Character and history abound in this utterly charming duplex furnished apartment, in metro Boston near Logan Airport. Awarded for outstanding achievement in historic preservation, the apartment has been completely renovated with loving care, incorporating architectural details and décor that hark back to the building’s rich history as a firehouse. The rooms are chock full of nooks and crannies and charm galore. The gleaming hardwood floors and 11 foot ceilings give an airy, spacious feel as a family friendly vacation rental for Boston visitors. The open concept first floor features a fully equipped kitchen with beautiful wood cabinets and a living room area with flat screen TV and desk area perfect for computer time. There is also a ½ bath and a full bed in a corner away from the living room area. The second floor has two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath WITH CLAW FOOT TUB AND SHOWER. Central air keeps you comfortable in summer, and environmentalists will appreciate the solar heated water and eco-friendly products. Located close to biking and hiking trails, playgrounds and state parks (bike storage provided). 4 blocks to the bus or 20 minute walk to public transit, or drive and park to another metro in 10-15 minutes. All take you Boston’s historic sites, Tufts University and MIT. History buffs will delight. (NOTE: STAIRS TO BEDROOMS A LITTLE STEEP.) Off street parking for one car, must be reserved. We loved our stay at Chez Fuego. What a unique rental property! It was just as described and had more than enough room for our family of four. A great location for exploring both Salem and Boston. Salem was an easy drive and the nearby train station was easy to access for a day trip into Boston. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and I enjoyed sitting out on the deck area to drink tea in the morning. Jon was very communicative with arrival and departure instructions and took the time to show us around and share some history of the restoration with us. We would love to stay again if we were in the area!

We really enjoyed staying at the firehouse. The accommodations were great and there is a lot of interesting wall art. Very clean, comfy beds, really great. Owners were amazing as well.

This little firehouse is so amazing and not so little, Lots of space for everyone. We loved the few days we stayed. And the owners were so friendly. We will definitely stay again.

Boston getaway

Unique property located in a quiet area. Host met us upon arrival and graciously showed us around. Clean, comfortable and convient. Short walk or drive to restaurants, grocery and metro transportation. We would definitely stay here again.

An oasis in Boston!

So much about the Firehouse was awesome. It was quiet, even though it was in a busy neighborhood. The garden and parking spot behind the building were incredible, so we didn't have to worry about street parking. The owners, who live next door, were super friendly and let us in to the apartment. We didn't hear much noise at night and could sleep very well. So much history and so unique! The central A/C also worked very well even though it was north of 100 degrees outside!

Felt like home away from home

We had such a great experience at Chez Fuego. Not only was the space beautiful, clean and comfortable but the owners were so friendly and helpful. We were close to wverything yet away from all the big city traffic. Thank you so much for everything and making this stay so relaxing.

Great and unique property

As advertised....clean and organized. Loved the fire station and owners were good to work with. Stairs can be a challenge, so you must be fit and able to climb a bit, but manageable. Owners were easy to work with. Would stay again.

Wonderful stay at chezfuego

We enjoyed our stay in Malden. The home has been lovingly restored. It was a great place to relax after spending a hot day in Boston. It was close to the subway which made travel easy. The house was clean, beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. Jon and Lisa were great to communicate with. When we’re in Boston area, we would definitely stay there again!

Gorgeous home in Malden

This gorgeous restored Firehouse was a perfect getaway for our group of adults. The property is maintained beautifully and the owners provide everything needed. The beds we’re comfortable, the house was spotless! The owners had great advice on how to ride the train and commuter rail. They also provided great advise on places to eat and things to do. The location is perfect whether your visiting Boston or adventuring to Salem! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Boston Vaction

We stayed 6 days with friends two couples. Rented a car, drove to Salem, Newport Rhode Island, and Cape Cod. We also visited Fenway Park for a game. We did take one day to visit the downtown area. We used the rail system in and out of the city, no issues would recommend. Overall fun time Firehouse and property managers pleasant and easy to work with.

Excellent Stay!

This was our first family trip to Boston and we had such a great time…in part to this property being so wonderful. The owners were more communicative than most while still giving us our privacy. The place was so charming and had amazing history, if you’re into that! Also, the location was perfect for everything we did while we were there. We went to multiple historic sites in Boston and even went out to Salem for a day. It felt like we were 15-20 minutes from everything we wanted to do. Would highly recommend this place and will most likely stay here any time we’re visiting Boston.

What a great stay in a little piece of history. The fire house, Chez Fuego, was cute and comfortable. The location was convenient to Boston and other areas by train or car. The neighborhood was quiet, walkable and we felt very safe. The stairs leading to the upstairs full bath and two bedrooms are a bit steep, so if you have mobility concerns, this one may not be for you. BUT, if you don’t, I highly recommend this wonderful home. The owners are very gracious and were always a phone call or text away if we needed anything.

What a fun and unique apartment to stay in with combined family. Everyone had their own space and could gather in a central space if desired! Loved the idea of it being a restored firehouse-preservation of these are so important!Location was great for traveling to Boston and Salem. Public transportation in Boston is easy to maneuver and get around with!!Jon was easily accessible as a host which made the entire stay very comfortable!Would definitely recommend-and will stay there again in if we ever get back that way!

We loved our stay at this restored fire house! The space feels incredibly spacious and comfortable and everything was clean and welcoming. It was fun to see all the vintage details throughout and there were great books and games for entertainment. The AC worked well and it was great to have a washer and dryer. We enjoyed the little back porch as well and saw some good sunset views. The hosts were very friendly, communicative, and super helpful when we had some changes to our travel plans and other questions.
