Guestbook comments from the manager

My family and I stayed here for my graduation weekend. The firehouse was a lovely, unique, aesthetically inviting home away from home. between the futon, couch, and two beds, the four of us had lots of space and the location offered many walking-distance yummy dining options. The drive to Boston took 20 minutes with light traffic, and the T-station was a short walk away. To our warm, eco-friendly host: Thanks for the memories and sharing your creative Fire House project!

Great Thanksgiving week stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for one week with my one-year-old and four-year-old and husband. They were enchanted by the firehouse and there was plenty of room for them to play and just be kids.

The firehouse is chock full of memorabilia and Americana. The hosts do a lovely job of providing a history of the firehouse (technically a chemical house) and summarizing area attractions.

Two upstairs bedrooms are cute and comfortable. Kitchen was well supplied with all the tools we could need for in-home dining. Open floor plan on the ground floor, again, very conducive to a stay with children.

Only tough issue was that the old stairs are steep and winding. I had to make sure the kids slowed down to go upstairs and down.

Would stay again!

What can I say? It was so different from anywhere I’ve stayed. Decorated perfectly to fit it’s history. There was everything there we needed. Close to Boston. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the area to stay at this charming Firehouse. Owners were wonderful. We had no problems with anything while there Loved it!

Great historic location for a family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Our family, including 3 teens, stayed here for several days in July 2017, and we really enjoyed this unique location. We enjoy vacations that include a mix of history and fun, and staying in this historic firehouse was perfect for our family! We appreciated the information the owner provided on the history of the building, local restaurants, and transit information.

This is a great option for those with a family of 5-6, where a single hotel room isn't enough, and a rental such as this is a more economical option and gives you the experience of living in a typical Boston area neighborhood. The house was well maintained, nicely decorated, clean, and we appreciated that the linens were included. We took advantage of the free parking spot at the house and utilized the subway to quickly access Boston and surrounding area. We'd definitely recommend this location to others wanting to visit the Boston area!

Choose this Place!

  • 5 of 5

This was an amazing place to stay on our trip to Boston for a Red Sox game. Jon and Lisa were very accommodating. This Fire Starion is so, so cool and we couldn't have picked a better place. There were five of us and there was plenty of room.

To get around, the train station is just a few blocks away and takes you anywhere for a small fee. We did Uber from the game and it was a reasonable rate.

If we make it back to Boston, we will absolutely choose this spot again Thank you for for sharing your home with us!

Loved the Firehouse

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying at the firehouse! We loved the decor and the history of the place. Jon & Lisa are great and are readily available if needed. They offered tips on getting around the Boston area and suggestions of places to go. Jon gave very good directions to the Idle Hands Brewery which was just a 15-20 minute walk from the Firehouse. Would definitely stay there again if in the area and if available.
