Oban, a small bustling fishing town is close by, and regular ferries leave the harbour for the Inner Hebrides, including Mull, Staffa and Iona. Explore famous castles, stunning gardens or enjoy forest trails suitable for walking and cycling. Visit Bonawe Iron Works, Cruachan Hollow Mountain and Oban Distillery.

Great location for exploring the Highlands.

Great location for exploring the Highlands. We had a lovely week out and about in some lovely autumn weather, and it was great to return to such clean, comfortable, well equipped and warm accommodation. The shower in the upstairs bathroom was great. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage is cosy and has everything you need and more. Even though it’s near a village it’s still very quiet and relaxing. About 20 minutes from Oban, Fort William is just over an hour away too. There’s a hotel within walking distance, a great little shop with everything you need and a lovely little cafe. A great stay and will definitely go back.

What a lovely cottage. There was whisky & shortbread waiting for us on arrival. The owner called round to introduce himself & advised that if we needed anything, then just ask. The cottage was well equipped & the upstairs shower room was great. Well worth a visit & well placed for exploring the surrounding area.

I'm sorry, but I just have to say that we're slightly disappointed about the price increase for next year. It's a fabulous, first class cottage. The location is perfect for our interests ie walking and photography, but sadly the increase has detured us from booking it next year.

Lovely cottage which is every bit as nice as it looks in the pictures.

Lovely cottage which is every bit as nice as it looks in the pictures. Very clean throughout. Lots of lovely extras from the owners. Very well equipped, especially with kids in mind, great to have 2 bathrooms. The cottage makes a great base to explore all that the local area has to offer. The local village has excellent amenities and the people we met were very friendly and helpful. I would be happy to recommend Blackmill Cottage and would love to stay again.

Very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped cottage, and an ideal base for exploring the area. Ideal for getting to Oban and ferry to Mull & Iona. Glencoe and Fort William not far, and on to Mallaig on train. Expect to "suffer" scenery overload. On a more practical level, local shops and pub in easy walking distance.
