Ancienne école avec vue imprenable sur le lac et la montagne

La vieille école est située sur le côté du Loch Linnhe entre Ballachulish et Kentallen. Il a une vue imprenable sur le loch vers les montagnes d'Ardgour. Il y a une piste cyclable au bord du lac à travers la route permettant de marcher et de faire du vélo facilement avec de superbes vues.
La maison est parfaitement positionnée pour voyager dans toutes les directions - à l'est de Glencoe et Glen Etive à l'ouest d'Ardnamurchan, au sud d'Oban et au nord de Fort William, Glenfinnan et au-delà.
Le salon unique était autrefois une salle de classe. Son haut plafond et ses fenêtres doubles orientées à l'ouest le rendent spacieux et lumineux. Les poêles à accumulation et un poêle à bois le rendent confortable toute l'année.
La cuisine est entièrement équipée. Le lave-vaisselle et la vaste vaisselle facilitent les repas en famille. Une variété de cafés et de restaurants à proximité, certains à distance de marche, font du restaurant une option facile.
Il y a trois chambres à coucher-double, lits jumeaux et lits superposés
Il existe une variété de guides et de cartes dans la maison pour vous aider à découvrir et à apprécier la région. Pour les jours plus calmes, il y a un grand jardin clos, une télévision, des DVD, des jouets et des jeux.
Dans l'ensemble, c'est une base idéale pour explorer ou se détendre dans une région fabuleuse!

We had a wonderful Holiday with stunning Views. Sitting at the fire, watching the sunset with a nice Cup of tea was so relaxing. We really did not want to leave!

Scotland April 2025

Comfortable cottage in a great location with easy access to the numerous great walking and cycling options in the area. Spectacular views across Loch Linnhe especially in the evening when the sun is setting. Highly recommend the Laroch Restuarant for food.

Absolutely Beautiful cottage and location, just perfect

Perfectly equipped cottage with everything you could need for a family stay. The location is stunning, watching sun set every night over the loch is so very special, we have made some memories this week! Thank you so much, we have had a wonderful time.

Trip to the Highlands

Lovely loch side location the Old School House was great. Fiona was excellent host and offered really useful and helpful information making our stay even more enjoyable. We weren’t lucky enough to experience the sunsets from the fab location but that didn’t spoil our stay. The Old School House is a great location for exploring this truly beautiful area.

Beautiful house in lovely area

We had a great holiday at the School house cottage. The house is a real home from home, very well equipped and all the toys were a big hit with our two kids. The house is very comfortable, fab views and great stove. We loved the area, so much to see and do...a week wasn't enough! Great base to see all the famous Scottish landmarks. Thanks Fiona for all the advice and for the big book of info you have at the cottage. Very useful and great reading!

Amazing holiday

Everything was as described. Amazing view from front room. Perfect location. Loved the woodburner. Cycle/walkway right across road was great. Less than a mile along the path to holy tree bar/restaurant. Spent a few afternoons on the deck overlooking the loch. Will definitely be back. Thanks Fiona.

Gorgeous place to be.

The property is so much bigger than the pictures represent, the lounge with its high ceiling and loch view is a lovely place to sit and relax. Excellent location for exploring the Glencoe valley, walks, climbs, the silver sand beaches and towns. The scenery is so amazing that driving longer distances to get places is stunning and a trip in itself. The house is really well equipped with lots of little extras being thought of, like blankets and hot water bottles, a laundry basket, bit and pieces in the kitchen, the cupboards stocked with games it’s the small things that count! Highly recommend, we loved it.

Well, well, well, what a property!

Amazing property in a wonderful location. Communication from Fiona was top notch. Friendly and informative and we were left wanting for nothing at The Old Schoolhouse. Cannot recommend it enough. We loved it so much and hopefully will be back. Our labrador, Brando, also loved it with plenty for him to do locally with lochs, glens, sights and smells. Just perfect. Sad to leave but heads filled with happy memories. Sláinte Fiona & Euan 😊

Great location with wonderful view

We stayed (2 adults, 2 children - 10 & 13 years) at the old school house for a week and can just highly recommend it. The house is wonderful decorated, has a very nice living room with a priceless view over the lake, is very clean, a well equipped kitchen with a dish washer, a separate room for the washing machine including a dryer (after a week traveling around Scotland we needed it), even toys and games for the kids, lots of literature about the region, a separate folder with things to do around, great location to explore this part of Scotland and a really nice host who gave us the feeling to be welcomed and supported us immediately if there were any questions. We felt immediately at home. This was for sure one of the best houses we stayed by now.

A special place!

Beautiful, quiet location and those views are absolutely stunning. The schoolhouse had everything you could want during your holiday. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils for every kind of meal. The bathroom with the underfloor heating was great. But my big guilty pleasure was the living room, log fire burning, sitting with a drink on the settee and just watching the sunset go down. We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave it just felt so much like home. Fiona is a very special lady and will go to great lengths to make sure you have a wonderful stay at the schoolhouse. The schoolhouse is well situated for lots of different activities or lots of walks, be sure to try the walk along the cycle track by the house, watch out for the wildlife on the big rocks near the cycle track. We came in April and had dry sunny weather but with a cold wind. The schoolhouse garden is quite large and the bench by the wall is lovely for listening to the calming sounds as the sea laps ashore. All in all we had a fantastic time and I hope that I'll be back at some point soon. I would highly recommend staying at the schoolhouse. A big thank you to Fiona for a wonderful time.

Super house for a family holiday

We had a great week in Kentallen. The house is really nice and very spacious. The lounge is massive, the kitchen is modern and well equiped, there is a utility room with washer/dryer and space to hang clothes. The bedrooms are big and nicely furnished. The house is modern, well thought out, well maintained and very clean. As a family we loved the fact that there were lots of games and toys, buckets and spades, footballs, a good Library for children and grown ups and a good selection of DVDs. The wood burner stove was a big plus as the weather was awful for a good part of our stay... Finally the owner did a great job of documenting the house and equipment, things to do in the area, local and not so local walks. This really helped us plan our stay. Probably the best rental we've had.

60th birthday with husbands and Sons

I wanted somewhere to stay in the Glencoe area with my family and I came across the Old School House. The views arw as seen in the advertisement absolutely stunning. Very well situated for hiking and a very well equipped cottage with a beautiful lunge and the log fire was bliss. Fiona our host went beyond to make my 60th birthday celebration really memorable. Would definitely stay again

Comfortable home in a perfect location

The Old Schoolhouse was the perfect spot for my group to explore the Western Highlands. The views from the living room were spectacular. The house itself was perfectly appointed for a comfortable stay. Fiona is very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic view over Loch Linnhe

Very comfortable house overlooking Loch Linnhe. Fantastic walking in Glencoe on our doorstep with Hollytree Hotel restaurant a short walk away. The house accommodated six of us and our dog with ease. Shops not too far away. This is a really great place to stay if you’re exploring Glencoe.

Perfect

A great place for a little holiday near Glencoe. The house was wonderful, so clean and all the amenities we needed. It was beautiful to sit outside in the evening and look out over the loch. It’s so close to so many activities, good for younger children and also older teenagers. Communication with the host was impeccable and I would love to stay there again.

We live and work in Edinburgh but have always loved the Scottish Highlands. We spent so many weekends and holidays exploring the west we decided to make a permanent base there. The house had been empty for years when we bought it and it has been a labour of love(and despair sometimes) to renovate it. As we have children at school we cannot use the house as much as we used to. It now makes sense to let other people use it and discover what a fantastic area it is.

We chose this house for its location and stunning views.
We have holidayed in most parts of Scotland but nowhere else can beat the variety of scenery and activities we have on our doorstep.
The Munros in Glencoe, the views at Port Appin, fresh seafood on the pier at Oban,cycling off road from almost the end of the garden,walking to the local hotel for a beer on the sun deck or pier,ferry trips,castles,history,fabulous beaches a bit further afield....We really do have it all. When the sun shines there is no better place to be.

We use the property a lot ourselves so we know it is comfortable and well equipped.
We want everyone to love the house and area as much as we do so we have left lots of information,maps,books,guides etc to make sure you have a good holiday.
The house itself is unique.The former schoolroom-now the lounge -gives it a 'wow' factor especially when watching the ever changing loch views.
