Beautiful property, well located for exploring the Dordogne and Lot
Property is set in a lovely location on the edge of Villefrance du Perigord. The property is well equipped and has everything that you could need. In addition to the sheltered and secluded pool area, there are a number of places to enjoy an evening glass of wine after a day's exploring. Highlights like canoeing on the Dordogne, Beynac, Castelnaud, Sarlat, Chateau de Bonaguil etc are all very easily reachable. Really appreciated the warm welcome and generous initial supplies from Tracy and family. Definitely somewhere we would recommend and would be happy to return to.

It was a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family! I am very happy that you and your friends enjoyed your stay and I would welcome you here again in the future. Best wishes, Tracy
La Borie Grande was the perfect place for us. A large private and very beautiful old French house equipped with everything you could possibly need and with gorgeous gardens to Potter around. The welcome basket of goodies was v appreciated after a long a drive. A lovely welcome from Tracy whom was always on hand if needed. We enjoyed watching the sun go down over the glorious views each evening on the deck and the pool was a godsend on a very hot week! Eating outside for breakfast, lunch and dinner with the amazing views was a real treat. While it feels like the house is lovely and secluded in the woods it’s only a 10 minute walk into the pretty village of Villefranche du Perigord for baguettes and groceries. The house is also in a great location for visiting the popular sites of the Dordogne . We would love to return and would highly recommend. Thank you Tracy for having us!

Beautiful!
This was our third stay at La Borie, and it is better than ever. Tracy has added to what was an already brilliantly landscaped area, to include a tree shaded bbq and pizza oven dining space, but better still a deck projecting out over the valley slopes with lovely views and comfortable furniture. Lounging out there after dark, watching satellites and shooting stars, with a back drop of the milky way and a glass of port in hand was wonderful.
The pool area, hidden away behind high hedges, is also lovely.
La Borie is a comfortable and spacious old farm house which feels more like someone's home than a holiday rental.
Villefranche itself is a 5 minute drive or a pleasant 20 minute stroll down through the trees. Small, old and quaint, it's worth the stroll to obtain fresh bread, or a coffee and ice cream. There are two modest mini-markets and a general store; enough available to buy in provisions for a few days.
We love this place!

Wonderful!
This was the second time we have stayed here. Everything was fantastic, from the house to the pool to Tracy (the owner), and the weather!!
We had a great time. We have two children aged 9 and 7 and there is plenty of activities on site for them. Tracy is super friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for her. She even helped us with our dodgy BBQ-ing skills!
The house is fully equipped with everything you could need and more, and the outside areas are superb
The local village has two small supermarkets, two bakeries and a couple of cafes. It is beautiful and quaint. We enjoyed getting fresh bread every morning.
I would recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a relaxing holiday.

Wonderful house, grounds, location and hosts
We enjoyed a wonderful week at La Borie Grande. We were an extended family group and the size of the house, different areas outside, and the gardens meant that we all felt we had plenty of space to enjoy together, or alone! The local town is lovely, and Tracy and family couldn't be more helpful hosts. A week just wasn't long enough!

An absolute gem!
We booked this property by the beautiful photographs and were amazed when we arrived just how stunning it is in real life! The house is just fantastic! The rooms are huge all with outstanding views over the countryside. The outside space was beyond our expectations, from the gardens to the outside pizza oven and bbq area to the gorgeous decking that we spent many a night sat watching the sunset while sampling the local vin! Having our own private swimming pool was fantastic and it was always spotlessly clean. Tracy and her family are so lovely and helpful, they went above and beyond to help us plan trips and were even there in an instant when we couldn't light the pizza oven. Please don't hesitate to book this wonderful property, you will not regret it!

Fabulous house
On arrival, we were kindly greeted by Tracy and a wonderful 'Welcome Pack'. The house is absolutely stunning. All the rooms are large and spacious as are the grounds which are kept so immaculate.
Our first week was my husband and I and our 4 children, aged from 4-16 yrs old. There was so much on site to keep them all occupied with a fab park, badminton and boules courts, and the endless walks in the woods and chasing after the butterflies and squirrels in the garden - it was hard to drag them away to see the sites around.
Coming back to the pool was such a delight! It is completely safe being fenced and gated and a hedge all around so you are totally private.
My parents joined us for our 2nd week and loved chilling out in all the shady places for 'book reading' and spending the evenings chatting while cooking on the bbq and watching the amazing sunsets and we have never seen so many stars!!!
We all agreed we have never enjoyed a holiday so much or felt as relaxed.
Thank you so much x

Beautiful with breath taking views
The borie grande was beautiful and clean with everything you could wish for and more. The pool area was perfect - safe for the kids (4 and 5) and relaxing for the adults. The views from the house are amazing and the dining area over looking the forest and hills was picture perfect. There was plenty to do in the local area (the caves in padirac definitely worth a visit) and the fact that the house was a 10min walk to the gorgeous town was perfect.
Tracy and her family were helpful, friendly and on hand if we needed anything, but the way in which the house was situated it felt like we were the only ones there.
I loved it and can see why Tracy has settled there in that perfect part of France.
Thank you for such a fab holiday.

Fantastic family holiday at La Borie Grande
We had a fantastic family holiday at La Borie Grande! Perfect for the toddlers as pool not at all accessible without adult present. Quite surroundings with fab local amenities and activities. Rural and away from it all, this was the perfect spot. Plenty to explore or just stay local and enjoy. Tracy and family were so welcoming and literature all very personal and insightful local knowledge which was super helpful. Night markets a must and very helpful local tourist office in Villefranche. Easy commute from Bergerac. Stunning local scenery. Villa is very well kept and lovingly restored, and owners mindfully unintrusive and easy going. Was lovely to have them close for questions if we had them. Highly recommend.

Truly wonderful !
From our initial enquiry through to our departure Tracy and her family helped to make our holiday such a memorable and relaxing 2 weeks. We arrived to a heatwave that lasted the 2 weeks but the house was a cool retreat and the pool was brilliant. There are many beautiful oak pergolas and shaded areas and the views and gardens are spectacular and beautifully maintained. It is a short walk into the town which is very picturesque. We would like to thank the whole family at La Borie Grande for sharing their home with us and being such wonderful hosts.

Highly Recomend
This was our 1st visit to the Dordogne and we couldn't have chosen a better property. My wife and 3 children fell in love with place. The house was beautiful, spacious and VERY clean! The grounds around the property are georgous and kept the children entertained for hours, especially with the fab play park - they never wanted to visit anywhere else! The pool was wonderful to relax in and we had lots of fun playing ball games and even had a midnight swim under the stars!!
As it is a kilometre from the road, it is so safe and peaceful we really will be marking this one for a re-visit!!
The owners are so lovely and welcoming without being intrusive and helped us out when we needed any info!!
Thank you for letting us share your piece of France with us.

Peace and Tranquility Assured
We returned to this wonderful location for the second time. The house was immaculately clean, extremely spacious and comfortable with three very good sized bedrooms, two excellent shower rooms and a lovely bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was very well equipped and the availability of UK/TV and WiFi were an added bonus. Where La Borie Grande is truly fantastic is in the lovely landscaped areas around the house, providing a range of outdoor eating areas, giving sun or shade in complete privacy and with stunning views over the valley. The addition of the new pool pavilion is a wonderful place to relax after cooling down in the crystal clear pool which is maintained daily. As always, Tracy and family were on hand if required without intruding on our privacy. I cannot recommend the property or owners highly enough

Relaxing, Beautiful, Peaceful!!!
We had a fantastic time staying at La Borie Grande. It is off the beaten track with endless gardens, field and woods, that our children could have so much freedom while we could simply chill out without having to worry about them and entertain them all the time!
The park was just great!! We loved the walks to the village to watch the world pass us by at a slow pace, and canoeing down the Dordogne river was a brilliant day out for us all.
If you are looking for an amazing house, with lots of space, and privacy, then look no more.
The owners are perfect hosts who respect your privacy but are on hand if you need them for any information!! Thank you x

About the host
Hosted by Tracy Scott
My husband and I and our 2 girls moved here nearly 18 years ago. As soon as we saw this beautiful house and the old stunning barn within the grounds, we immediately fell in love with not only the place, but also the surrounding area which is steeped in history and beauty! We simply just couldn't go back! It truly is a step back in time! The clean air, night skies, peace and tranquillity and yet just a stones throw from the more tourist areas and places to visit. Come and experience it for yourself you won't be disappointed!
Why they chose this property
Off the beaten track, yet close enough within walking distance to the local friendly village with plenty of shops, boulangeries, butchers, cafes, restaurants, mini-marts, bank, tourist office etc. No passing traffic, safe haven for everybody to enjoy the peace and quiet and all the wildlife and feel totally relaxed. A great base to do some serious sightseeing! Or to simply re-charge your batteries and finish that book you never find the time for !
What makes this property unique
Complete safety. The beautiful large gardens, the smells from the roses, honeysuckles and lavenders, listening to the tree crickets soaking up the sun and the most amazing views and sunsets and starry skies that go on and on forever..........
