About Adam Bersin

We live in Cherry Hills Village, CO (Denver suburb) with our three high school age children. I am an attorney and real estate developer, and also produce independent films. You can see a bit about that and learn more about who we are at We are always looking for great scripts!

My wife and I and purchased the one acre undeveloped property on which Highcliffe Lodge stands in 2014, which had been owned by the same family for 60 years. We fell in love with the aspen grove and ancient boulders on the property, and the amazing views of the Gore Range!

We set out to create a richly Western-themed vacation lodge that was authentic, rich in quality and fantasifull in design and decor such that family and guests would feel transported to a totally unique Old Western lodge in the woods, of course with all the modern amenities and creature comforts our family enjoys. So Highcliffe Lodge is not just some second home -- Highcliffe is a true destination property created with passion and vision, and all our guests absolutely love it (please be sure to read some VRBO reviews!).

The design and construction of Highcliffe Lodge took three years, and Highcliffe is the first true log lodge built in Vail in the past 20 years. Highcliffe is iconic in its presence, quality of finishes and attention to detail, and we hope you will come be our guest!

Adam Bersin purchased this house in 2014

Why Adam Bersin chose Vail

The beautiful acre of land beneath Highcliffe was one of the very last virgin parcels in Vail, and has outstanding views of the Gore Mountain Range and abuts the White Forest National Park to the rear. Most importantly, it sits on a charming residential street with Gore Creek only a one-minute walk away, making white water rafting trips, fly fishing, and nature walks along its banks easy with no driving required. Fantastic waterfall hike begins 500 feet up the block.

Special attention was paid to find indigenous stone and artwork to represent the Rocky Mountains and its splendor. As a family we love the hustle and Internationality of Vail Village and all its restaurants, and great skiing and shopping, so we were looking for a perfect location for easy, fast access to the Village, but also wanted a more private exclusive experience to retreat to when we tired of the bustle of the Village. It was important that the location allowed for our early teenage kids to be able to independently bike, walk or take the free Town bus to the village whether to ski or just people watch by themselves.

What makes this house unique

Privacy, location and truly enchanting environment. Plenty of yard space for kids to run and play games, even has an antique wagon for kids of all ages to take an imaginery wagon train ride. Private mountain in back yard, with trails and observatory. Amazing views, and plenty of wildlife roaming (birds, foxes and even wild pigs, elk and occasional moose). Plenty of decks and balconies to enjoy fresh air and al fresco dining. A Mountain lodge in Vail, luxuriously decorated and appointed in Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch style, with its own state-of-the-art private movie theater and mountain!

Almost Heaven as John Denver was so apt to say.

First off I want to say, Skiing In and Out is way overrated. At least it is when you can stay one exit from the Village in one of the most well appointed homes you could ever dream of. Folks, if you are spoiled and like the finer things in life, look no more. This is the kind of home that you have to "pinch yourself" when you walk in. If you're looking for a home that will offer up the consummate family retreat, look no further. The pictures don't lie and Adam, the host, is the absolute best. He is very attentive to your every needs. Stop looking, you won't find a more complete get-away home in Vail, do it, do it now before you lose your dates.

Highcliffe is the perfect place for your entire family to stay in Vail!

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a fantastic week at Highcliffe with our family of 13, ranging in age from 6 months to 67 years. This beautiful and spacious log home has something for everyone! There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for four couples and the awesome bunk room was a big hit with the two and four year olds. The gourmet kitchen was perfect for those of us who love to cook, the high-tech theater room was a nightly destination for our movie buffs, the fire pit was the perfect spot for the little ones to roast marshmallows, and the jacuzzi tub was great for relaxing at the end of a long day spent hiking and fishing. The owner personally greeted us upon arrival and thoroughly explained all the high-tech details of the house, as well as the best things to see and do while in Vail. The home was meticulously maintained and had every amenity we could have wanted. We look forward to spending another vacation at Highcliffe in the future!

Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated a milestone anniversary at Highcluffe Lodge with longtime friends. Wow, were we ever impressed. The Lodge is even better than advertised. Our guests enjoyed playing ping pong, pool, and fuzeball in the garage. We loved movies at night in the theater and hot rubbing on the patio. What’s not to like?! Adam was such a gracious host, checking in with us daily. We have such wonderful memories of our week at Highcliffe! We’ll definitely visit again!

Best place in Vail!

  • 5 of 5

This is the second of what has become an annual spring break retreat at Highcliffe. The home is amazing and after returning we loved it more the second time. The pictures don’t do the place justice. The amenities are 5 star and Adam is extremely responsive to any request. We used to stay at the Ritz in Vail but we never will again. Highcliffe is our new home away from home every March. We have made memories of a lifetime there and can’t wait to go back next year.

Amazing place. Everything first class!

  • 5 of 5

Everything we read about Highcliffe was exactly what we got...and more. The property was first class in every way. Owner met us, gave us a thorough tour, showed us everything necessary to enjoy the property and answered are calls when we had questions. Words will not do justice to the experience we had at Highcliffe. It wa marvelous. Steve Russell

If you want to be anywhere in the Colorado mountains, this is the place where you need to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Highcliffe Lodge is as beautiful as the photos depict and delivers all that it promises. It is a five-star home that was thoughtfully designed and built for families. The log construction (you can't call it a "cabin" in any sense) is mixed with every modern amenity and entertainment feature you could hope for. Together, these two design features make the home welcoming and warm, yet provide upscale conveniences and unique areas that make Highcliffe one of the most rewarding places my family has ever stayed in. My family (8 adults and 6 children) enjoyed every inch of this home. The kitchen (where all families hang out) is spacious with dining and breakfast areas -- we could all eat together with very little crowding. The appliances and utilities were first class, making kitchen time fun and easy for everyone. Every room was exceptional -- fireplaces, couches, seating areas, views of the mountains and the Gore Range. It was hard to decide where you wanted to watch TV, read, or just visit. But making this home truly special for families, Highcliffe has one of the best home theater set-ups I've ever encountered. A massive screen and projection unit make watching any program, as one of my grandsons said, "really cool" . And the audio system is fabulous. The kids were in this room constantly -- they could have stayed in there the entire trip. But they didn't -- they often went in the next room to play ping-pong, pool, or foosball. What a neat game room! Something for everybody, big and small. All of this may sound like a gigantic ad for Highcliffe Lodge. Good. It's intended to be. The property is simply wonderful, and our family's "post-Christmas Christmas" was a great success because of the location, design, and functionality of this home. A final word: this property is special in part because of thoughtfulness of the owners. Yes, the design is great, but our trip was made extra special by Adam and Ana Bersin. They care about this home and the guests who stay there. Every detail was made easy by them, and when questions arose, there was an immediate reply. They wanted to make sure my family's trip was a success, and they accomplished that.
