Hi, everyone. We are Donna and Nigel and whilst Nigel is retired, I’m still working. I have a few more years before I can (hopefully) collect my pension! We originate from lovely, Leafy Hertfordshire in England. Nigel worked for a car manufacturer in the UK as their Marketing Manager and I worked for a private company in Oxfordshire as a Sales Administrator although, before that, I worked for The National Probation Service as a Civil Servant for many years. We love living in Bullas and, experiencing the real Spanish lifestyle. We love our 5 grandchildren and couldn’t imagine life without them. We also have a passion for good food and good wine, so living in Bullas is perfect for us. We enjoy having fun and travelling as much as possible. Which is very difficult with this job I have created for myself!! We would like as many people as possible to experience the beauty of being in this wonderful area, the friendly welcoming locals, their love for their culture and respect for life and living. Their love of nature and a healthy relaxing slower-paced lifestyle is a passion for them. That said, it’s only until you attend their many lively fiestas and learn how to really enjoy your life. We couldn't have asked for a better place to live. My life's motto is a mix of the following: Life is like a box of chocolate, so choose wisely and enjoy every second of it - always treat others as you would like to be treated.
Donna Waite-Gifford purchased this bungalow in 2006
Why Donna Waite-Gifford chose Bullas
We had it specially built as an addition to our home with the intention of using it for our family and friends. However, this was extended to friends of friends wanting to visit and eventually after receiving calls from Spanish friends about wanting to have their wedding reception here ... because they love the grounds ... we decided to do something different. We really felt that this area was perfect for the type of lifestyle we wanted which is very Spanish and relaxing and we now want to share this with as many people as possible.
What makes this bungalow unique
We are in a very beautiful part of Spain. Murcia has excellent weather, one of the best airports in Spain and a beautiful landscape, with some of the most amazing walking routes. Being apart of a walking group, we have found out so much more about this area and Murcia Region in general and believe we are in one of the best and most naturally beautiful areas in Spain, not just for it's landscape but for the people and the way they appreciate and love life, living it to the full and, for the way they have included us into their lives and made us feel so much apart of their community ... we really should have moved here earlier! We are not on an urbanizacion or in the centre of the village but, we feel apart of everything. We have easy access to so many areas and our road network is amazing, we very rarely experience traffic problems even though we are close to the main routes to Murcia, Caravaca de la Cruz, Granada, Almeria and Valencia. We can visit the beach within an hour.15 minutes. The water park and zoo and, two of the biggest shopping centres all within an hour from our house and, we can be on top of one of the highest mountains in Murcia within 3 hours.... and that includes climbing the mountain! We have our own local waterfall 5 minutes from our house and local shops, restaurants and bars all within a 15 minutes stroll. We are lucky enough to have everything we need in our village and are greeted like friends when we walk into our bank, local supermarket or restaurant etc. It's a relaxing pace of life and a very refreshing and different way of life compared to our busy lives in the UK. We live on the 'Route del Vino' and 'La Via Verde' which are well known and important tourist routes in this area. We think our local wine and food is exceptional and want everyone to experience this lifestyle with a glass of wine in hand.
