HISTORY: Dating back to the 14th century, Torre Collevento is a remarkable historical residence protected by Italian Cultural Heritage. Originally built as a Franciscan convent in the 1400s, it was later transformed into a watchtower in the 1500s by order of Pope Clement, serving as a strategic lookout over Orvieto. Throughout the centuries, its significance grew. In the 17th century, the noble Ravizza family of Orvieto, honored with a noble title by Pope Alexander VII, used the villa as a hunting retreat. To this day, their coat of arms remains proudly displayed on the grand fireplace in the main hall. The nobleman’s original washbasin and bathtub, now protected historical artifacts, are still intact and available for guests to use.
