A Great Northern Michigan location close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Crystal Lake, Frankfort.
The Wayberry Cottage, built in 2006, is a quiet retreat on 15 wooded acres surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. Located just 3 miles from the village of Lake Ann and 15 miles west of Traverse City, the Cottage offers up-north privacy and peacefulness with city conveniences nearby.

Approximately 10 miles west of the Cottage is Lake Michigan where you can explore all the beaches, water activities, sand dunes, and lighthouses Benzie County has to offer. Other area lakes are also within minutes of your enjoyment.

The Wayberry Cottage is beautifully modeled after Northern Michigan cottages from the early 1900s while embracing all the comforts and benefits of modern living. Whether spending your days sightseeing or playing golf at Mistwood, a 27-hole course only 3 minutes away, come back to enjoy the hot tub or just relax on the screened-in porch while reading a good book. The Wayberry is sure not to disappoint.

We had an amazing weekend at the Wayberry Cottage. Jennie was so friendly and inviting offering so much information and an easy experience with check in, making sure we were having a great time all the way through wishing us a safe travel home in a snow storm. The cottage is so lovely and spacious, the trees and the dirt road made for a beautiful chilly walk in nature and we finished the evening with a warm soak in the hot tub. We will definitely be back for another beautiful weekend!

The property looked like the photos and was very clean. We had 6 female friends stay in the house and it worked out well. The hot tub felt great after doing a local Half Marathon. We really enjoyed the front porch and the peacefulness of the property. Only down side was the lack of dishwasher so we had to wash dishes by hand which wasn’t a big deal, but we wished we brought paper plates with us.

Picture perfect setting! Beautiful and quiet location, perfect for our relaxing girls trip. We enjoyed staying in the home and playing games, sitting in the hot tub and by the campfire, as well as checking out local attractions and downtown Traverse City. It was just what we needed and we will definitely be back and hope to make this an annual trip!

Centrally located

We all had a great stay and were very happy with the property. We played horseshoes, made s'mores one night, sat in the hot tub due to participating in the M22 challenge, and we all played a game or two of pool. Very nicely decorated with plenty of seating for many people. We only had 8 with us total, but 12 could easily be done as well.

Beautiful cabin

The cabin was beautiful and clean. The beds were comfortable. We stayed with a few soccer families for the weekend for a soccer tournament. We really enjoyed our stay and had plenty to do with the kids. They enjoyed the hot tub and playing cards and board games. We truly wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the quiet and peaceful area of the cabin.

We loved everything about our stay at Wayberry Cottage. Its tucked quietly in the prettiest woods but still near so many great spots- beaches, restaurants, shops and the dunes! The space was perfect for our family and friends ranging across all ages. Highly recommend!!

Great Up North Getaway

What a beautiful property! Everything was clean and well-kept and the acreage is just gorgeous. It was private and cozy and everything our family wanted for our vacation. Matt & Jennie were easy to communicate with and very helpful. Looking forward to future visits!

House in the Woods

Our family enjoyed the quiet and privacy at Wayberry Cottage. The week passed by so quickly as the house is situated between Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and Traverse City. The house is the perfect get away!

Enjoyable Escape

Loved the cottage as it is secluded and peacefully surrounded by tall pines. The game room is nice as is the hot tub off the basement. Would definitely return.

Girls shopping trip

Family Wedding

Had a wonderful time at the Wayberry Cottage, the cottage had everything we needed to have a very comfortable stay. The property was very clean and organized. As a family we traveled to the TC area for a family wedding but plan on returning next fall and will definitely seek out the Wayberry Cottage again. The host Jennie and Matt were very responsive to all questions. We were sad to leave, but will be back.

Beautiful Clean Perfect House

This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get away and to visit Traverse City. Close to all Traverse City’s attractions. The house is immaculate and comfortable; beautifully decorated well-maintained, and extremely accommodating for everybody’s needs. We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were professional and friendly, great communicators. No complaints whatsoever!

Wonderful girls weekend away!

We traveled to Wayberry Cottage for a girls weekend to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday. The cottage is immaculately clean and exactly as pictured. I arrived at night and it reminded me of Mel’s cabin in the tv show, “Virgin River”. It’s the cutest place! The cottage had everything we needed; multiple gathering spaces to talk and play games (both indoor and outdoor), a well stocked kitchen, plenty of beds & linens, laundry, and lots of information about the area tucked in the kitchen. It’s a short drive into Lake Ann as well as easy, beautiful drives to Empire, Glen Harbor, and the Traverse City areas. Thank you for being wonderful hosts!
