Lago da Serra ligt op een werkelijk prachtige locatie op een heuvel en is genesteld in een unieke oase van de Algarve, omringd door een prachtig landschap.
Het landgoed beschikt over een privémeer, een beachvolleybalveld, prachtige tuinen met een eigen wijngaard en boomgaarden, allemaal in een beveiligd ommuurd complex van meer dan 20.000m2. Het complex heeft een bekroonde make-over en een opknapbeurt ondergaan om het met een knal in de 21ste eeuw te brengen.

De villa's zijn afgezonderd in hun eigen 7 hectare aan tuinen, te midden van een ongerept landschap, maar toch is het gunstig gelegen op slechts 20 minuten van de luchthaven van Faro, 5 minuten van zowel de bruisende straten van Loule en Almancil met zijn overvloed aan restaurants en cafés. Of u nu de voorkeur geeft aan de kosmopolitische Marina in Vilamoura, de stranden van Vale Do Lobo of een rondje golf op de beste kampioenschapsgolfbanen van Portugal, allemaal op slechts 15 minuten rijden met de auto, deze villa tikt alle vakken aan en is ideaal gelegen.

De villa is ingericht met een stijlvolle mix van designer en antiek meubilair en is versierd met verschillende originele kunstwerken. De slaapkamers hebben het ontwerp en de uitstraling van een boetiekhotel. We booked Lago de Serra for our large family holiday ( 17 of us ). Our first impressions didn't disappoint. We had seen the photos on the website but the property is even better in real life. We only found out just a couple of weeks before we left that the ownership of the estate had changed hands. It would appear that the previous owner had not been prepared to fix various issues and Steve, the new owner is now in the process of rectifying these.The plus points of the estate are the location, the grounds and the swimming pool. The accommodation itself is also excellent with plenty of space as well as being well equipped. It was amazing to wake up in the morning, open the blinds and patio door and stare at the vista down towards the coast. We hired a car for the week but the other members of the family used Ubers, which were reasonably priced and on time. We would recommend Barbocoa steak restaurant, which is close by. Despite one or two teething problems with the water, which I'm sure Steve is sorting out, we had a brilliant time at Lago de Serra had would recommend it as a holiday base for a large group.Thanks Steve for your excellent communication.

A Gorgeous Estate with Great Potential

The estate itself is gorgeous with an awesome main lodging house plus two separate places for more privacy, and a great pool! It was unfortunate that the amenities were lacking: flickering lights, a broken shower head, ants in all the rooms, not enough toilet paper, and some of the bedding needed cleaning. The main house also had a sour smell. Perhaps this is due to a transition in ownership. We found out the property was taken over on the day we arrived. Thankfully, Damien, a maintenance worker was there to guide us about keys, gates, etc. He was awesome! So was Diana, who helped us out on the first day. Since we were only staying four nights, we didn’t want to keep calling for things to be done, as it would have interfered with our trip. The pool was a lifesaver! An estate of this size and beauty should have amenities that meet higher standards.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sean’s villa. Would highly recommend to anyone with a big group, adults or family. All of the facilities were impeccable. The villa was very modern and clean. The pool and volleyball court were a highlight and would definitely book again.

Really great property. Kitchen well equipped, nice large bedrooms, lots of outdoor space for everyone to sit around. Few things were a bit “rusty” (think because we went early in the season) - things like washing machine didn’t work, but the host was very quick to come and help so that’s great! Thanks so much :) would definitely come again!

Excellent Property, 10/10

Our group of 18 had an amazing time staying at the estate. The property was very clean and the kitchens were well-furnished with plenty of utensils and crockery. It is private and secluded, but just a stone's throw away from local amenities, restaurants and beaches. Fortunately, it is also in prime location for Ubers and taxis should you not have a car. Sean and Diana were both extremely accommodating and friendly, and made the booking and check-in process extremely easy. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anybody looking to stay in the Algarve, and our group will definitely be back. Many thanks Sean!

Amazing - will be back!

The photos don’t do this place justice! The grounds (which are perfectly maintained) are large enough to make you feel like you have your own part of the mountain. Very close to beaches, bars and restaurants and extremely easy to order an Uber. We stayed with 17 friends and didn’t feel on top of each other at all. We ended up staying in for BBQ’s some nights as the villa was so nice. Sean and team were very easy to deal with and I would recommend staying here.

Perfect family stay

Family of 13, including 3 children, had a wonderful stay in this stunning villa in a beautiful setting. Communication with Sean (the host) was excellent before & during the stay. Plenty of space for a large group with the main villa, two annexes and the large grounds. Lovely seating areas on the terraces for evening gatherings & BBQ. Fully equipped kitchens & clean and tidy throughout on arrival. Pool a good size for the group but definitely needed the pool heating which we added (additional charge). Not much around within local walking distance especially if you have elderly or young in the group but we used Uber taxis for getting around which was easy enough, always available and a good price. This worked out much cheaper than renting a car/van for our group size. Overall, an excellent place for a group/family stay.

Dirty, ant infested and borderline dangerous property.

There is so little that is accurate about the listing of the property or of the quality of it. This property has been neglected and misrepresented to such an extent that this was simply the most unpleasant villa I have ever and likely will ever stay in.Sean the property owner was great in the build up to our stay but on arrival to the property it feels as though we were lied to about the condition of the facilities. Either he is totally unaware of the condition, or he is comfortable with it, either way it is a woeful way to treat people paying good money to stay here. The cleaner was there on our arrival. She checked us in and actually apologised for the property not being clean on her way out...The property was dirty, the kitchen and master bedroom were ant infested, the water didn't run unless you went down to the pool area to turn on the hosepipe and tap. This was required every time you then stopped using the water in the main house for any length of time.The pool area on arrival was disgusting and simply hadn't been cleaned for several weeks I assume. Including a green scum around the waters edge. Remarkably once the pool cleaners arrived 4 days in to our stay the pool itself was immaculate no scum, that said the wider pool area remained full of cracked tiles and missing grout.I can easily continue listing issues.But for being 10 minutes away from Quateira, Vilamoura and Loule as excellent places for us to retreat to, this holiday would have been unbearable.

Massive Wasserprobleme

Wir hatten die Unterkunft für unsere Hochzeit für 13 Erwachsene und ein Kleinkind gemietet. Während des gesamten Aufenthalts kam es zu massive Probleme mit der Wasserversorgung (Kein Wasser zum Duschen/Händewaschen, Abspülen und für die Spülmaschinen- und Toilettenbenutzung) auf Grund einer defekten Pumpe. Die Verwalterin war freundlich und schickte mehrfach einen Techniker. Das Wasser lief dann zwar, aber schaltete kurz danach wieder aus, so das die Probleme die ganze Zeit bestanden. Wir und auch ein gebuchter Catering-Service hatten dadurch sehr großen Stress und das auch noch an unserer Hochzeit. Wir hätten die Unterkunft so niemals gebucht und was nutzen 5 Badeszimmer, wenn der Pool die einzige Möglichkeit ist sich zu waschen? Abspülen und Kochen ging daudurch auch nur per Hand und mit gekauften Wasserflaschen (was bei 13 Personen sehr aufwendig ist). Der getahle Preis war hoch und mit diesen Einschränkungen nicht akzeptabel. Zumal wir einiges an Extrakosten (gekauftes Wasser und mit so vielen Personen essen gehen/bestellen statt selber zu kochen)hatten und ja auch beim Mietpreis die Wasserkosten für die gebuchten Tage und Personen enthalten sind. Auf unsere freundliche Email mit bitte um eine einvernehmliche Lösung und teilerstattung des Moetpreises antwortet Sean nicht. Auch FeWo ist nicht hilsbereit. Nun werden wir einen Anwalt einschalten, was uns sehr fremd ist und unsere Erinnerung an unsere Hochzeit immer negativ beeinflussen wird.

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit! Das Grundstück ist riesig und die drei Häuser sehr geräumig und modern eingerichtet. Der Pool und die Tischtennisplatte waren unsere Highlights. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Ach ja und W-Lan war auch super für uns - 12 Personen konnten parallel ohne Probleme arbeiten.

Amazing property with little optimization potential

We stayed 6 weeks in this lovely property with a party of 7 people and 2 dogs and we really enjoyed our stay. The main house and the 2 smaller pool houses offer a certain privacy but also lots of spaces to spend time together. The view from the property is stunning (you can see the sea) as well as the garden is well maintained (gardener is coming twice a week at 8… starting time can be shifted to a later start which we did ;) The reason why we did not evaluate the property with 10/10 is, that for the money we spend for the property we would expect a better quality of daily used things like the washing machine, the dish washer and the oven. Also we had little issues with the electricity. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sean‘s lovely property and can really recommend a stay as the mentioned points above will be optimized.

Villa exceptionnelle

Nous avons passé une semaine dans cette magnifique villa , le domaine est très grand , très bien entretenu et très bien équipé, la proximité de plusieurs ville (faro, Albufeira, quarteira ,villamoura) est un vrai plus ainsi que la facilité de déplacement grâce au taxi et Uber.

Lovely villas in a stunning estate

Lovely villas in a stunning estate, the photos just don’t do it justice. Great for family and friends to relax, spend time together and enjoy the scenery. Plenty to occupy the kids locally at the beaches and water park and many restaurants to choose from. Property and pool in great condition and Sean and the property manager were always on hand to help with any enquiries. We all had a fantastic time!

Beautiful villa in a stunning location

We booked Lago da Serra last minute due to cancellation on our original booking. Sean and Sara were so accommodating from the outset. The property is truly stunning and the photos don’t do it justice. Our children were in the pool every waking hour and if we couldn’t find them there they were feeding the koi fish in the lake or playing beach volleyball. We used the professional chef services for my birthday celebrations, Seb and his team were excellent. The food was incredible and ticked all the boxes. We loved our stay so much we have booked a return in August 2023.

We had such a fantastic relaxing week. We stayed in the main house and we could not fault it. It was beautifully decorated and it had everything we needed and more. The views from the house and the outdoor space were amazing. There was a lovely outdoor pool, lake and small manmade beach with a volley ball court which the kids really enjoyed. Did not disappoint!

Highly recommend! This was the holiday we had all been waiting for and it did not disappoint! We were a group of friends celebrating my husbands 60th and we just wanted to relax and play a few rounds of golf. Sean was very easy to deal with and communicated with us throughout the stay. Having not been to the algarve before, he suggested some fantastic golf courses for us to try (Pine Cliffs was a highlight), as well as some lovely restaurants - we even had a chef come to the property and cook for us! We had a fantastic time and we will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

Fantastic group holiday - highly recommended

We spent 7 days at the villa as part of a group holiday which had originally been planned for 12 adults and 2 children but changed to only 8 adults last minute following the introduction of quarantine in the UK, 2 days before we were due to travel. Sean the villa owner was fantastic throughout the entire process given the current uncertainties around international travel, he was in regular contact and allowed flexibility regarding the timing of balancing payments. The villa itself and the estate were as per the photographs on the site (awesome) and it was the perfect set up for a group trip, with the additional 2 outbuildings allowing enough space for all guests whilst still being close enough to be connected. The villa location is approx 15 minutes from both Val Do Lobo and Loulé easily accessible either via a hire car or Uber in the evening (tip if using Uber make sure you use the entrance by the Crest). Overall this was a perfect fit for our trip to Portugal, great location, stunning villa (and views), lovely pool and communal areas and everything needed for a holiday in the sun.

I’m excited to continue renting it out and build on what the previous owner, Sean, created — turning it into one of the true gems of the Algarve. My goal is to offer all my guests an unforgettable stay and help you experience the best this special place has to offer.

Almancil is a great area that caters for everyone. You are a stone throw from the town centre with its array of exceptional cafes and restaurants and a short drive to the stunning beaches of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.
It is perfectly situated for families and golfers who want to enjoy everything the Algarve has to offer but a nice distance away that you are not in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.
Local restaurants serve freshly sourced food at great value.
