About Vince & Patricia Griffin
We moved from Texas in 2010 to retire on the lake to be able to see unmatched sunsets and be close to family in Paris, Tn. We look forward to sharing this lake living experience with you.
Vince & Patricia Griffin purchased this Cottage in 2015
Why Vince & Patricia Griffin chose Dover
This property is perfectly situated such that it juts out into the lake enabling lake views on three sides of the property especially in the winter when the leaves are gone. We purchased it and completely renovated it so the inside could be enjoyed as much as the outside. This is a special lakeside setting situated close to the junction of the Tennessee River, the Big Sandy River, Standing Rock Creek, and Short Creek with a Wild Life Refuge just across the lake. The lakeside cottage is located on the widest section of Kentucky Lake.
What makes this Cottage unique
The "lakeside cottage" has been decorated with a coastal theme bringing together the colors of driftwood, water and sunlight. The hill the cottage sits on provides great lake views and steady breezes from the west and serene valley views from the covered porch on the east.

Absolutely, without a doubt, rent this home! Beautiful-fresh clean. Peaceful, relaxing. PADDLEBOAT!!
First of all, this place is perfect and the owners are awesome! Very attentive but not obtrusive.
My two sisters and I took our Mom to this lovely home to celebrate her 75th birthday. We ALL rocked it in the paddle boat. Yes, even my Mom! She’s spry and always up for some fun. It was very cool paddling along the river’s edge, in and out of coves. We deemed one “Turtle Bay” because there were about 20 water turtles sunning on the bank and on a fallen tree. We cannot wait to return in summer and do some kayaking!
The mornings were peaceful and serene. Ducks, geese and many other birdsongs filled dewy morning air as I watched a few barges pass by... And the sunsets were spectacular!
If I can post pics, I will. My younger sister took just shy of 200 pics. Yes, seriously. I think half of them were sunset pics.
This place is the best we’ve been after many lake home retreats.
Look no further. This is the spot!

The home is a place to relax. Enjoy life and the fishing was great, the home was perfect, the view,,, spectacular and All you need to bring your food
What a fabulous Lakeside Cottage!!
The pictures do not do this home justice. It is directly above the river with a view from almost every room. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for your stay except spices and ice. Make sure to grab groceries and supplies in town before heading the last 10 miles to the river. No doubt Patricia has a knack for decorating because everything about the place is beautiful. The bed was comfortable and met all of our needs. The deck on the back of the cottage is great and we used it a lot. We enjoyed collecting shells along the river and even walked up on a rattle snake, so be careful. This was truly the peaceful working getaway we were looking for and really appreciate Vince and Pat sharing their lovely cottage with us. The owners live just up the hill and are eager to help with anything that may be needed. They were wonderful to work with and I look forward to going back. The ONLY thing that would improve the Lakeside cottage is WIFI. Using our hotspots on our phones uses a ton of data and was intermittent at times and was sometimes challenging....but did work. If you're looking for a beautiful, comfortable, peaceful, relaxing vacation that is directly on the river, then this is the perfect place! Go enjoy nature.
Sherrie, we are so glad you had an enjoyable vacation even though the "Spring" weather was not the best and you had to bring your work to the lake! Patricia had a good time putting a coastal theme in the décor of the cottage and appreciated your kind words. We are looking forward to your return when the weather is warmer and you can more fully enjoy the water and the surrounding country-side. BTW, we are adding a cell signal booster to the cottage to provide stronger faster data speeds for cell phones / hot spots. Also there are two sources of ice at the cottage. The refrigerator icemaker for standard beverage usage and a local young entrepreneur with a commercial icemaker for large coolers. Thank you for your great review.
Very nice house with a wonderful view
Great place with great owner
Jim, we sure enjoyed having you, Coy and the others stay at our Lakeside Cottage located on the channel of the Tennessee River at the widest section of Kentucky Lake. Hopefully it was a good central location to stay for the Kayak Tournament. We look forward to your next visit. Good luck in all your tournaments.
Beautiful serene property that was the perfect get away! I highly recommend!
I was looking for a weekend get away before I deployed for a gathering of my close friends and family and this place was all I could ask for and more! The location, waterfront veiw, and aesthetic interior was perfect. To top it all off, the hospitality of the property manager was incomparable! This was the perfect spot to spend my last few days in country and I highly recommend this for anyone’s lake get away!
Christine, Pat and I are glad you had an enjoyable reunion with your friends and family before going out of the country. Pat and I will continue to pray for your safety as you serve our country. We look forward to your return visit when the weather and the water is warmer and you can enjoy more water sports. Thank you for the wonderful review.
Clean, bright, and fresh
We will be back. Three inches of snow kept us bundled inside. It was such a great place to stay, we can't wait for a summer visit.
Stephanie, thank you for your positive review even with temps in the twenties and snow and ice all around the lake edge. While beautiful it definitely inhibits your fishing! Pat and I are looking forward to seeing you in the summer when you can fish, float, kayak and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. June and July bookings are filling up we look forward to receiving yours.
