Completed in 2005, this exquisite oceanfront masterpiece features five bedrooms and five bathrooms. Both spacious and elegant, it is 5000 square feet of pure luxury with an additional 3500 square feet of porches with gorgeous ocean views. The pool is a serene saltwater pool that both adults and children will love! Richly furnished, it sleeps 12 very comfortably. This romantic home is one of the most unique beauties on the island. We have 24 hour Concierge Service and can arrange for a Babysitter. Relax in the quiet beauty of Isle of Palms, while being a mere 20 minutes from historic Downtown Charleston. World class golf courses and fabulous shopping are located within minutes of this fabulous home. IOP is one of South Carolina's barrier islands. It is long and narrow and bounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The island's beautiful beach and the inland waterway offer a wide diversity of animal and plant life while providing endless recreational possibilities. In 2002, the City's beach was the first in SC to achieve the Blue Wave Designation from the Clean Beaches Council. Blue Wave is an environmental standard that indicates our beach is well managed and a clean family beach.

Without a doubt my family had the most memorable vacation. The house was so warm and inviting. The bedrooms were so cozy & comfotable. I loved all the bathrooms. That really made everyone so happy, gathering on the porch or the beautiful living room and kitchen was perfect for enjoying each other's company. The kitchen made it so easy to cook meals. Of course I have to say how much my family enjoyed the pool. Lots of fun was had by all. Big success!!!!!

Magical Sandcastle

What a wonderful vacation my family enjoyed at The Sandcastle! We loved the beautiful colors, amazing art work, relaxing outdoor areas & great floor plan. Location was ideal with great ocean views & convenient to shops & restaurants in Charleston & Mt. Pleasant. Hope we can be fortunate enough to vacation here again.

The Sandcastle at Isle of Palms

This is by far the best place we have ever rented! It is everything we wanted and much more. Easy, flowing floor plan with fantastic views of the beach from almost every room on main floor and from three of the five upstairs bedrooms. The owners paid "attention to detail" throughout with fabulous art work, wall colors, cabinets, furniture, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc. Every spot in the house is lovely and interesting. Yet, it is kid friendly and a place where all can totally relax. We especially loved the decks and porches. I will go back in a heartbeat.

Absolutely Amazing...Best Experience Ever

This was a vacation where we set the bar very high in terms of expectations. In addition to my wife and I we also had our eldest son and new daughter in-law and my senior son in college. We have rented for years on the ocean but this one had to be special and this property hit it clear out of the park. Everything was perfect and the house was extraordinary. Every detail in the home was spot on, super clean and very well appointed. As for the amenities where do you begin; the house...amazing...the pool awesome...the private beach...that one will leave you speechless. Finally, the entire experience, which included a warm welcome with an onsite professional manager to a property where the owners clearly care and invest to keep this property looking brand new it was just awesome.

Needless to say we are selecting dates now for a return in 2016!

Poor experience with owner

This house is our 14th beach rental. Our group of friends have never had a security deposit issue, let alone being described as leaving "filth" and the worst tenants in 10 years. The owner initially withheld the entire deposit and claimed the pool was clogged, glass was broken in the garage, lights were ripped off, the deck needed to be professionally cleaned, and garbage wasn't removed. The owner was unresponsive to emails and uncooperative towards resolving this issue. After 4 weeks of sending emails asking for receipts and "proof of damage" the owner mailed back 90% of the deposit. The remaining amount was supposedly for "excessive cleaning" and not worth our effort to reclaim. Frankly, this entire episode was personally insulting and the offensive comments by the owner did not indicate that this was a professional rental operation.

As for the house and location, it is a well maintained property with a good view. Overall, the house is not kid friendly due to all of the glass art work and the "black" pool. The pool has a "black" liner that makes the water very warm in the summertime and it has a large submerged step around the perimeter that is invisible. This pool is for adults and not recommended for kids that like to jump into pools.

The house comes with a tiny electric grill that is inadequate for a house that accommodates 14 people. We incorrectly assumed that our expensive weekly rental would have included an inexpensive gas grill, but we were wrong. We purchased a gas grill at Lowe's and brought it back to the house and left it there for the next tenants. Unfortunately, the owner threw out the grill and was apparently livid that we tried to grill food on our summer vacation.

Owner's Response: After ten years of renting our home to lovely, respectful people, we unfortunately rented to a group who treated our home abysmally. Trash was thrown into our pool, a fire pit and cord of wood was left in our yard. (Open flames are not permitted on the island.) Broken glass was left in the garage. Our home was left in such poor condition that the cleaning service required an additional crew in order to have it ready for the next renters. We built our home not only as a rental investment but also one in which our family, including five grandchildren, could come and make a lifetime of good memories. It was built with love and attention to detail, and many of our renters return year after year. These disgruntled renters wrote an angry review with many complaints, and all I can say is that in ten years we have never had to keep any portion of a deposit until now. simply amazing!

It's hard to believe something this unique is available for rent. Our group was continuously amazed - no detail was overlooked and every corner is a work of art. Despite being exceptionally beautiful, the house is very livable and we were relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. We felt like we were in a movie ~ a gorgeous home, oceanfront views, a beautiful beach. The house feels very private with a large private beach, yet we were close to the local village. We loved having a beach vacation, but still being so close to Charleston with it's history, shopping and unbelievable dining. I really liked the woman who helped us with the reservations, very personal and helpful. I highly recommend the Sandcastle ~ I wish all our rental experiences were this special.
