When you arrive at this picturesque property you will find yourself nestled in the middle of a cove between Point Gratiot park and Canadaway Creek on 1 acre and 200ft of beachfront on Lake Erie. This listing is for our wonderful 1000sq ft 1 BR/1BA upstairs apartment with a separate side door entrance. A balcony with an amazing lake view , walk in shower with a heated bathroom floor , fully stocked kitchen and 55 inch LED tv are highlights of this unit. A King, Queen and 2 futons are included. This upstairs unit is part of the original Hequembourg estate. "Harminnie" was the original name of this mansion from Major Harry and Minnie Hequembourg (Neighborhood named after him down the street) whom originally owned the entire bay from Canadaway creek to Crooked Brook creek, and was a major contributor to the development of the area. He has an amazing background/history and upon arriving you will have a booklet with original pictures of the house and information about a camp he used to run for children in the early 1920's and many photos documenting the history of the house.
On the beach you can spend time hunting for beach glass and driftwood, lay out and catch some sun or take a 10 minute walk down to the Dunkirk Boardwalk at the harbor to enjoy a bite to eat, a cocktail, or satisfy a shopping craving with several different shops. Dunkirk Harbor also offers a marina and a public launching facility to access Lake Erie.
Do you want to go fishing? Take a charter out of the harbor or drop your line in and try to haul in a big one from the mouth of the creek, which is less than a half mile from the house.
