Trastevere is our favorite neighborhood in Rome! We've stayed elsewhere before and wasted a lot of time continuing to come back here. Convenient to all you want to do in Rome, but more so in the charming neighborhood of Trastevere, where you can truly feel like one of the locals and are spoiled with plenty of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. Even the beautiful church in the adjourning square.
Personally, Trastevere reminds me of the West Village of Manhatton, where I have lived. A small, utterly charming neighborhood among the big city.
The apartment provides for plenty of space and amenities for a family. We traveled as two adults and two teen boys. We loved opening all the windows and looking out into the square at all the activity, sights and sounds...and smells of coffee and beautiful Italian food.
We loved the robes and slippers. And the management company was very helpful, including organizing our transfer from the airport.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone okay with steps...we saw them as a welcome way to eat more gelato! But if you don't like steps, Italy in general is not for you anyway.
Addio per ora, Trastevere!
