About Michelle Alexander
I'm a Texas girl! And although my hubby, Matt (of more than a couple of decades) is from California, it didn't take him long to find his heart here. And we fell in love with this beautiful spot in the country! We've always enjoyed all kinds of "hosting", and we love sharing this with others. This place is a labor of love, and our guests can feel that.
Michelle Alexander purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Michelle Alexander chose Dripping Springs
We chose this property for so many reasons. And when we saw this spot, with the wet-weather tanks, beautiful oaks, and hill-country views, we couldn't wait to get here. There's nothing I enjoy more than morning coffee on the porch with an amazing sunrise or an afternoon on the swing under a big oak. And Dripping Springs is so charming, along with nearby artsy Wimberley just down the way. Such a neat, relaxed getaway from busy, groovy Austin!
What makes this Cottage unique
You can enjoy the peace of the countryside, with the ability to be "in-town" in 10 minutes or in the big city of bustling Austin in just over a half-hour. Wimberley is just minutes away, and Fredericksburg just an hour! As for the accommodations, It's not your ordinary place; serene setting, lovely linens, hand-picked décor, attention to the details that will make you just plain happy. You'll see! We have additional accommodations on this property, also listed on VRBO: The Guest Quarters (785910) and Live Oak Lodge (817896), as well as Lucky Star (892497), and the big one: The Country House (950087)!

A great quite place to stay. The facilities are very charming and there was not one thing we needed or felt like was missing.
Love to hear that, Kim! Thanks for staying with us and come back soon!
The property was nice
Love the environment, but the cabins are too close together and the furniture was not comfortable. We were annoyed by a barking dog, the other guests, and the exterior lights. The saving grace was that we found a fire ring away from the cabins with some privacy. Having other cabins on the property was not mentioned, only the main house was. IMHO It was too expensive for what was offered.
So surprised by your single-star review! First to address: our description absolutely does mention our other accommodations on this property, and at least a couple of the photos show another cabin in the background, so we are sorry that you were expecting to be completely alone here!
We are always happy to answer any questions or concerns a guest has, prior to booking, or while you're here!
Loved the quiet seclusion, beautiful surroundings & all the personal touches
Beautiful Cottage in the Hill Country
Awesome place, so quaint and beautiful. It felt like being at home!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Yay! Just what we love to hear! Thanks for the review and hope to have you again sometime!
My husband and I were staying to check out the area as we might make a move there from CA.
Matt and Michelle, the owners, talked to us about buying land, what to look for, etc.
They even gave us a tour of their beautiful property. It was breezy (even in July) and so quiet. Great home base for scouting all the surrounding areas.
Absolutely delightful little cottage. Impeccably clean and had everything you might need. Michelle was a gracious host, responding to me immediately and getting me items I requested within minutes. The cottage is on Creek Rd. which is a perfect cycling road. So, bring your bike and have a great time! I'll be back.
Thank you so much! It was great meeting you and we're so glad it was the little getaway you were hoping for!
We are minutes away from multiple wedding venues including Camp Lucy (down the street!), Vista West, Ma Maison, and many more. Easy access from 290 means we're in the country, but you can get "downtown" quickly, with dining, entertainment, shopping, and more. The sweet town of Wimberley is also close by, with multiple restaurants and shops. The charming town of Fredericksburg is also a big attraction, along with hiking at Enchanted Rock. Want big action? Austin is about a half-hour drive with all the nightlife!
We have additional accommodations at The Alexander, also listed on VRBO (#817593, 817896, 785910), so we can also accommodate groups! We love the peace and solitude here. Our closest neighbors are the deer and bunnies you might see in the evenings! There may be other folks here, too, so we expect everyone to enjoy the peace and allow others to do the same. Also, this is the country! Watch for deer or other animals on the roadways, especially at dusk. While the road to our entry is paved, our driveway is not, so it may become muddy in very wet weather. But you can pull right up to the sidewalk to get to the cottage! Bring those practical shoes if you want to do some walking on this acreage. And Dripping Springs is a good place to sport those cowboy boots! No coolers are allowed inside the house, but you're welcome to keep one on the front porch.
