Esta propiedad única y encantadora es parte de los edificios históricos de la Abadía de Cerne, formada como Casa Benedictina en 987 dC, con vistas al patio de la abadía con grandes jardines cercanos. La abadía es de propiedad privada, y los huéspedes pueden disfrutar de los jardines y pasear libremente. La propiedad se encuentra en el bonito pueblo de Cerne Abbas, famoso por su dominante talla de tiza del gigante de Cerne, que se cree que fue tallado en la ladera hace unos 1500 años. Escondido en la belleza de las colinas de Dorset, se pueden disfrutar millas de hermosos paseos, incluido el sendero del pueblo. Puddletown, Tolpuddle y el pintoresco valle de Piddle de Thomas Hardy están a poca distancia. Viajando más lejos se encuentran millas de playas de arena y algunas costas del Jurásico de Dorset. Fantastic village to visit. The accommodation was just right. Nice quirky cottage with everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The local people were pleasant and welcoming. There are plenty of walks in the immediate vicinity of the cottage. The silence really is golden. Will be returning

Fabulous place and really beautiful location.

Fabulous place and really beautiful location. Property was comfortable but clearly in need of some TLC although in fairness you have to remind yourself of the age of the property. Owners were really lovely and very helpful and are clearly working towards a bigger vision for the site.. would visit again in a flash😊

Cerne Abbey Cottage Review

Compact downstairs, more spacious upstairs. Very convenient for visiting local places of interest, and within walking distance of three pubs/restaurants and an excellent village shop. Parking very convenient outside the cottage. Thoroughly recommended.

A fabulously homely cottage with everything we needed for our little escape with Mulder the cockapoo.The setting is just perfect and the owner made us feel so welcome. We even got our own private tour of the gatehouse.The corner bath is enormous! Perfect for a long soak after a muddy walk around the Cerne Abbas Giant. The cottage was beautifully warm and having access to the garden was perfect for our morning cup of coffee as Mulder had a run around.The village shop was amazing. There are 3 pubs in the village. We had a fabulous meal at The Giant Inn and the church runs a coffee and cake drop in on a Wednesday morning. We caught the bus to Dorchester. A 30 minute ride away.Highly recommended. We will be back.

The locality of this cottage is unique and most beautiful.

The locality of this cottage is unique and most beautiful. The owners, who live on site, are helpful and very friendly. The cottage overall was comfortable and suited our holiday requirements perfectly. The one big reservation was the bathroom which needs serious updating, including the shower which was inadequate and, in fact, useless. My wife and I had a wonderful time at Cerne Abbey Cottage. It is so cozy and the welcome was amazing. Beatiful surroundings and it oozes historical character. We went at a time when the apples, pears and figs were falling from the trees and they did not go to waste. A stunning location with plenty of walks and a great place to explore the many aspects of Dorset. Batteries fully recharged. Thank you Cerne Abbey! We enjoyed a few days of R&R here at the start of December.

We enjoyed a few days of R&R here at the start of December. Although the cottage was a little cool at times we managed. Our only complaint was with the WiFi. We ha d strong signal but could only get connected to the internet sometimes in the morning. The 4G signal was good though.

Fantastic cottage in the charming village of Cerne Abbas, located on the grounds of a former abbey. Very friendly owners and quiet surroundings. Great for exploring Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, ideal for walking and a romantic getaway. Only small downside (for me): low water pressure in the shower.

This is our second visit and won’t be the last. A beautiful peaceful haven ,wonderful walks and views. The village has all the amenities you could wish for and everyone is so friendly We feel that we have been away for a month it was so relaxing Barbara and Michael are superb hosts nothing is too much trouble for them
