On a clear day you have a spectacular view of the Outer Hebrides, and the night sky takes your breath away, as you are covered by a blanket of stars. Just a short distance from the photographers favourite, the Neist Point Lighthouse (Britain's highest cliff walk). The Crofter's cottage is over 100 years old, and has been newly refurbished to a high standard in a way that has retained its original charm and appeal. It still remains in the same family that built it, being passed down from generation to generation. An Creagan is a 10 min drive from the world famous Three Chimneys Restaurant, a 15 min drive from Dunvegan, and a 50 min drive from Portree. There is a local Post Office/ Shop and Tea Room approx 1 mile from the cottage. An Creagan is part of Isle of Skye Retreats, and the cottage can very comfortably accommodate four guests within its two generously proportioned bedrooms. Unfortunately, the cottage is not suitable for small children. We allow children from 6 years plus stay at An Creagan. The upstairs has a king-size bedroom and the second bedroom has two singles. All bedrooms have black-out curtains with Harris Tweed furnishings and high quality 100% cotton sheets. All the bedding is hypoallergenic (duvets are "all season" double layered). The main bathroom upstairs has an over-shower bath and under-floor heating. There is an extendable dining table in the living room (no separate dining room), and there is also an extendable table in the porch, where you can just sit, relax and watch the sea-eagles from the window. In common with most cottages of that period and style, the ceilings are low in places, so please mind your head, especially when climbing the stairs! There is ample parking and a large fenced garden area with outdoor seating and a BBQ for guests to use. The multi-fuel stove and under-floor heating add a cosy feel to the cottage for relaxed evenings in. There is easy to manage electric heating throughout the cottage. There is Wi-Fi for guests to use, and also Freesat satellite channels on TVs in the living room and master bedroom. An i-pod docking station/radio/CD and DVD player is available at the cottage . The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you will need for your stay, including washing machine, dishwasher, oven fridge freezer, microwave and refrigerated wine cooler. Guests can also access the Hay Loft (the upstairs area of the barn. This is ideal for walkers and cyclists to store and dry items. The cottage itself is only a short 5-10 min walk from Meanish Pier, so it is easily accessible for those who like to go boating or fishing. Whether you are visiting the enchanted Island for the wildlife, arts, photography, walking, boating or cycling, you will not be disappointed by this inspirational location.

Exceptional Cottage on Skye
An Creagan is perfect in every way. The inside of the cottage has beautiful furnishings and modern appliances. Everything is sparkling clean. The outside of the cottage has amazing views of the water, seals, eagles and sea birds. We loved our stay at the cottage and cannot wait to return!
Cosy, well-equipped modernised cottage in a stunning location
Lots of heaters so always nice and toasty. Really well-equipped kitchen. We spent a lot of time in the garden just staring out st the bay and valley - stunningly beautiful
Fantastic views, very well equipped and charming.
This beautiful cottage welcomes and pampers you in every little detail, from the dog towel and treat right at the entrance, binoculars, torches and a set up fire in the stove ready to start. Furnished with taste and plenty of tweed, super comfy beds, dvds, board games and a welcome hamper. The best I ever rented.
Practically perfect in every way
This is a beautiful, extremely well-kept property, and looks exactly like the pictures. It was incredibly comfortable and quiet. Our daughter loved the rabbits and sheep (the sheep are outside a fence, so no uninvited "guests" at your door), and the parents loved the views of the water. Really comfortable beds, spotless bathroom and kitchen--just what you want in a holiday cottage.
It is quite remote--almost 9 miles down a single-lane road with passing places--which makes it a tad inconvenient if you want to be out exploring different parts of Skye every day, but WONDERFUL if what you want is a quiet retreat. (And that drive isn't all that bad.) Both the Three Chimneys and the Red Roof are very nearby, so one need not worry about being too far from world-class restaurants. The kitchen is really functional and well-stocked if you want to eat in, too. (Worth noting, there is a clothes washer, but not a dryer. We were there on hot sunny days, so this wasn't a problem for us. If it had been cool and rainy, it might have been a challenge to dry clothes.)
All in all, a delightful experience.
Wonderful home with very up to date amenities and fabulous view. Beautifully maintained, quiet location just down the road from the world famous Three Chimneys Restaurant . When we arrived the fire was laid, there was a wonderful basket of local goodies and maps and very clear instructions on how to use everything in the cottage. Couldn't have been more perfect for two couples to base our exploration of the gorgeous Isle of Skye. Everything in the description is absolutely correct and the pictures are exactly what you will find the cottage to look like. The owner was so helpful and I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Skye. Don't miss Loch Bay Restaurant in Waternish, and The Three Chimneys for the best food. We loved the Oyster Shed near the Talker Distillery. Brought oysters home and had a wonderful meal at the house.
An Creagan is a coastal property, a 5-8 min walk to the water below. Common to Skye, it is a pebble beach (no sand).
Use of a car is recommended for traveling around Skye. It is the best and more time effective way to explore and travel around the Island.
1 mile to the nearest shop, 10 min drive to Dunvegan and 50 min drive to the main town, Portree.
A detailed list of good local eateries, and close-by activities can be found in the welcome pack in the cottage.
