About Lori Ortega
Growing up in the Southern Rockies brings a little touch of down home goodness to the heart. As children we've both loved the outdoors. We grew up skiing in mountains and love hunting and fishing. We own Premier-Outfitters, a hunting, horseback, fishing, hiking, and camping outfit. This gives people a opportunity to experience a lifetime adventure they will never forget. Now our three children follow in our foot steps. If it doesn't have to do with the outdoors they are not interested. You will get to know us and see how unique we are. We certainly can't wait to meet you!
Why Lori Ortega chose Questa
We want the people to feel comfortable when they stay at the Ranch and appreciate the quality of nature that surrounds you while you enjoy the stay in our cabins. The cabins here at our Ranch were thought up very carefully. Every log was hand picked by us to show of the details in the interior and exterior walls. Each cabin has its very own story. You are in a semi-remote location with full ammenities yet minutes away from your destination you choose.
What makes this Cabin unique
We have many attractions at the Ranch. The kids will love winter and summer at the pond, skipping rocks in the creek or a nice mountain hike and view natural land slides and Indian ruins. Enjoy the sounds of farm animals at the barn or a barbecue on the deck overlooking the creek. A camp fire by the pond is quite calming after a long day out. Walking into the cabins you will be remarkably impressed. The best benefit of all is to share your experience with your loved ones and take home stories you will never forget. Give us call to learn more.

Property hard to find, road not marked, address did not work in maps as told. A phone number was given in case we got lost which was good. Check in and out times different from advertised. Coffee maker had mold floating in water in filter, I contacted owner and got no reply. Bring your own paper towels and Kleenex. Some of the beds weren’t very clean. Cabin itself was nice, there was just a lack of hospitality.
Rented this cabin for a fly-fishing trip. Easy access to good fishing in the area. There is even a nice little pond right in front. Cabin was clean and well kept. Will definitely keep this on the short list of places to stay whenever I'm in the area. Thanks Lori!
Iawrsome place for a getaway!
Beautiful property! Was a great experience for my grandkids and my entire family! We loved the fact that there were a lot of places to fish and it was close to red river so the girls could have girl time! Would recommend for a get away weekend or a quiet place to relax and enjoy family or friends! Thanks so much for a great weekend.
First time to write a review of all the vrbo homes I have vacationed in: disappointing.
I wish I could share pictures. Cabin itself was decent and functional. No extra special touches. Outdoor grill was nasty, weeds and trash, junk surround cabin,( inside cabin was clean) had to clean off outdoor muddy white plastic chairs to sit in, trout pond was fun, no spices of any kind( salt and pepper would be nice, basic kitchen essentials are there (needed a cutting board) wall beteeen bedrooms is paper thin. Outdoor fire pit made out of an old metal barrel? It was functional, just looks like junk. This property has two cabins: stay at the other one if your looking. It was very nice inside and out ( great decor, nice deck, clean grill) Not sure why this cabin we stayed in isn’t better taken care of. It needs a heavy dose of TLC. I’m not trying to sound mean or snooty, but online presentation is not what awaited us upon arrival. Scott Means
A nice evening
This pictures provided do not do this cabin justice. Really nice place and great host. I can truly say the only complain is that I had traffic going right by the cabin into the evening. Either on a 4 wheeler or vehicles. Not a huge deal but.
Great place for quick access to the forest Rd.
Unfortunately we arrived while the Carson National Forest was being shut down do to the fires in the area. We did find other things to do, as Red river is very close along with Tao's. In July, you really wanted to get back to the cabin and close to the forest for cooler weather and some evening showers. We drove and hauled our Polaris approximately 1000 miles just to hit the trails and off road for days, at least that was the plan. All in all, we had a great time and made the best of it. Lori, George and family are great people, and we will be back again. Our only suggestions would be to finish the lighting in the kitchen area as it was pretty dark especially at night. Add longer chains from the ceiling fans so you can adjust the speed and/or turn the light off if desired while leaving the fans going. As advertised, i would make sure the gas grill is prepared and ready for use, and the weeds along the deck cut down so not to look abandoned upon arrival. The pictures posted are great, just need to keep the place looking the same as those posted.
Great time, great people, wonderful area/property and look forward to that Elk gathering in October!
Thanks Lori and George, Luke ( the guide) and George Jr.
