3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom 5 Minutes From Downtown Brevard In Quiet Setting
We live in Vero Beach, FL and have been traveling to Brevard for years to relax and take in all the mountains have to offer. After an extensive search with our amazing realtor we came upon this home and have fallen in love with it and hope you will as well. The house is tucked away at the end of a paved a cul de’ sac, nestled among towering evergreen, beautiful wild rhododendron and dogwood trees. The beautiful stone fireplace and expansive deck off the back of the home allow for relaxing times during both the day and evening hours. We love our new getaway and are excited to share it with you! It is luxury, comfort and privacy all rolled into one serene experience.
Since our purchase we've been busy making this home our own. We've had a lot of fun getting the decor and furnishings just right and making sure the space is comfortable and inviting. It's a quick drive to Gorges State Park, Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest and many other local attractions. The location at the end of the driveway guarantees absolute privacy in a secluded wooded setting. It's a great spot to relax and unwind.
The charming interior features beautiful pine wood floors with carpet in the bedrooms. The fully stocked kitchen features a raised counter with seating and opens to the dining room. The master suite, has a spacious shower and offers tremendous views of the surrounding woods where you may spot a famous Brevard white squirrel or see a humming bird at the feeder. The guest bath in very spacious and features a Jacuzzi tub/shower combination.
Discover the small town charm and big time adventure Brevard, N.C. has to offer. There is as little or as much to do as one may wish. An abundance of art, crafts, antiques, shopping experiences, restaurants, and festivals await you. It's a place to hike, fish, raft, bike, play tennis or golf. Guests should be on the lookout for Brevard's most favored residents, the white squirrels. Nearly 45% of the county is covered by National and State forests. Brevard also features its own music festival with concerts daily from mid June - early August. As you can see, the Smoky Mountains offer something for everyone.

Why Nathalie Schiffeleers chose Dunns Rock
We purchased this place because of it's location to everything we love in the area: rafting, kayaking, hiking, fishing, Brevard, Hendersonville, and Ashville. But, also because the house was so easily accessible and nestled in a quiet little area. Tucked away from everything. It's own private retreat, it is just perfect for us.
What makes this House unique
Some things we love best about our home, the expansive deck off the back of the house, we sit there for hours and enjoy the sounds of the woods, watch the numerous birds and wildlife, it is so peaceful. We love the side-room off the kitchen for doing crafts, reading and drinking coffee. The living-room is our comfy spot for movies, fires, and chilling. Everyone in our home loves the kitchen, even our girls cook in there, it is amazing. The Jacuzzi tub is nice in the guest bath for sore muscles. We just built a fire-pit out front which is pretty sweet, great for hot dogs and roasting marshmallows. Lots of little touches all around the house you will notice, trim around every door and window, just look around, you will be amazed....

A great place to stay
The house is a lovely ranch that is clean and well decorated. It comfortably slept my family of 5. Downtown Asheville is about a 45 minute drive, but more importantly we were only 10 minutes from the entrance to the Pisgah National Forest. There is plenty to do and this is a great place to stay.
Very clean and great location!
We truly enjoyed our time here. The location was fabulous and the home was very nice and perfect for us. Thank you so much!
Quiet retreat but close to pretty much everything
We really enjoy staying at this house in the woods. While there are neighbors nearby, you'd never know it. The area is nice and quiet (and quite dark at night; bring a flashlight just in case). For when you want to be connected, the internet service is very good and the TV is fine. While it was a bit cooler outside than we would have liked, we were warm inside. However the HVAC did run continuously on the cold mornings (lower 30's). The HVAC is not super quiet but was not really that bad either. I would definitely recommend arriving in the daylight the first time for 2 reasons 1) the road is steep and winding at times and the driveway is also fairly steep (difficult to see at night) and 2) it was difficult to obtain the key from the lock box due to it's position and the lock box itself was a bit difficult to open. My only con is that garbage removal is the guest's responsibility. When I am vacationing, I just don't want to have to think about it when i am trying to pack up and get on the road. That said, the place to drop it off was nearby and 1 bag only cost us $1 (by weight).
All in all I definitely do recommend this place for a quiet stay and / or a home base for all of the nearby activities. It's perfect for a couple or a family.
Almost forgot, there was a cold pack in the freezer which came in very handy when I twisted an ankle on a hike - nice touch!
Thank you for your review. We will install a motion sensor light by the lock box.
Very secluded and private, but still close to town
Home was very clean. Large back deck had beautiful views of the sunsets
The house was nice. We went to a wedding and stayed 4 days. My complaint is that there were cobwebs throughout the house. Someone was always running into one. There were cobwebs at one the lights over the table and like I said throughout the house. I just felt everything was dusty and just needed to be cleaned. Also at the end of the driveway where you park the cars - there needs to be something there to stop from going to far. When someone comes and don’t know the layout or come in at night and can’t see, you could go to far.
Just a couple of throw outs to look into.
Sorry to hear that you ran into a problem with cobwebs and excessive dust at the house. We have never had any complaints from previous renters regarding the cleanliness of the house. We will look into it.
This quaint little place was just what we were looking for! A nice secluded spot centrally located to town and the bike trails. The house was very clean with everything we needed. Wonderful host/owner.
