Wow! What an incredible property, everything you could hope from a Provencal property and more. It is kitted out beautifully, the interiors are stunning, beds super comfortable, clean as a whistle, gorgeous outdoor area with everything you could possibly wish for. fontvielle is utterly charming and so local which was a huge plus for us as we’d rather avoid rhe more touristy areas. Owner James was on hand for any questions and utterly charming. Could not praise this place more highly.

Amazing two-week family stay at this stunning house!

We recently enjoyed an amazing two-week family stay at this stunning house! The spacious and beautifully decorated living areas immediately made us feel at home. The bedrooms were cool and comfortable, ensuring restful nights. The local area was fantastic, made even more convenient with a car. Our morning ritual included a quick three-minute drive to the bakery for freshly baked pastries. Our days centered around the exceptional pool area, with well-maintained cleanliness every Saturday. The cleaning staff and gardener's regular visits ensured a worry-free vacation. Galia, our host, arranged pre-arrival groceries and gave us a personal tour. James, the owner, went above and beyond, even driving three hours to help us operate the oven and giving us many suggestions on attractions tailored to our 14 and 11-year-olds, He even treated us to a visit to Les Beaux, a local beauty spot. Acting on his recommendation, we embarked on a kayaking adventure just 50 minutes from the house. It was breathtakingly beautiful, we all had a fabulous day out and created memories that we’ll treasure forever. Dining and shopping options were plentiful, with English-speaking locals enhancing the experience. The superb weather, staying consistently above 30 degrees celsius, offered a delightful escape from English humidity. In summary, this house exceeded all expectations, offering an extraordinary and luxurious getaway. We wholeheartedly recommend it and are already dreaming of our next visit!

Au bonheur la chance !

Arrivée Samedi 16h00, Visite extrêmement rapide des lieux, explication sommaire de l'utilisation des locaux et de ses accessoires, "d'après les anciens locataires, la cuisinière ne fonctionna plus, mais je pense qu'ils ne savent pas s'en servir...", une des phrases de la conciergerie, puis elle s'esquive... Dimanche matin nous découvrons une piscine non nettoyée, avec une eau trouble, nous contactons cette conciergerie et là plus personne jusqu'à la fin de semaine... piscine impraticable et verte de vase. 38° sans piscine ! Nous avons eu plusieurs problème que j'ai réglé en bricolant un peu (Vive les vacances !!). Conclusion : superbe demeure, mais service ZERO... A la place du propriétaire, j'aurais un peu honte de prendre une telle somme pour un service si bas. A éviter !

Another enjoyable stay

We are a family of four and have stayed at this lovely house for the last couple of years with friends each time. We have found that this house works very well indeed for us. As well as the comfortable bedrooms (with some of the best beds that we have seen in a rental house) there are extensive communal areas- there is even a separate TV/ playroom for the kids. Everything is well maintained and of a high standard. The outside areas are good with a pleasant pool and outdoor seating area. The layout means that even when you are messing around in the kitchen you can still keep an eye on the pool. I can wholeheartedly recommend this house and the area that it sits within. I know that we will be back.

Absolument magnifique

Cet endroit est magique. La maison est extrêmement grande, beaucoup plus que ce qu’il n’y paraît sur les photos. Elle est décorée avec énormément de goût. Très agréable à vivre. Tous les détails y sont. Une cuisine débordant d’ustensiles qui donne envie de cuisiner, des canapés si confortables qu’ils invitent à la sieste, la salle télé pour les enfants, les roses et la lavande attisent les sens, le babyfoot et la table de ping pong, la grande piscine pour bien s’amuser... Tout y est pour un moment magique de vacances. Mille merci pour tout !

Fantastic holiday En Provence

We had a wonderful time visiting many different parts of the region. As the villa is also located close to the village center, it also makes for easy walking in. The villa is furnished to a very high standard and has everything required. Our correspondence with James (Owner), Galia & Eric also worked flawlessly. If you're looking for a well furnished, high spec villa in a peaceful area, we'd thoroughly recommend this villa to stay at.

Sejour Idillyque

Nous avons passe un sejour fantastique, une villa bien entretenue et propre. James, le proprietaire est tres sympa et toujours pret a vous aider. Son livre d'acceuil est remplie de bonnes informations concernant la maison et les environs pour visiter. Cote cuisine et bbq: ustensiles et gadgets a volonte!! Le village FontVieille est charmant avec des bons petits restaurants, et les villageois sont acceuillants et sympathique.

Truly beautiful and luxurious property

We had a fantastic stay at this gorgeous property. The house has been renovated to a very high standard whilst keeping its original charm, beds are large and exceptionally comfortable, lovely big baths and powerful showers. The garden is beautiful, roses and lavender, with a dining and lounge area shaded under a tree plus a great pool. As a family with a baby and a toddler, this house worked very well for us.

Beautiful house in a delightful area

First impressions were of a beautifully renovated Provencal Mas set in immaculate landscaped grounds with a lovely pool. We were met on arrival and given a tour of the property, which confirmed that no expense had been spared in creating a tasteful and luxurious home. The beds were huge and comfortable with fine linen bedding and the three upstairs bathrooms were lovely. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was a welcome luxury as daytime temperatures were above 30 c. The kitchen was beautifully and simply styled whilst fully equipped with everything required for creating proper meals , although more time was spent on the terrace outside utilising the high-quality barbecue. There was a huge and comfortable living room (with TV with English and French channels) that remained cool due to the traditional thick stone walls. The garden was beautiful and quiet with two separate eating areas. The pool was lovely, with an electric cover and very comfortable loungers. Fontvieille (15 min walk / 2 min car - parking free and straightforward) is a traditional stone Provencal town with charming restaurants and good shopping for basics plus twice weekly market. The property comes with comprehensive welcome pack including details of local sights. We particularly enjoyed the Chateau Des Baux (fortified castle plus amazing cave art show - 15 mins), kayaking down the Sorgues river (40 mins) and a trip to the Camargue and coast (45 mins) to see wild horses and flamingos. Overall a fantastic holiday in a beautiful area enhanced by the outstanding accommodation. Highly recommended!

Hi I am James, I am a lawyer working in the City of London and divide my time between London and Les Alpilles.

I have been coming to Les Alpilles since 1999, first to climb the limestone rocks, then to bike ride the trails and local roads and for the last nine years to spend time with my daughter Clarisse, whom is fortunate enough to live here.

I have done my share of travelling over the years and what has drawn me back to Les Alpilles time and time again, is the magnificent landscape. Small bare limestone mountains, scrubland, pine and oak forests on the foothills, mixed with fields cultivated with olive trees and vineyards.

This is Provence at its finest, authentic, deep in style and refinement!
