This wonderful villa has been built in traditional style from local stone, and blends perfectly with the natural surroundings. Villa Amara has real character and charm, while inside high stone walls and chic furnishings with modern fixtures add a touch of the contemporary. The spacious interiors provide a feeling of light throughout, and the perspective from each room is designed to make the most of the mesmerising views. The grounds are extensive, with a large terrace and stunning step in pool perfectly positioned to imbibe the beautiful scenery. Amara means paradise the villa is surrounded by old trees, which lend further character and provide a degree of shade for those seeking to escape the heat. You can wander into the nice gardens, dotted with shrubs, flowers and olive trees, and chill out at the pool and the terrace with a glass of wine or a good book.

A little corner of paradise

Thank you Arife and Oliver for making this stay so pleasant! We had a pleasant stay at the villa Amara which was really nice with a great view on mountains. It is a nice place in Kayakoy, a village where history have left his marks. The owners were very helpful at all point : before to ensure that we find the villa and that we can hire a car and during the stay whenever we needed support. We will definitely come back when the opportunity arises!

Garden respite from the tourist run

A hidden gem in the outskirts of Kayakoy village. We actually stayed in adjacent Villa Eden, larger than Amara. The decor is lovely authentic Turkish, large airy living spaces, stone walls, kitchen works well for making dinner. The garden is designed with paths among the local plants. If it were warmer, we would have spent more time lounging in and around the pool. Arife sent detailed directions, inc videos, for driving to the house. She was readily available to answer questions.

5 Star Villa in a absolutely perfect setting

Paradise on earth What a wonderful villa in a wonderful setting. It is a dream!!! We had the best holiday in villa Amara since we made holiday in Turkey. Could hardly have been better!

We love the Edenvillas, each one feels isolated and there is a feeling of being the only guests there. Arife and Oliver are always available but never intrusive. We really enjoyed our extremely leisurely breakfast(9.30-14.00!) as Arife is a marvellous cook and host. We cannot wait to return next year. Any time spent there is never enough for us, it is highly recommended if you want a peaceful and quiet holiday. There are lots of good restaurants in Kayakoy and lots to do in the surrounding areas. We have been visiting the area for almost 20 years and have yet to be bored.

Fabulous villa on beautiful Lycian coast

I was a bit tearful when we arrived, tired and in need of a rest, at this beautiful villa in Kayakoy, hard to believe we could stay in such a lovely, private property, with fabulous views for 10 days. Arife and Oliver were the perfect hosts, available if needed, but not intrusive. We had a lovely, very welcome, first meal brought to us by Arife, and Oliver was on hand to help when a thunderstorm knocked out the electricity in the village. They were also incredibly kind in sorting out a new spare tyre for us after we got a puncture. The villa was immaculately clean and well equipped. It's a little tricky to find initially, just have to believe Arife's instructions and hold your nerve through the narrow streets of the village. We enjoyed the village, it's restaurants and bakery, all walking distance. We walked through the ghost town and over the hill to Coldwater Bay a couple of times which was beautiful, drove out to Patara to take in some history, enjoyed the marina in Fethiye, and Gemiler beach was small but friendly. We didn't do too much really as we were happy to relax in the villa and by the pool, why would you need to go anywhere else?

Beautiful retreat!

I could not have enjoyed my stay more. This beautiful, fully equipped home has fantastic views and fantastic owners. We spent 10 nights in this paradise. I enjoyed short walks into the village, days full of sunshine and a living link to the past. The area is rustic, with beautiful plants and trees. The pomegranates were ripening, grapes and figs nearby. Every afternoon was filled the scent of laurel, rosemary and oregano. Arife was always available to answer questions and she arranged a beautiful boat trip and a safe and friendly cab driver. I love that we didn't need to rent a car even though the area is very private. I highly recommend staying here if you want to make connections with family, friends, nature or to enjoy the night sky and hear the haunting call to prayer. If you want nightlife and crowds nonstop this may not be the place for you. I will definitely return!

Beautiful villa in a peaceful location

Arife and Oliver were wonderful hosts - answering our questions so quickly and fixing any small problems. The villa was clean, comfortable, with a gorgeous pool area and air con. The restaurants are 10-20 min stroll away and the ghost town is easily reached on foot. Stunning beach at Gemiler. Loved the regular visits from Arife and Oliverā€™s dog and cat. Hoping we can come back one day!

Wonderful secluded villa in a beautiful setting

Villa Amara is the perfect setting for a relaxing break away from all the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds. The pool is beautiful, surrounded by fruit trees with wonderful views of the mountains and an abundance of nature on your doorstep. The villa is clean, nicely decorated and has everything you need. The owners, Arife and Oliver were wonderful hosts who helped us with everything we needed - including cooking us a delicious welcome meal (much needed after long journey and late night arrival) and arranging a private boat trip for us. A piece of Turkish paradise

On arrival to Kayakoy we were met by Oliver, who drove us up the dirt track to our secluded villa. Villa Amara is nestled with three other villas, in a quiet and secluded area, next to the ghost village. The villa was decorated beautifully and was complete with up to date kitchen appliances. Upon arrival Arife and Oliver showed us round the villa and Arife had cooked an amazing meal for our first night which she delivered to accompany the wine she had left in the fridge. The villa is in a beautiful spot, and although three other villas are there, it is quiet and relaxing. The pool is fantastic, big enough to have an inflatable chair, a lilo and a massive inflatable swan all in the pool with four of us at once. Although secluded our two teenage daughters adored it, especially the privacy around the pool area. We asked for a clothes airer to be supplied as I wanted to use the washing machine and when we returned home the evening one was waiting. There is a short walk to get into the village, for small convienience stores and an amazing bakery. It is also easy to walk to some fantastic local restaurants and the ghost village. The village is a stones throw from great beaches, especially our favourite, Kidrak. Also Hisonaru is easily visited where it is lively and bustling. We also went to Fethiye market for supplies of fantastic fruit and veg. Arife organised car hire for us, and we would recommend this to get the most it of the area. And she organised a private boat trip which we would recommend. Arife and Oliver go out of their way to ensure your holiday is perfect. This was a fantastic holiday in a beautiful area, a small piece of paradise.

Chic and Chill holiday

It is very private and nice renovated. For us it was a place to really relax. In the morning its about 10 minutes to walk to the bakery in town. There are several nice restaurants in Kayakoy. We mist a little, small lights in house the to make it more cosy. Most of the time one or more cats and a dog came to visit us.

Beautiful villa .amazing peaceful setting,

Another fantastic holiday at Arife and Oliver's villa amara.every time we stay we feel like it's our second home and Arife and Oliver are good friends not owners.The villa is alway immaculate and everything you need is there.nothing is to much trouble and we even went for dinner at Arife and Oliver's villa.the pool is amazing and the views from the terrace are beautiful. And everything else is a short walk down the path next to the ghost village. I would recommend villa amara so much. We have been 3 times and every time is better than the last. Total relaxation and tranquility

The villa exceeded our expectations! When we arrived we were taken aback at the total seclusion and peacefulness of the lovely villa. The accommodation was perfect for our family of 4 and the villa's pool was so relaxing - always at the perfect temperature and we were in it day and night! We have never been to Kayakoy in August before but, although the temperature was hot, the villa kept us cool and the air conditioning made it perfect for us. I loved the way the villa and pool was all on one level, so easy to walk in and out for refreshments. Arife and Oliver were there if we needed anything and it was lovely having them so close by. We were even greeted with a delicious lunch home cooked by Arife when we arrived which was such a welcoming gesture. Thank you for such a lovely holiday, we hope to be back again in the future. Beautiful villa in a quiet area

My husband, 2 children and I stayed in this beautiful villa for one week. In the run up to our holiday, Arife was in contact with me and answered all my queries promptly. She helped me choose the most appropriate villa in her land. She was very accommodating with my request. I wanted complete privacy and wanted for the villa we stayed in to not be over looked. Arife understood my request and placed a cover so that we cannot be overlooked from the private road leading to the 4 villa's that belong to Arife. This did not affect the lovely view we still had infront of us. Arife and Oliver welcomed us and were around and very accessible the whole time. There was wifi in the villa which was handy. The villa itself was very clean and spacious. Arife had cooked us a meal upon arrival, which was delicious. The pool was amazing and cleaned regularly. The pictures do not do this villa justice. Although the villa is in a very quiet location, it is still very close to restaurants and mini markets. You can easily get to fethiye and oludeniz which were beautiful areas to visit, with shops, restaurants, markets and sea! We hired a car and this certainly did allow us to be more flexible especially with the children. I would really recommend this villa and recommend the owners, Arife and Oliver. They have assisted us so much to make this our perfect holiday. This villa is ideal for families with young children who will be entertained in the pool and garden. It's also in close proximity to historical sites such as the ghost town, and beautiful beaches, restaurants and shops. I would also recommend this villa to couples who just want to relax and really get away from their busy lifestyle.

Third visit and just as lovely

Villa Amara is a true delight. Tucked away down a track but only 10 mins walk through the pines to the village which is not commercialised but has many restaurants. The villa is very well designed and appointed, having all mod cons but with a typical Turksh feel. It has a pretty garden with flowering shrubs and overlooks the fields and hills. It's quiet and private with a lovely pool. Needless to say it is spotlessly clean. Arife and Simon do everything they can to make ones stay special. They are there if you need them but unobtrusively in the background Arife makes a meal for when you arrive which is always delicious. This time Arife took us up into the hills to meet a local family and have lunch. What a treat and a great day out, such lovely people who warmly welcomed us into their home - a truly Turkish experience and the views were splendid en route. We also walked up through kayakoy ghost town, over the hills to Cold Water bay. A pretty small deserted bay where you can swim and then hitched a water lift back to Gemilli beach. You can get a bus or taxi back to Villa Amara I can't recommend this villa and holiday too highly. Book and go!

WOW! What a gem

This was our second stay and it was fantastic. Sorry.... a little late in writing the review but prompted by the fact we have just booked it again - THIRD TIME. A beautiful, well appointed, villa in traditional style but with all luxury modern day comforts. Decor thoughtful and lovely, kitchen plenty of utensils, washing machine, dishwasher etc. shower rooms modern and everything works. Pool gorgeous, and all very very clean. The owners, who live on site, could not be more helpful and friendly but without intruding. They will cook for you - delicious food - and give you a lift if they are on their way out. There are two other villas on site but Villa Amara is totally private and looks out onto fields and the mountain, with a pretty garden. Its just a ten min walk, along a hillside path, to small shops and good restaurants, passing the old ghost town. About 10 mins drive from the nearest coast and there is a bus service to Fethiye, Oludeniz and about an hour from Dalaman. All in all wonderful stay - hence the third visit now in June Highly recommend it.

Very comfortable villa in unspoilt surrounds

Arife has taken real care to make this villa comfortable and practical. The lovely terrace and swimming pool are particularly special. The views from the Terrace are of the countryside and the mountains beyond making it feel like you are well away from everything but it is only 5 minutes drive into the village and 10 minutes walk to a lovely traditional restaurant. Definitely recommend.

Stunning

The house and setting is beautiful, the house is also clean and comfortable. The property is quiet and secluded in a lovely village with friendly locals and places to eat. Arife the owner is amazing and goes out of her way to make you welcome and can arrange and organise local activities and experiences. She is an excellent cook! Highly recommended.

Paradise, peace, and friends forever

Another amazing holiday at the most wonderful villa in the most beautiful location in the world. Arife is so helpful and it's like meeting old friends when you arrive. Nothing is to much trouble. A Dream!

What a beautiful, romantic, relaxing stay we had at Villa Amara! The villa was immaculate and even better than the photos show with the added bonus of a wonderful host not far away to help with anything we needed. It is secluded with amazing views and a fantastic pool, it was difficult for us to move and go and explore! The village is just a 10 min walk down a country path with great restaurants and friendly people, we especially liked Antik and The Blue Butterfly. We will come back without hesitation. Thank you Arife!
