Cactus house is on of the three different properties in Christou Houses(Flower Houses).Flower Houses are located in Glyfa beach about 10 km away from the port.A beautiful scenery with the crystal blue sea about 15 meters from your staying,surrounded by an olive grove and colourful flowers and vegetable varieties will offer you a relaxing,quiet with no stress vacation.Glyfa is placed 400 meters away from the small village of Stenni Vala , perfect for families with children , couples or even for solo vacation ! Excellent choise for Yoga retreat, yoga platforms which used also for sunbathing are spread all around the field , in front of each house , with stunning sea view .The beach in front of you is very quiet since its not << touristic >> one . Also parking place is 100 meters away from Villas , so no street nearby or car noises which might disturb your staying during night and day while new mattresses and pillows will give you quality and enjoyable sleep .

Perfect holiday hide away

This is a great location and perfect place for a couple to rest and relax . The beach taverna is 5 minutes walk and the port with several places to eat and drink is 10 minutes walk. Quiet and peaceful, very comfortable and helpful hosts. We loved it.

Everything more than perfect :)

We have stayed in many places but this was definitely the best. The hosts are super sweet and helpful and their son Panos was going beyond to help with every need! We totally recommend these beautiful houses, right on a beautiful beach with everything you need close by

Superb friendly welcome, pick-up by the ferry port, the house was like described, photos are true, everything was very clean (also bath & kitchen), comfortable beds, wonderful seefront view, silent, fridge was already filled with the necessary, Manos was always available for informations and his Mum is so kind!

We feel so lucky to have found the flower houses in Steni Vala! The Cactus house is in a lush, colorful garden with a covered patio overlooking a rocky beach (Glyfa) and the sea. There are beautiful sunrises there and the patio is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the pink sunset glow on the water. The owners were very helpful and they had the cottage spotlessly clean. They even stocked the fridge with essentials and left us some great coffee, tea and olive oil. The water pressure was strong and the bed was really comfy. We walked to dinner at the port which was fun (5 minutes away) and recommend Sossinola and Tassia’s Cooking. There is a lot of good hiking around, too. A peaceful and memorable stay!

Küche war komplett ausgestattet, Kühlschrank zur Begrüssung gut gefüllt, direkt am Strand gelegen, klares Wasser. Gut war auch die Nähe zum Hafen, schöner Spaziergang am Abend.Auto empfehlenswert, wurde vom Vermieter gebracht. Super Service!

Ein Stück vom Paradies

wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Kaktus-Haus absolut genossen. Alles hat gestimmt. Im Oktober waren wir alleine in der wunderschönen Anlage zwischen Olivenbäumen und blühenden Pflanzen. Die Bucht hatten wir -fast- für uns allleine. Wer Ruhe sucht, der findet sie hier. Wir wurden von der Fähre abgeholt und auch morgens wieder zur Fähre gebracht. Im Kühlschrank fanden wir von Käse, Wurst, Milch, Kaffee. Eiern, ... alles für einen Start in den Urlaub. Im Ort schließt der Minimarkt Mitte Oktober, zwei Restaurants waren aber noch offen. Ein Bus fährt einmal täglich nach Patitiri und nachmittags von dort zurück. Wem das zu wenig ist, der benötigt ein Auto. Wir haben nur Ruhe gesucht und sie hier gefunden. Keine Hektik, keine lauten Autos, kein überfüllter Strand. Herrlich! wir würden jederzeit wieder buchen. Badeschuhe und Mückenspray nicht vergessen. Mit den hungrigen Katzen muss man sich arangieren.

Wonderful relaxing haven!

We enjoyed 3 weeks in Cactus house and it was fantastic stay. The house is small but perfectly formed and it’s position, in a lovely garden and overlooking the sea, could not be bettered. Easy access, across the pebbly beach to 4 or 5 tavernas on one side and a cute beach bar with sunbeds, a 5 minute walk on the other side. It was the quietest place we have stayed in Greece in 40 years… just the sea lapping on the shore, the ducks patrolling the beach and the occasional swimmer crossing the bay. Manuel, Demetrius and Stella are a lovely family and the house was kept spotless during our stay with clean bedding and towels every 4 days. Also a generous welcome pack with enough food for at least a day! We will return one day 🙏.

Flower house in paradise

We were met off the Seacat ferry by the owners and their son who spoke excellent English. We were hiring a car, so we picked this up, then were led to Steni Vala and helped to our house, which was a short walk along the top of a beautiful pebbled beach. The house is compact - a main living room with comfortable bed, wardrobe etc and a kitchenette equipped with all we needed. The shower room was a good size and well equipped. Upstairs were two single beds, we didn't need these, but there was also more hanging space. The house was cleaned and linen and towels changed every 2-3 days, which was lovely. The a/c worked well at night. The house is set in beautifully landscaped garden and when you sit on the verandah you are surrounded by olive trees and colourful gardens with hibiscus, bourganvillea and lots of succulents and cactus - beautiful. The view beyond overlooks the beach; to the left of this there's a good taverna with free sunbeds and umbrellas - beautiful crystal clear waters and clean beach. The locations is excellent with the harbour just a 15 minute walk away, several good restaurants which overlook the harbour busy with yachts and boats. The old town in the hills is about 20 minutes drive, the port about the same distance; there are plenty of other beaches to choose from too, if you have a car to explore. There is a local bus service, but we had our own car. We'd love to return to the house and see our hosts again - they looked after us so very well - thank you for a memorable holiday. Jane and Ian

Séjour merveilleux à alonissos

Nous avons été accueillis à la sortie du bateau par le fils des gérants et il nous a même raccompagnés au départ ! Notre petite maison au bord de l'eau était top avec la plage à qq mètres, la terrasse donnant sur la mer et sur le jardin magnifique. Il y avait des provisions pour le petit déjeuner pour plusieurs jours, du miel, du yaourt grec, du café, du lait... Le ménage et le changement du linge ont été faits au 3 ème jour. Nos hôtes, Stella et Dimitris sont vraiment charmants. Nous recommandons vivement !

La villa è pulita, i proprietari sono gentili ed amorevoli, il luogo in cui si trova è incantevole sia per il mare che per la vicinanza ai 2 principali porti di pescatori in cui si mangia "da favola". E' luogo in cui merita fermarsi almeno 1 settimana per raggiungere la pace dei sensi

Fabulous beachside retreat in a magical island!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this amazing place. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and small touches like helping with our luggage and leaving fresh food supplies in the property upon arrival made a big difference! The location was perfect for us as a young family with the beach on our doorstep and a lovely beach bar a stone's throw away. The gardens are beautifully maintained and we appreciated the privacy and the views. The island itself is magical and we hope to return! Ευχαριστούμε πάρα πολύ!!

A perfect holiday location for families

We had the privilege to stay in two of the Christou houses. Although there are more than two houses on the premises you seem to be on your own while enjoying the view of the bay in front of you. The houses are well furnished, well kept and tidy. When questions occured we could turn to the caring owners any time. Within 5-7 minute walking distance there are a couple of classical Greek fish taverns in the small port. Also two supermarkets where you can buy food, clothes and mosquito repellents which are necessary in the evenings. We truly enjoyed our stay, relaxed perfectly and will be back in Alonissos.

La situation est idéale pour les personnes en recherche de calme et de proximité avec la mer, sans tourisme de masse mais respectueux de la nature. Une vue splendide, de la verdure, et une terrasse qui s’ouvvre sur la mer. La maison est petite mais fonctionnelle, bien équipée et très propre. Manos est très accueillant, et le couple qui entretient est très attentionné. Nous avons très envie d’y retrourner. Je recommande !

Just perfect!

We had a wonderful vacation in Alonissos, (almost every year we spend our vacations in Greece) the hosts are really nice, Stella, Dimitri and their son Manos. The house is in a beautiful location, everything was perfect since our arrival. Manos welcomed us with honey tuna and olive oil from the island, and they also gave us food for 2 days. The terrace is in front of the sea and 20 meters from the beach. Steni Vala has also a little port with some good restaurants, so it is very confortable to go out for dinner at night. We have 2 girls (4 and 5 years old) and they also loved Alonissos and our house, specially their room. Last detail: Manos girlfriend Kalliopi is a very good fisiotherapist and she gave me a wonderful massage.

Perfect situation for the beach and the village of Steni Vala

Manos and Stella were incredibly helpful and kind. Cactus is literally 15m from the beach with perfect water for swimming and playing for the kids. We saw dolphins and plenty of fish - and could easily get around the island with a rented car (Manos can help you with this). We will be back!

Calme et sérénité !

Tres beau cottage sur la plage de Glyffa, l'une des plus belle plage d'Alonissos. On arrive au cottage par la plage. Le cottage est dans une jolie petite propriété remplie d'oliviers, d'arbres fruitiers et de fleurs A deux pas, la petite marina de Steni Vala avec supermarché, quelques bars et restaurants. Tres chouette ambiance. Literie comfortable, linge de lits et essuie de bain fourni, airco A notre arrivée un petit viatique nous attendait dans le frigo (oeufs, fromage, thé, café, pain, confiture, ....). Ménage fait 1 ou 2 fois durant le séjour. Dimitris et sa femme, les hotes, sont très gentils et très serviables

Wonderful - really the only word for it.

We have spent our holidays in Greece for the the last 20 years, every holiday has been more than enjoyable but Alonissos and the Flower houses have been the best ever. In July 2015 we arrived at the wonderful Cactus House, having been met at the port by Manos, his mother and father, Stella and Dimitris who are fabulous people, willing to help in any way. The house is absolutely delightful - beyond anything we imagined - and we were more than happy to be staying in it with all its comforts, wonderful views - all just wonderful. Kind Stella had left us tea, coffee, and many things in the fridge. The house is so tastefully decorated and very comfortable with everything that one could possibly need. (Clean to perfection). Sea and beach just down the path and garden beautifully cared for amongst olive trees. This July we returned to Alonissos and spent 9 days in the Aloe II house (Flower Houses). It is again a lovely house, larger than Cactus, and really comfortable and beautifully decorated. Again Manos met us at the port and his parents, Stella and Dimitris met us at the house. Again a wonderful welcome and nothing lacking in the house with lots of food in the fridge, towels and sheets changed every 3 days. We were not able to go to Alonissos last year and missed it enormously. We certainly hope to return next summer. Thank you so much Manos, Stella and Dimitris for making our holidays so wonderful.
