About Shoonagh Hubble
I first came to Collioure when I was a student in France some 30 years ago, and fell in love with the red roofs, pink sunsets and Catalan atmosphere. So of course, when my husband I were looking for a holiday home it was the obvious place to look. We love the fact that Collioure has superb weather, lots of great places to eat and shop, and access to both water sports and snorkeling. Our teenage daughters enjoy coming here because they can be completely independent, hitting the beaches during the day and Collioure's one and only nightclub, Indigo, at night! The weather is nearly always sunny and the area doesn't seem to attract the high-spending flashy tourists that head to the Cote D'Azur. It's relaxed and informal, and we love it!
Shoonagh Hubble purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Shoonagh Hubble chose Collioure
Easy to get to from the UK and rest of Europe, not full of English people, lovely to visit at any time of year. We love the house because it has an ideal location and is beautifully decorated. In fact, there is nothing by Ikea in the entire property! The garden is sheltered and the pool always a perfect temperature throughout the summer. The terrace at the front of the property is the perfect place to drink a sundowner whilst enjoying the views over the town and the sea, or to spend an afternoon reading and snoozing on the huge sofa. Collioure is the ideal holiday location - safe, sheltered beaches, authentic shops and restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere whether you're there in July or January. Everyone who has visited has fallen in love with both the town and the house, just as we did.
What makes this Villa unique
Quiet area with quick and easy access to the town and beaches. Great views both front and back. Very few houses in the area have so much space, whilst still offering lovely views and a tranquil setting. Beautifully furnished inside - all beds and bed linen from John Lewis and White Company.

Beautiful villa and perfect location
We had a wonderful week in this gorgeous house. Collioure is picture-perfect and the sea is crystal clear. The villa was extremely well set up for our family of 7..(kids, us and grand-parents), with enough space for everyone. We had our meals on the kitchen terrace looking out to sea and the kids loved the pool.
We went to the excellent market and bought fish, dresses, ceramics and jewellery; ate crepes; fished off the harbour walls; swam and snorkelled in the sea in the evenings; visited Le Racou and Pailles beaches as well as the wonderful marine reserve at Cerbere; had a tapas feast over the border in Figueres (great shopping) and enjoyed a day in Perpignan for art, architecture and meandering. All in all, an amazing week that finished too quickly. I'm sure we'll be back. Thank-you x
A fantastic family holiday in the most beautiful place with everything you could need, and more!
This house was absolutely perfect and from the moment we arrived it exceeded all expectations. The villa is beautifully laid out, wonderfully furnished and in a great location with easy access to the main town which is just stunning with beaches to swim from, cafes and bars to enjoy as well as lovely places to eat. The owners provided intricate noted which gave us everything we needed to know resulting in no time wasted trying to figure things out for ourselves, and we would highly recommend following the guidance closely! A fantastic pool meant that we could retreat from the beach and find peace and quite and the generous additions of football and table tennis tables and an entire 'teenage' den meant there was space for all of us to find a place to relax. Collioure itself is an absolute hidden gem and just so pretty. A wonderful twice weekly market in the summer, a stunning harbor and all you could need within walking distance of the villa. We could not recommend this villa more highly and really hope to return to do more of the owner's recommendations! Thank you for an amazing holiday.and letting us stay in your home.
A fantastically located house, just 5 mins from all the sights.Pool, terrace with a sea view. Lovely
A spacious property with 5 large bedrooms, all air-conditioned. The newly painted house is full of lovely art and well stocked with things to do - pétanque, table tennis and “babyfoot”.
The kitchen is obviously owned by a food lover, with everything from coffee machines, to paella dishes , orange juice squeezers and loads of presentation dishes.
It was hot when we stayed, so having the pool just a few metres from the downstairs kids sitting room (yes, there are two!) was very useful.
But perhaps our favourite bonus (apart from whiling away the early evenings on the enormous terrace) was the information about all the local - and quirky- restaurants that this couple favour as well as many local leisure activities and walks.
A great stay.
Wonderful property in a superb location.
Beautifully decorated and well equipped, this villa is only a 7 minute stroll from the beach/town and the views from the balcony are magnificent. Highly recommended.
Fantastic villa with picturesque views
We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Collioure. The location of the villa itself is ideal - with beautiful views across the vineyard, and a mere 5 minute walk down to the pretty town of Collioure and a further 5 minute walk to the small harbour and beach area with a plethora of terrific restaurants and tapas bars.
Home comforts in the immaculately presented house include a selection of books and DVD’s, there is a fully equipped kitchen, and the welcome information pack offers some great dining out suggestions, most of which we were lucky enough to try in our short stay. (We highly recommend booking le 5eme peche in advance – fantastic Japanese fusion restaurant in the old town). The pool and table tennis area was great on lazy afternoons.
The villa itself, apart from the fantastic location, is immaculate, spacious and comfortable and we would definitely return in the future and would recommend without hesitation.
Picturesque and full of character
We were a large group ranging in age from 18 to 58 and all enjoyed our stay at this delightful family house. The location, slightly above the town centre, provided a quiet setting (apart from the occasional train) and stunning views. A short ten minute walk took you to the small harbour and a selection of shingle beaches as well as good food shops and restaurants. Some of us were content to spend most of the time by the pool but others made the most of the spectacular trails and footpaths. The facilities provided by the villa are good, although a few more sun-loungers would have been welcome, and both the owner and care-taker were extremely helpful and informative. We would love to come again.
