Oceanfront~Families & Pets welcome ~Renovated~AC

Scituate is a quaint seaside town that offers the charm of Cape Cod without the traffic. This friendly community boasts a beautiful harbor with unique speciality shops. There are grocery stores, a movie theater, a basketball court, a bowling alley, golf courses and many restaurants that will appeal to all ages.
This recently renovated cottage is situated on a private section of Sand Hills Beach and can accommodate 4 parked cars on the property. The beach is primarily stone studded but changes with every storm. Beach is accessed from 6 steps off the seawall and beach stairs are not available in September and October. (All beach photos are taken from the patio, water shoes are recommended.) A sandier public beach is 6 houses away. And there are several other public beaches within a 10 to 15 minute walk from the house.
The first floor has an open floor plan. And the well equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. There is a half bath with a stackable laundry unit off the kitchen and an outdoor shower head. (not enclosed). The dining room seats 8 comfortably and is open to the family room, which has A/C, a ceiling fan, comfy seating and a large screen TV above the fireplace. Games,toys,movies, puzzles, cards, wireless speaker and more can be found in the entertainment unit. And a wall of windows showcases the panoramic views.
A sliding glass door leads to a covered porch/patio and the open ocean. The patio has plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas, corn hole game, kayak, paddle board,life jackets,outdoor checkers and a propane grill.
The second level has a full bath with tiled shower stall ( no tub) and 4 modestly sized yet private bedrooms. The 4 bedrooms have A/C window units, closets and ceiling fans. 3 bedrooms have flat screen TVs.
Hardwood and tile floors along with white washed wooden ceilings are some of the updated finishes. The entire cottage has Wifi and is also heated. It is not available during the winter or for long term bookings. Rent based on 7 guests. Extra fees for the 8th guest will be applied. The sleeping arrangements can accommodate a MAX of 8 guests, including children and infants. Larger groups should keep in mind the cottage has limited space in bedrooms. And one indoor shower. (1-Queen)( -3 Full)-(2 twin )(1pack and play. )max 4 children Please tell us the number of guests and the ages of any children. We want to be sure the home is a good fit for your group. Fees- $150-cleaning required. $100 linen/towel. If unable to bring your own. $200 pet fee,if you bring your furry friend. $100 Extra guest fee (8 guests.)

Load and turn on DW. No need to unload. Renter agrees to rental agreement. Extra charges for pets and guests count over 7
Empty trash. Renter agrees to follow house rules found in home binder and agrees to waiver of liability. No noise between 10 pm and 8 am.
The agreed guest count will be enforced. Turn off a/c when room is not in use. Guest assume liability for injury illness or loss of property.

My son got married in Scituate and his in laws stayed at 8 Oceanside...the lighthouse. It was nice to be so close and the house was lovely. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. The house is fully stocked with a great back porch and patio overlooking the ocean. Nice that the cars are parked behind the house and not exposed to the ocean spray.

I stayed at this beautiful property with my family (six adults) for six nights. The house is very comfy, nicely decorated and has everything you need. The owner was easy to reach out. Although, we did not have any issue during our stay.The house is located right on the ocean with beautiful ocean view, specially the sun rise view. There are few beaches near by but we mostly used the Museum beach which is at walking distance. There is a small convenience store near by which was very useful. We also walked to Scituate Light House (1 mile away from the house) and downtown (1.5 mile away from the house) everyday. It was fun to explore the area. We drove to Nantasket beach mostly everyday. It is about 25 minutes away by beautiful scenic drive through Scituate and Cohasset. We had a wonderful time at this house and I would recommend it if you are looking for a home with ocean views.

We had an amazing stay here! There are beautiful ocean views from the living room, deck, and two of the bedrooms. The house was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. They had everything we needed- the word that kept coming to mind was "well-appointed." Every time I thought "I wonder if they have a....(kitchen implement, etc.)" they always did. Communication with the hosts was great. They always responded quickly, and proactively reached out to us when there was local news that might impact us (possible incoming storm, etc.) Can't recommend highly enough- would love to stay there again!

Chillaxing

I needed a break from work and the yellow cottage by the ocean was perfect. It’s a lot larger than it looks and the view is amazing. The sound of the waves crashing and sitting on the covered porch was great when the sun got hot. The AC and ceiling fans were greatly appreciated when the humidity kicked up. Our hosts thought of everything but we couldn’t find the fire pit which wasn’t a big deal. The kids played games, corn hole and explored the rocks. Thank you so much for a wonderful week!!!

Perfect house on the ocean!

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful house on the ocean. Fell asleep every night to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. Woke up to beautiful sunrises and drank coffee on the back porch watching the ocean. Even enjoyed a seal that would come every day and float out in sight of the house. Everything was clean and well stocked with things that we would need. Communication with our hosts was always easy and they got back to us quickly with any questions. There was a little concern about hurricane Lee coming close and they were accommodating if we needed to change our stay and let us know where things were if we needed them. Would highly recommend this house if you are wanting to stay in the area. We would definitely stay here again if and when we come back to the east coast. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

It's the little things...

What a way to spend the day. Our family would wake up and to the sounds of the waves where we would then enjoy a home cooked meal on the patio gazing out at the beautiful ocean. The kids could walk down to the beach and play then end the day watching the olympics, a perfect stay. But what I enjoyed the most was the little things the house provided to make your stay so warm and inviting. From the Keurig coffee machine and all the kitchen supplies needed to help feed my family, to the washer and dryer, not to mention the plenty of sleeping space, kayak, and beach supplies. The house was nicely decorated and felt up to date and current, a breath of fresh air! From the time I walked into the house until the time I left I felt at home. Thank you!!!!

Breathtaking sunrises!

My family and I vacationed in this home the end of summer. I’m not a morning person but this house changed that with the spectacular sunrises. Never been to Scituate before but the town is amazing and everyone is SO nice! Super close to many attractions and even took my boys to a baseball game at Fenway one night. Only challenge are the rocks if you have toddlers.

Beautiful and Pristine

What an incredibly welcoming place! We spend a week with our kids and grandchildren every year and I don't think we've ever been in a house that felt as much like a home and as little like a rental as this one did. It was absolutely beautiful, with everything we could possibly need. We had beautiful weather for the most part, and happily spent it on the patio and in the rocks. There were several good restaurants just a short drive away, and we really enjoyed the lighthouse and its jetty.

Perfect Family Getaway!

We loved every minute of our vacation! We spent all of our time relaxing and playing on the back patio overlooking the ocean. This house has everything you need and the location is perfect. We brought way more stuff than we needed to - the house was well stocked. Advisory for families with young children - the ocean was too rough for our toddlers to swim right at the house, but other beaches are just a short walk away. The beach is very rocky so not perfect conditions for toddler (sand) play but they had countless hours of fun on the patio using the rocks to make a mini golf course, load them into their dump trucks and coloring them with markers! There is also a stand up paddle board and paddle boat for use. Most nights were spent roasting marshmallows around the fire. The neighbors on both sides were so incredibly kind and welcoming. One of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had with our children; we are already looking forward to rebooking again next year!

So close to the water!

We absolutely loved this house....will be renting again next year. Great for kids and adults alike. The view is absolutely breathtaking, neighbors are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Scituate is a laid-back and friendly community, with a home away from home feel. Most of the residents live here full time. And many of the homes remain in the same families for generations. The town has everything you could want in a New England beach vacation, without the hassle of Cape Cod traffic.
This cozy cottage is a short drive to many New England tourist attractions.
Home is available from May thru Oct.

What makes this property unique

We try to keep the home well stocked, including condiments, spices, paper products cleaning, supplies, soaps and detergents. All you really have to bring is food and clothes! And there is also a grocery store nearby if you'd like to food shop after arrival
You can go fishing or crabbing right from the private beach.
Don't forget your water shoes.
