Town: Between Dorchester and Weymouth in Dorset is the quaint rural community of Broadmayne. Nearby points of interest include the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, the Osmington White Horse, and the Came Down Golf Club. The village itself is located in a historic part of England, on the outskirts of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are a few places to eat in the area; the village shop has the basics, and The Black Dog serves traditional British fare. The county town of Dorchester, which is home to multiple museums and the former home of poet and novelist Thomas Hardy (now owned by the National Trust) as well as the Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens, is conveniently located near the village. Weymouth is a bit further away, but it has beautiful sandy beaches and plenty of coastal paths perfect for a day of coastal fun.
