holiday cottages and do the farm accounts. We live here with 190 dairy cows, approx 40 calves most of the year, with some sheep during the winter, 2 cats Spoldge and Trixey, a working dog called Rex who love catching the ball with the visitors!
Why Judith Hurford chose Colyton
Farwood Barton is a working dairy farm, the farm has been in the family for 3 generations, the original farm buildings in the Victorian Court Yard had got out of date for modern farming practices, they were crying out to be converted in to holiday lets. We converted them in 2009, we now enjoy having visitors staying with us and sharing our beautiful location. We as a family love living here in the countryside, we enjoy everything the countryside has to offer us, our livelihood, the quietness, our own space, the views, we still enjoy waking up every morning looking out to the wonderful view over the Coly Valley and beyond, summer or winter.
What makes this Cottage unique
Farwood Barton gives you high quality, modern, accommodation, hidden from the hustle and bustle of life, whilst being close to the Jurassic Coast beaches and road links into the South West:- A30, A303, A35, A3035 and M5. We want everyone to have a truly relaxing stay, and to leave feeling refreshed after a memorable time here at Farwood Barton.

Excellent accommodation just as listed
This is definitely a place to stay. Accommodation is 5*, we were presented with freshly baked home made scones, jam, clotted cream and fresh milk on arrival, which was most welcomed after a long drive. The garden was excellent to sit in and have an evening meal. Plenty of room for us all in the 3 bedroom cottage with a large living area. The property is worth a visit, the scenery is beautiful and so peaceful. Enjoyed watching the cows head in for milking.
Idyllic quiet location
Beautiful and spacious converted barn set in the stunning Devon countryside with the most wonderful views.
The hosts are very welcoming and even provided us with a real Devon cream tea on arrival.

The cottage was Definitely five star I have no complaints and Judith and her family were really nice
We were made a really welcome,The cottage was fantastic all the rooms are very clean and tidy and the furniture was well looked after plus the beds were really comfortable.
The garden was big and the dogs 🐕 loved running around, I liked sitting in the garden first thing in the morning and late evening and look at the views they are fantastic. There are lots of walks and you’re only five Miles away from the sea plus coastal walks, quite a few of the cafes let your dogs go in and some of the pubs are dog friendly to. We all had a fantastic time didn’t want to come home.
