About Lori Ortega
Growing up in the Southern Rockies brings a little touch of down home goodness to the heart. As children we've both loved the outdoors. We grew up skiing in mountains and love hunting and fishing. We own Premier-Outfitters, a hunting, horseback, fishing, hiking, and camping outfit. This gives people a opportunity to experience a lifetime adventure they will never forget. Now our three children follow in our foot steps. If it doesn't have to do with the outdoors they are not interested. You will get to know us and see how unique we are. We certainly can't wait to meet you!
Why Lori Ortega chose Questa
We want the people to feel comfortable when they stay at the Ranch and appreciate the quality of nature that surrounds you while you enjoy the stay in our cabins. The cabins here at our Ranch were thought up very carefully. Every log was hand picked by us to show of the details in the interior and exterior walls. Each cabin has its very own story. You are in a semi-remote location with full ammenities yet minutes away from your destination you choose.
What makes this Cabin unique
We have many attractions at the Ranch. The kids will love winter and summer at the pond, skipping rocks in the creek or a nice mountain hike and view natural land slides and Indian ruins. Enjoy the sounds of farm animals at the barn or a barbecue on the deck overlooking the creek. A camp fire by the pond is quite calming after a long day out. Walking into the cabins you will be remarkably impressed. The best benefit of all is to share your experience with your loved ones and take home stories you will never forget. Cabin was gorgeous! Better than expected.
The cabin was awesome......great kitchen area with plenty of room for cooking. Location was great as well.
Thanks again. It was nice talking with you all. We welcome you back.
Great place for quick access to the forest Rd.
Unfortunately we arrived while the Carson National Forest was being shut down do to the fires in the area. We did find other things to do, as Red river is very close along with Tao's. In July, you really wanted to get back to the cabin and close to the forest for cooler weather and some evening showers. We drove and hauled our Polaris approximately 1000 miles just to hit the trails and off road for days, at least that was the plan. All in all, we had a great time and made the best of it. Lori, George and family are great people, and we will be back again. Our only suggestions would be to finish the lighting in the kitchen area as it was pretty dark especially at night. Add longer chains from the ceiling fans so you can adjust the speed and/or turn the light off if desired while leaving the fans going. As advertised, i would make sure the gas grill is prepared and ready for use, and the weeds along the deck cut down so not to look abandoned upon arrival. The pictures posted are great, just need to keep the place looking the same as those posted.
Great time, great people, wonderful area/property and look forward to that Elk gathering in October!
Thanks Lori and George, Luke ( the guide) and George Jr.
A nice evening
This pictures provided do not do this cabin justice. Really nice place and great host. I can truly say the only complain is that I had traffic going right by the cabin into the evening. Either on a 4 wheeler or vehicles. Not a huge deal but.
Nice secluded view. Cabin was great
Uthis is a lovely setting
We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful cabin until my husband became very disoriented and agitated on our second night. I googled the symptoms of altitude sickness and felt that he probably was suffering from this. We loaded our car and left at 3:30 am and headed for lower altitudes.unfortunately we only had a little more than 36 hours to enjoy this idyllic setting. The cabin is brand new and very comfortable. Our unfort7nate experience should not deter anyone else from book8ng this cabin.
Judy, It was lovely meeting you and your husband. I am sorry your stay was ended short. I hope your husband is doing well. It was very thoughtful of you on writing a responce. Past people who have stayed in high altitude places have carried or brought oxygen and new to this area is oxygen in a can. that my have a temporary fix to altitude sickness. Its best to ask your doctor.
Overall nice stay at this location. A little hard to find initially, burt once we got there it was very nice, clean, and well represented by the pictures
Any mountain outdoor activity is right at your finger tips. There are plenty of local festivals year round. Enjoy local wineries and art museums minutes away
