La beauté de cet appartement est qu'il est au dernier étage d'un immeuble de deux étages seulement et a une position élevée avec une vue imprenable sur la vieille ville et les plages, de toutes les chambres.

L'appartement se trouve à seulement quelques mètres de l'ouverture du mur de la vieille ville et à 10 minutes à pied de la plage. Vous n'avez pas besoin d'une voiture mais il y a beaucoup de parking gratuit à la porte si vous en avez une.

Récemment meublé, repeint et mis à jour pour 2017, l'appartement est équipé de toutes les commodités que vous pourriez souhaiter, trois télévisions à écran plat, dont une UHD 70 ", un lecteur Bluray / DVD / CD avec des films. The views from this apartment are just as advertised...absolutely stunning! The location was perfect for exploring Lagos and the Algarve with our friends both on foot and by car. There were so many restaurants, bakeries, shops and activities to choose from close by. Being able to be on the water in minutes was a treat. We even managed a couple pickleball games which was fun to experience away from home !!

Wonderful views of Lagos

We had a fabulous time in Lagos. The apartment was very spacious, clean, beds comfortable and 2 bathrooms are so helpful for a family. It was close to restaurants and historic center and fairly close to the beach on foot. It was great that beach towels, chairs and umbrellas were provided. We would love to come back again in the future.

The flat was large, clean and bright, with a postcard view. All the amenities that we needed were provided. The location is ideal for visiting the historic district, and we had no difficulty finding parking right in front of the building.

Our time in Lagos

We enjoyed our stay at the apartment, for 6 weeks, which was perfectly situated just outside the walls of the city. The apartment was tastefully decorated and very complete. The views were spectacular. Our hosts were very accommodating. We were there in very cool weather and found it necessary to use the central heating plus the electric heaters. It was unfortunate as the weather was so cool, the radiator in the main bathroom did not work. Our hosts were quick to respond to any other repairs and left us a ton of information about the area. If we were return to the Algarve we certainly would consider staying in the flat again.

Great location, view, comfort

This lovely condo is located just outside the old city walls, which is perfect for a quiet stay but within minutes of the old town's amenities. The view over the red Lagos rooftops to the sea is stunning, made all the nicer by the large deck. And on windy days the sunroom was a perfect respite. Inside the condo is very well appointed and comfortable. Claire was very helpful, I would definitely recommend this property.

A luxurious appartment with amazing views

We had a wonderful week at Views of Lagos. The appartment is huge, comfortable and has all the equipment and facilities you would want. We ate all our meals on the balcony and enjoyed the lovely view. Our kids loved swimming in the pool and playing bat and ball in the outdoor space. Lagos has stunning beaches and lovely places to eat. We would definitely return.

Wonderful stay

This is our second visit to Claire's and Lou's wonderful apartment in Lagos. It was perfect for our family of four, lots of space, fully equipped with everything we needed, with amazing views and fresh breeze through the windows. The location is perfect - steps to the old town Lagos and a short Uber ride to the beach. The swimming pool is a huge hit with our kids. Claire's book of recommendations was very helpful and we tried many destinations and restaurants she suggested. We hope to back AGAIN!

Great Location

Loved everything about this property. Ideally located just outside the walls of the old town, it is minutes away from the many cafes, restaurants, bars and shops in the picturesque area. The apartment is on the upper floor of a building on a cul de sac. It is large, bright and tastefully decorated with every modern amenity, including excellent wifi and tv with many English channels. The deck is roomy and features a sun room and offers a spectacular view of the old town and the bay. The pool area is quite large with dedicated deck chairs for sunning and there is also a rooftop deck with a stunning view. Our hostess, Claire, was very helpful and went out of her way to ensure that we had a nice stay. The photos truly do not do justice to the apartment. We hope to stay again when we return to Lagos.

Fantastic apartment close to town and the beaches

This is a great apartment, just outside the city walls, so close to town. Only a 15 minute walk to the nearest beach. The apartment was perfect for 4 of us, lovely and clean with great facilities. Beautiful views from the balcony and the living room, a sunroom to sit in if it’s too sunny or windy on the balcony and a small balcony from the kitchen which was very sheltered. Our teen boys loved having Netflix on tv when they wanted to keep out of the sun. The pool area is lovely, clean and quiet, no fighting over sun loungers here! Lagos is a great city, very busy when we went in August with many restaurants needing booking in advance, great food, plenty of little shops and interesting people watching! I would highly recommend this apartment as it’s a real home from home! Claire was always responsive when organising our booking.

February 2023 in Lagos Stay Review

What was great: The place is lovely with an amazing high up view of the city and beach with lots of windows and light. The furnishing are nicely done and the place is spacious. We were just above the Old Town of Lagos so it was easy to visit all the restaurants and stores and see the downtown historical locations and the promenade. The kitchen was large with pretty much everything you need for cooking, and we used the washing machine a couple times although the cycle was short (otherwise takes hours in Portugeses machines!!!) No dryer but we were able to hang out our clothes outside on sunny days. Claire greeted us upon arrival, explained everything, and there is a great book where all your questions could be answered. Halfway through the 3 weeks the linens and towels etc. were replace and the condo was cleaned. Lovely cleaning lady! Lovely pool but too cold for our stay but would be great in the summer. Lots of hot water, but not drinkable. You need to use bottled water for drinking, tea and coffee. Pretty typical in Portugal. A couple of issues however. We had chosen the place for the central heating as we knew Feb would be quite cool, and we were told not to use it when we arrived. There were two small space heaters in the two bedrooms, and a heat pump in the lounge but the bathrooms, kitchen and halls were very cold all the time, and even the bedrooms got quite cool despite the heaters. I know electricity and gas are very expensive this year in the EU so I understand the concerns about cost but it was disappointing. And we felt cold most of the time. Some suggestions for improvement: the beds are HARD!! Like a board. We put blankets on top to soften them a bit but it was hard for sleeping. Easily solved with mattress toppers in foam or plush. Also the large bathroom has a bath/shower combination with a deep tub and a glass separator near the faucet and it was too difficult to get into and out of as there was no railing along the wall to hold on to. Probably should be added as you don't want anyone slipping and falling in the tub/shower. As a result we only used the tiny shower in the smaller bedroom. And with all the walking up and down hills I missed having a nice hot bath. Do note that it is a 15-20 minute walk to the beach down steepish hills through the Old town on cobblestones (so we drove several times and there is lots of parking). This rental will be perfect in the summer!

We were so happy to have you as our guests and really glad that overall you were comfortable and enjoyed your stay. I was concerned to hear about you being cold. Whenever we popped in to help you with things the apartment was incredibly hot so it didn't cross my mind to ask if you needed additional heating turning on. European guests are always concerned about being energy efficient and use very little additional heating, however I wish I had known so that we could have made you more comfortable. Thank you for the feedback about a rail for the bath, which we will address. With regards to the beds, again had we known we could have provided toppers as we have do have some, however, the feedback from the majority of guests is that they prefer the beds without. Fabulous location. Less then 5 minute walk to great restaurants and shopping. Super friendly locals

Overall we were happy with the property. No problem with parking for our rental vehicle. Excellent location. Beds were comfortable. Quiet neighbourhood. There were a couple of housekeeping issues. We had to reset hot water tank before each use or risk having cold showers. The handheld shower didn't hold securely in the wall attachment when in use. Could use a few more dishes and clothe hangers. Overall, I would recommend this property.

Wonderful Stay

We had a terrific stay in Lagos. The apartment is in an easy walking distance to the historic center - close to shops, restaurants, and the marina. Free parking on the street and nearby parking lot. The apartment is clean, quiet, and has incredible views! Claire was the perfect host - welcomed us, explained the apartment, and then left us to enjoy our vacation! Highly recommend!

Views better than advert and great location for town and beach

The apartment living area is bright with stunning sea views - photos do not do the view justice! The balcony is large with the same views - it doesn’t get much sun so if you want to sunbathe the pool area was always clean and quiet. The roof terrace was always empty too for another sunbathing option. Location is perfect, a few minutes walk into the town centre with lots of restaurants and shops and bars - something to suit all ages. The marina is about 15/20 minute walk depending on the heat! Showers were great, kitchen facilities perfect for nights in, living room very comfy with Netflix and huge tv! Claire and Lou were fantastic hosts, always on hand to help. Our only issue was that there is no air con in the bedrooms and the cool air didn’t transfer from the living room ac unit when it was very hot with no breeze - this made sleeping tricky at times. Otherwise, perfect. Thank you Claire and Lou!

Lovely Appartment

Thank you very much to Claire and Lou for allowing us to stay in your apartment. The apartment met all our needs and had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The views over the bay are great and it's location near the old town was perfect with easy access to the shops and restaurants. Our special experience in Lagos started with this apartment

Spacious, well appointed/furnished, fully equipped was just the start. Claire met us at the door and gave us a complete briefing on all aspects of the apartment and facilities, appliances, etc. She then gave us a very helpful overview of our location vis a vis the surrounding area and gave us great suggestions re local restaurants, sites, and distances/best routes to travel comfortably around the Algarve. Best of all...the VIEW from the apartment over the Ocean. And we were only steps away from the old town which we thoroughly enjoyed during our stay. We will be back soon! Beautiful villa with breathtaking views

My husband and I spent an amazing week in this two bedroom villa and wished we could have stayed longer. Claire and Lou were excellent hosts and responded to all my emails, texts and calls within the hour. Claire was at the Villa to meet us upon our arrival and as soon as we walked in and saw that view of Old town Lagos with the backdrop of the sea and beyond we were hooked. Claire was so warm and welcoming and made us feel at home immediately. She has compiled a very thorough information binder on the operation of all things in the villa as well as restraunts and things to do in the surrounding area. The master bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed, television & bathroom across the hall. The second bedroom has two twin beds, television and a ensuite bathroom. The living area is very nicely decorated and very comfortable. There is a 70" television with Netflix and many viewing choices, as well as a dvd library to choose from. There is an amazing wraparound balcony with views of the pool right below, the old city wall & town of Lagos & the sea beyond. There is also a sunroom off the balcony as an additional option with awesome views also. There is an air conditioner if needed, but with the villa being on the third floor if the windows are open the breeze keeps it cool enough. Being from Illinois we couldn't get over being able to leave the windows open all night with no bugs or critters coming in! We really appreciated the elevator for hauling our luggage and groceries and the access to the pool was great also. We had it all to ourselves and although it was quite hot, there was a constant breeze. We really enjoyed our time in Portugal and found the people to be some of the warmest we have had the good fortune to meet. We enjoyed everything about Old town Lagos....the Grotto tour, etc. We have been extremely blessed to have traveled extensively in Europe, Hawaii and the Caribbean, and we found Claire and Lou's villa to be one of the nicest and cleanest. We would love to return and will certainly recommend this villa to friends and family. Thanks to Claire and Lou for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Location, Location, Location

A very well presented and equiped appartment with fantastic views across Lagos and Meia Praia beach. Idealy located for all Lagos has to offer. We would use this apparment again if we go back to the Lagos area. Claire & Lou are good owners who give good customer care to their guests.

"It's a large enough town to be busy and have every imaginable facility and yet it is a walkable, relaxed town with lovely old streets, beautiful beaches and a year round holiday spirit. We love it!"

"We enjoy a walk around the old town in the morning and a quiet cup of coffee in one of the many cafes. If we get the chance we walk to the beach during the day. In the evenings there is an endless choice of bars, shops and restaurants to while away the evening."

We were lucky enough to find our Views of Lagos apartment a few years ago.

It is a very spacious top floor apartment. Of course the views are what draw you in immediately as they span a 180 degree vista, from the mountain of Monchique, across Meia Praia beach and the Bay of Lagos, right across the old town to the ancient city wall.

The loungeroom and balcony have prime views but the nice thing is that every room has a view of something - old town, new town and the old wall.

Being just outside the city wall, the old town is on the doorstep, which makes for great walks and easy shopping and dining. It’s also lovely that the beaches you can see from the apartment are walking distance.

It is rare to have the combination of views and location. Everything you see you can walk to. Within 30 seconds you are through the wall and in the old town with its cobbled streets and fisherman's cottages.

Even the locals agree that Lagos is authentically Portuguese so you can enjoy meandering around the old town, and still find great places to eat, live music and interesting shops.

Behind the apartment is the local neighbourhood where you will see how the locals live - how they shop and the bars and cafes they frequent. The local fish and fruit and veggie market is here. It’s a real slice of life experience.

At Views of Lagos you are central to absolutely everything . You can just relax around the pool or on the balcony, or take in many interesting local sights.
