Luxury two bed apartment situated in The Monastery building of a converted Benedictine Monastery, set in 20 acres of private gardens on the shores of Loch Ness. In the heart of the Highlands, this sympathetic conversion is an ideal base for exploring all that Scotland has to offer. Whether you are searching for outdoor adventure, or simply just want to unwind, this is the place to do it. From white-water rafting to whisky trails and ceilidh evenings, you'll quickly find that a week is just not long enough!

Struan apartment has wonderful views over Loch Ness and the Monastery gardens and it has been furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The entrance hall with its beautiful oak paneling is spacious and tastefully decorated. The beautiful open-plan lounge is furnished to a high standard and gives the feel of a traditional hunting lodge, and there are an abundance of original features. The high ceilings and large windows give this property a light and spacious feel. All rooms are well proportioned and decorated with exceptional attention to detail. The two bedrooms are the epitome of comfort and style with sumptuous soft furnishings; the beds in the master bedroom can be arranged as a super-king or twin. The spacious lounge offers the remaining 2 sleeping places on a double sofa bed. The two bathrooms are high specification with Hansgrohe fittings, slate tiles and under floor heating, providing extra comfort.

The property was everything we expected from the reviews and more . Incredible views from the bay window spotlessly clean extra comfy beds. We all loved it and didn’t want to leave. Oct Trip

Great location, apartment was good size for 4 of us. Finished to high standard. Couple of little issues, toilet cistern broken in bathroom and staff tried to remedy but couldn’t replace so out of use. TV needs upgraded to Fire/Netflix option as wifi good. Fire safety doors difficult for kids so more door stops required. Would stay again next year or Xmas.

Stunning location

The apartment is located in a most beautifully converted monastery, with stunning views over Loch Ness from the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The master bedroom was a good size with a very well appointed bathroom and everything was spotlessly clean. The swimming pool/sauna/steam room were also very nicely appointed and just a short walk through the cloisters from our apartment, with bath robes provided in our room. Sadly, the oven didn't work properly and despite several phone calls and a visit from an electrician, the fault was never properly resolved during our stay. Since this is a premium self-catering apartment, we felt that this detracted from what was otherwise a lovely place to stay.

Beautiful unique apartment

We spent 6 nights at this apartment and have had a wonderful time. The apartment is very spacious and well equipt. Lots of towels left for us to use and tea/coffee, milk and cleaning products which was very helpful. The grounds of the Highland Club provide plenty of activities and are well maintained. We made use of the tennis court - rackets were provided in the room and we also used the pool too. The location is fantastic for exploring the Highlands and although we did quite a bit of driving, it was lovely to be able to walk into Fort Augustus and explore the local shops and cafes. Being such a short walk from the supermarket too is ideal if self catering. We took an evening boat cruise of Loch Ness which can be picked up next to the Highland Club. The boat cruise exceeded our expectations and was highly entertaining. We also hired bikes from the shop in the village which was excellent value and a nice way to explore locally. I would whole heartedly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to visit. My only negatives were the shower didn't drain very well so may need looking at but otherwise this place was perfect.

Lovely apartment with fabulous views

The apartment was very spacious and very comfortable. It had everything needed for a comfortable stay - except the advertised 'full SKY package'. This was a minor irritation and overall we would very much recommend this apartment.

Beautiful location

This was a beautiful apartment in a beautiful location with a fantastic view of Loch Ness and the mountains beyond. We had a lovely week and would definitely recommend. Struan was a good size and fully equipped for a family. Warm and comfortable. The main bedroom can be double or singles and the second bedroom only double. Worth noting if you are going with children. Our teenage children had the main bedroom with en-suite and TV and we got the second much smaller bedroom! There are no significant negatives but just a couple of things to note to the owner. There are a few large marks on the carpet in the living area which were very noticeable. I assume they are stains and the carpet has been cleaned. There is no fan in the main bathroom. Limited wardrobe space in the second bedroom although no room for more. The pool area was lovely but small. Good idea to limit to only 16 (although that seems a lot for the pool size), but closing at 6pm is too early. If you are out exploring all day you are rarely back in time to use these facilities hence we only got to use them 3 times during our week by booking to use during the day.

A magical holiday in a converted monastery overlooking Loch Ness

I cannot imagine a more magical location. Driving into the grounds of the old Abbey took our breath away. The gardens, the tree lined drive, the Abbey itself, the views of Loch Ness, the quick path to town.....WOW!!! Then we entered our flat (Straun) and we were welcomed home. The suite had beautiful furnishings, tall ceilings, old architectural details and a modern kitchen and bath rooms. This made our stay perfect. We could not have picked a better place to stay in Scotland to explore the highlands!

Stunning Struan

The Abbey development has the most perfect setting on the shores of Loch Ness, and the 'Struan' apartment has one of the most beautiful views in the building. 'Struan' is unreservedly Scottish - with antler light fittings and tartan in abundance! The bathrooms are modern with quality suites, and the apartment was cosy, warm and comfortable. The facilities available in the Abbey all added to the general enjoyment of our Scottish break.
