About Donna Ellswick

Tom and I are young at heart retirees. After retiring from hectic but rewarding careers, we can devote more time to our hobbies. We enjoy skiing, sailing, and travelling. We are also old house lovers, having restored a number of historic homes. We are fortunate to be able to live on the East End of Long Island and also spend time in Park City and at our other vacation rental in North Captiva Island, Florida.

Donna Ellswick purchased this condo in 1998

Why Donna Ellswick chose Park City

Tom and I have been skiing for over 25 years. We enjoyed skiing the French Alps, Austria and the Rockies. When we first skiied in Park City in 1992, we fell in love with it and returned several times before deciding to purchase a ski condo. We think Park City offers an amazing variety of skiing, with seven ski areas nearby. The restaurants, scenery, and the friendly, laid back, attitude make it a place we look forward to returning to several times a year. Owning a condo has been great for us, because after a great day of skiing, we have a comfortable, stylish place to come home to. We look forward to spending the entire winter in Park City someday.

What makes this condo unique

The thing that sold us on our condo was the location. It is at the very edge of the complex, overlooking beautiful views in every direction. Because of the openesst you have the feeling of being in a remote ski cabin. But a short distance away is a clubhouse and great access to the Canyons ski area. Our condo is chic and stylish, and we think the perfect place to stay in Park City. With the addition of the Canyons golf course we are truly in the best spot. Right on the 13th hole.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Jessica and Karina from Miami FL

We are friends from high school and decided to make Sundance a girl’s trip. We were here the last 4 days of Sundance and saw 9 movies. Great experience. Weather was cold for us because our average in Miami year is round is 80. Had a great time, went to Olympic museum, snowmobiling, tubbing and dining. Great last night at No-Name Salon on Main Street. Didn’t ski one of us has bad knees and the other is resting for a marathon. Loved your place, wished it had a washer and dryer inside for convenience. We enjoyed our time here and may be back another time with each of our families.

Clean, cozy, and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in this Red-Pines condo. Location is good and is near the club house and not far from the cabriolet. Kitchen and one of the vanity areas had recently been updated. Bed was very comfortable and the blinds worked well to keep out the early morning light. All of the furniture was clean and comfortable. There are two vanity areas. Nearly a perfect place for my wife and I. It looked and felt very clean. I'd say the really outstanding feature is that it's just a very cozy and comfortable place. I'd say a great place for a couple or a couple with a child or two. My one caution would be that it would be kind of small say for two couples. But we enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Nice condo close to Canyons base with good amenities and lots of room. Well appointed and comfy.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a ski week and enjoyed the close proximity to Canyons/Park City as well as easy drives to Alta to the south and Snowbasin to the north. The property was very well maintained and we really appreciated the Jack and Jill bathroom. Also, the kitchen was very well stocked and we did not have to pick up many things at the store. Overall, a great stay, convenient location and nice property.

Nice Place

  • 4 of 5

This condo has nice views and is tastefully decorated- no artsy bird's nests and candles on every flat surface. OK there's a deer's head on the wall, but my grandson loved it. The mattress in the sofa bed should be replaced, but overall my wife and I were very comfortable and had a great time.

Owner's Response: Dear Douglas, I am glad you enjoyed our condo and decor. We are particular about decor as well and have tried to furnish it in a stylish upscale manner. Dennis, the deer has become a fixture and I am reluctant to move him out. But we will consider doing it if it a turn off to our guests. Thank you also for letting us know about the mattress. The couch is fairly new, but we will get a new mattress before the winter season. I hope you and your family will come back and visit next summer.

True to form

  • 4 of 5

This was a genuinely good rental property, as expected and true to the photos, it was very neat and clean. It's a cozy little rental with well documented instructions. The bed is definitely comfortable and the living room is intimate and warm. There were ample bath towels, that were nice and soft and the lotion was a nice touch as well. The dishwasher was very efficient and cleaned the dishes well. The fireplace was also a nice inclusion and quite frankly did a spectacular job in heating the common areas.

There were some minor house keeping issues and really nothing to make a big deal about. With a bit more oversight from the cleaning crew these minor issues could be easily addressed. We did end up buying two dish towels as there really was only one. The owner was made aware of the minor house keeping issue and lack of towels. I'm confident based on my interactions with the owner and the overall cleanliness of the home both with will be addressed.

It was winter when we rented and well, snowing quite a bit when we were there, we were hoping to find a shovel. However, to no avail, we could not locate one. Fortunately, the upstairs tenant seemed to keep things clear. If there had been a shovel, we would have been happy to do our share.

Finally not a big concern but I'd offer the sink in the master side of the bathroom unit is relatively short - it came up to mid thigh on an average size adult. This was - from what I could tell - the standard sink unit for those buildings. Yet, the owner may want to consider replacing as they did with the other sink.

Owner's Response: Dear Robin- Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review. Your comments and suggestions are appreciated, as we work very hard to make sure our guests are well provided for. I have spoken to our housekeeping staff and I am confident they will address the items mentioned. We had not thought of a shovel, but will provide one. We will be completely renovating the bath this spring and will adjust the height. It was standard, but will be higher. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope you return.

Great Rental at the Canyons

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful unit for us. The unit has been newly remodeled and has all the conveniences of home. The kitchen is well stocked with just about everything you would need. The 2 vanities made it convenient in the mornings when getting ready. The furnishings were very comfortable.

Looking forward to our return to the unit next month for more skiing.
