Glacier View Getaway on the Kilcher Family Homestead in Alaska the Last Frontier

Your adventure awaits.. see update at end. This is our guest cabin built on the Klcher Homestaed. You can hike to Kilcher Beach and have a picnic only a mile away.

This cozy guest log cabin awaits you with awesome views of Kachemak Bay, Homer Spit and pristine glaciers, abundant wildlife and a ribbon of hiking and cross-country skiing trails through the peaceful Kilcher Family Homestead. It is a great place to get away from it all after a long day of fishing, to curl up with a great book, complete an art project or just relish the quiet serenity (in this case in early mornings and late afternoon/evening).

Glacier View Getaway is fully equipped with everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable including a full-size kitchen, kitchenware and linens. There are two comfortable bedrooms, Jacuzzi bathtub, dishwasher, propane stove, washer and dryer, deck furniture and propane grill.

We are building our dream home nearby beyond the spruce trees.

We loved staying at Glacier View! Being surrounded by nature with sweeping views of Kachemak Bay was so wonderful! We also loved the sandhill cranes and the moose that feasted on the meadows surrounding the cabin.

This is a lovely spot. You really feel like you have gone back in time and homesteaded in Alaska. Beautiful location. Everything great. There were Kleenex and paper towels. Washer and dryer inside the Glacier View cabin- very handy. Good sized closets and pantry. Just to avoid any disappointment- the MBR has no window coverings if you are light sensitive. Steps to upstairs are steep if you have mobility issues. Otherwise, it has everything you need and some lovely walks on the property.

We loved our stay at Glacier View. The view was amazing. We saw a moose and her 2 babies walk across the property and we saw a coyote on our walk to the beach. Two sand hill cranes performed their mating dance for us. Our host was accommodating and the cabin is adorable. Highly recommend staying here!
