Be our guest at this beautiful Northern Michigan vacation home. This 2,000 square ft, 4 bedroom, 2 bath lodge style home is nestled among towering hardwoods and offers scenic views of Cedar Lake. The interior features knotty pine, exposed log beams, ceramic tile, and a cozy fireplace.

Enjoy watching wildlife roam through the yard from your 100 feet of private frontage on Cedar Lake. The home is thoughtfully designed with family fun in mind and includes separate areas for adults and children, making it comfortable for families and multi-generation groups.

THE HOME
The main great room features an HD TV with Roku, a DVD player, and a DVD library, making it a comfortable space for relaxing after a day on the lake.

The walkout basement includes a pool table, board games, an HD TV with Roku, and a PlayStation 2 with games. This lower-level space is ideal for kids, teens, and casual evening entertainment while allowing adults to enjoy quieter time upstairs.

THE LAKE AND LOCATION
Cedar Lake is a peaceful no-wake fishing lake, ideal for morning coffee kayak trips, fishing with the family, or simply relaxing by the water. It is quiet, scenic, and never crowded.

The home is off the beaten path yet centrally located in one of Northern Michigan’s most desirable vacation areas. Located just west of downtown Traverse City, you are only minutes from Empire, Glen Arbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Old Mission Peninsula. It is an excellent home base for exploring everything Northern Michigan has to offer.

Frontage is typical Northern Michigan soft sediment (mucky). It is excellent for fishing but not sandy for swimming.

ABOUT THE PONTOON BOATS
As a free bonus for our summer guests, we offer the use of one of our pontoon boats. These boats are clean, well maintained, and functional. They range in size from 18 to 24 feet and are older models with 25 to 35 hp two-stroke motors.

They are ideal for relaxed sunset cruises and family fishing outings. Guests with basic boating knowledge and familiarity with two-stroke motors will get the most enjoyment from them. Full instructions and technical assistance are available if needed. Please see photos for a typical example of the pontoon boats.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
A starter supply of paper and soap products is provided and is typically sufficient for a two-night stay for smaller groups of two to four guests.

SEASONAL NOTES
Fireplace available Thanksgiving through April 1.

For winter stays, an all-wheel-drive vehicle or front-wheel drive with good snow tires is strongly recommended.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
1. Start first load of laundry (can be either linens or towels). 2. Wipe excessive spills on surfaces.
3. Return furniture to original places. Please leave inside furniture inside and outside furniture outside. 4. Clean and empty the BBQ grill into provided ash can only.
5. Clean up after pets (including HAIR IN HOME (and "doo-doo" in yard).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Smoking damages the the home. There will be a $200-$500 Cleaning Repair Fee depending on the level of damage. No parties or events

Had a great time on Cedar Lake fishing, boating, kayaking, fires, golf, cards, cornhole, and also trips into Traverse City. Enjoyed the surrounding area on Grand Traverse Bay and Lake Ann. The cabin and pontoon boat were excellent for the week of fun with family.

Great Spring Break in the woods!

Our family of 4 (plus medium-sized dog) had a wonderful 5 nights here in the woods. We enjoyed how far away from everything we felt while at the cabin, but how close we actually were to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and more.

We had a wonderful stay! The kitchen was well stocked. In the morning, I would watch the sunrise through the trees, over the lake, get the coffee brewed, and have a nice breakfast before heading out for the day. In the evenings, we watched some football, played pool and enjoyed a campfire. The beds were comfortable. Since there were only 3 of us, we utilized the main bedroom and the loft bedroom. The location was quiet, secluded, but also close to many activities and sights in the area. Anything we wanted to see or do was a 10 to 30 minute drive. I wish we had a few more days just to stay and enjoy the property.

Nice cabin, enjoyed our stay

Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay here. The woods are peaceful and kayaking on the lake was fun. When I first saw the list of extra things to bring like soap and TP I was disappointed that we had to pack extra, but we ended up finding a lot of what we needed left at the house by previous guests. There is a dollar general five minutes away so I would recommend seeing what you need first and grabbing it there. Overall we would be happy to stay again!

Wonderful Michigan Getaway!

Our stay was great! Cozy cabin, clear lake for swimming, loved kayaking and swimming off the pontoon. The home is situated between Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes area. We loved our outdoor adventures and the cabin was great for our indoor rainy days too!

Great wolf water park getaway

Best vacation spot ever

We stayed for 4 nights and let me tell you we did not want to leave. We have been all over the United States and this was by far our favorite spot we have ever stayed in. Beautiful cabin, beautiful private location, with a Great Lake and pontoon boat. Would be perfect for a girls weekend retreat, guys weekend retreat or even just a get away for the family. Pretty much 20 minutes from everything you want to travel too. We hope to stay there every year. Could not have had a better trip.

Great House! (exactly as described)

We really enjoyed ourselves in this charming home. The owner’s instructions/descriptions were spot on so please pay attention to them. We really hope to come back when the weather is nicer so we can take advantage of the lake, boat, etc…. The driveway could be easily missed at night so it’s best to arrive durning the day for checkin.

We had SUCH a good time this weekend at your cabin! The view was our favorite! & the kids loved the game room down stairs. What an amazing property

We stayed for easter weekend and it was an absolutely wonderful stay. Weather was cool but the light snowflakes falling on the lake was a beautiful view from the balcony. Our pup fell in love with running back and forth down the path to the lake. And the home was incredibly cute (quote from my wife) inside and out. Finally, thank you Lizzie for the excellent communication. We can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer

Cozy winter getaway

This place was amazing! Our family of 5, plus our close friends, stayed here for a fun winter getaway. It was such a cozy little retreat for us! The gas fireplace warmed us up after ice fishing on the lake, snowy walks, and the kids running around enjoying the snow covered woods outside. Our dogs loved just sprawling out in front of the fireplace, which kicks off a very good amount of heat. The cabin was very well stocked, warm, and has very cool floor to ceiling windows facing the lake. It was also easy to find and well marked. We will definitely come stay again! Thanks for renting out such a cool place.

Perfect family getaway

This cabin was better than I anticipated. Sometimes I worry lakehouses will be gross and not taken care of, but everything here was in perfect shape and made us feel right at home. There was plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and 1 baby. We loved that they had everything we need, from life jackets, to a girdle. There was a pack-and-play already there but I didn't realize it and we brought our own. If I was to improve one thing it would be to have lawn chairs that we could bring to the beach. The hosts were very nice and had lots of instructions as well as recommendations for things to do. We can't wait to come back.

Cozy during a Blizzard!

Our family group of 7 adults decided to risk it and arrive just before the start of a 2 day blizzard which was predicted to leave up to 26" of snow. (Be sure to listen to the advice to have an AWD vehicle for the snow covered roads!)The cabin was warm and perfect for our group. We cooked and played pool, watched a dvd from their selection. We went out on one of the blizzard nights to the local bar and got pizza. The other patrons were all friendly and it was a fun night with everyone braving the storm and enjoying the night. We did bring extra blankets which the instructions suggested and we were glad we did. All of the house suggestions are important to heed. We did need them all. We slept in comfortable beds and there was a nice amount of space for us all. The massive window in the main room was beautiful for watching the dramatic weather unfolding outside!
