Set in Wicken, one of Cambridgeshire’s prettiest villages, this delightful detached bungalow, with its lovely garden and undulating countryside views, is the perfect holiday accommodation in which to relax and unwind. A short stroll (¼ mile) takes you to famous Wicken Fen (National Trust), and cyclists will enjoy the lovely route along the river from Ely to Cambridge (cycle hire available nearby). There are a myriad of attractions in the area, including Anglesey Abbey (National Trust), the market town of Bury St Edmunds with its abbey gardens, Newmarket, famous for its races and music nights, Cambridge with its universities or visit the lovely riverside pubs at Ely where you can watch the world go by. A short drive will take you to the North Norfolk Coast, including the resort of Hunstanton which is perfect for family fun. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Six of our immediate family spent a lovely week at Barrow Barn. It is comfortable and beautifully appointed, with everything you would need. Having three double bedrooms, all with en-suite was a godsend. The location means that trips into Suffolk and Norfolk are easy, alongside visiting the attractions in Cambridgeshire. One morning a small deer was in the garden, which was lovely to see. We would definitely recommend.

As shown by the 5 stars ratings, we were pleased to stay at Barrow Barn and enjoyed our time there. Just 2 matters to comment upon - 1) The caddy marked coffee contained self-raising flour. 2) After the first day the TV signal for BBC was extremely poor and unwatchable.

The barn was spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable with the added cheer of a Christmas tree and welcome pack of a fruit bowl and milk. We weren't sure how a winter holiday just before Christmas would work out but we were blessed with mainly mild and sunny weather so managed to get out every day. We enjoyed the wild scape of Wicken Fen and saw Hen Harriers coming in at the roost, the Winter garden at Anglesey Abbey, Kingfisher Bridge nature reserve, Welney Wetlands (quite flooded) and a wander around Ely. We look forward to returning in the summer when hopefully we can enjoy sitting in the garden too. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay that exceeded expectations. Thank you! We had 2 weeks of beautiful sunny weather and to be able to open up the folding doors and enjoy the sunshine was bliss. The beds were huge and comfy, bathrooms had excellent showers. The kitchen was well equipped and had wonderful appliances. The only downside was the WiFi, it kept dropping out and had to be rebooted but this was just a minor irritation. Beautiful Barn, extremely well equipped, walking distance to the Pub, food very reasonably priced. Walking distance to Witham Fen ( National Trust) worth a visit. Plenty of footpaths for flat walking. Soham three miles away over the footpaths. One coffee shop there, Asda and Co-op. Five miles by car to Stretham where there is a post office stores. So remember your milk when out, as Witham does not have any shops. But Stretham does have a good take away Fish and Chip shop. Short car ride to Cambridge and Ely, you need a car, the bus only goes once a week on a Thursday to Soham! But we thoroughly our week and would recommend Barrow Barn.
