About George Abraham

My family and I are avid lovers of the great outdoors and passionate about travel, meeting interesting new people, and experiencing all the wonderful thing our world has to offer.

George Abraham purchased this house in 2009

Why George Abraham chose Jamaica

You’ll love our home because of its wonderful, quiet and secluded location on a country lane. A great place for a romantic get-away or a fun filled family vacation.

We purchased the house in 2009 and have been using it exclusively for our family on a year-round basis until this year; we only rent it out when we are not using it for ourselves. Because we use the house regularly it has an extremely well stocked kitchen with all the cooking utensils, spices and flatware you will need (we love to cook!). We recently installed a new and extremely quiet Bosch dishwasher, and the large washing machine is also new. We have been updating the house for the past year - both bathrooms were fully renovated this year and professional landscaping added among other improvements. More improvements will continue to come, some of which have not yet been reflected in the pictures and descriptions.

What makes this house unique

Enjoy the warmth of the fireplace, sitting on the back deck taking in the sun and sounds of the Green Mountains, or lounging in the Adirondack chairs in the front lawn.

One of the things we most love about the house is the solitude, quiet and good environment for deep sleeping.

Located near the top of West Hill Road South, there are only two additional houses further up the road along the half mile past our house; one is rarely occupied and the other is a small working farm (every couple of hours a farm related vehicle will pass by the house). From our back deck you can see one neighbor but they are not particularly close to our home.

Our home is on a maintained and plowed dirt road surrounded on three sides by woods. Across the street on two sides are hundreds if not thousands of acres of woodland; on the third side we own a densely wooded parcel of land that will remain undeveloped. Occasionally a fox, a group of wild turkeys or other small animals will pass by the house.

Out our front door you can walk up the road towards the farm and then follow the road up the hill deep into the woods for a secluded walk, or go exploring in the woods. Kids can use the tire swing at the side of the house.

As the bird flies we are about 4/10th of a mile off route 30, far enough so that there is no road noise, but close enough for easy access to ski areas and state parks.

Wonderful accommodations while enjoying all that Vermont has to offer!

  • 5 of 5

This home is delightful, plenty of room and with everything that you need to make your stay comfortable. And what a fabulous fireplace to cozy up to when your day's adventures are over. Our group was missing two of our regulars for our annual ski weekend so we will all plan to be back next year so that they can enjoy what they missed! George was very responsive and accommodating. It was a pleasure to deal with him! Thanks again for everything. Denise

Everything you are looking for and more!

  • 5 of 5

Almost hesitant to write a review bc I want to keep this gem a secret! The location is perfect! While hidden from the main roads, it's close to everything you need. The beds are sooooo comfortable and I love that it has two king sized beds. This is key when vacationing with two families, no need to flip a coin! It rained during our weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the sunroom or deck as much as we would have liked. I loved how everything was labeled and if we needed something, it was there. George was very responsive and helpful. The house is warm and welcoming. Definitely book this house!

Great home

  • 5 of 5

The owner, George, checked in with me shortly after arriving and again as we were departing offering his assistance with anything. The home was very clean, inviting, and comfortable. It is evident that the owners care about the home. Located on a very quiet country road. Highly recommended. I hope to be back.

Extremely clean and well kept. Had everything we needed or wanted

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very professional and contacted us with appropriate questions and to check on us. They were available to answer questions as needed. The house is very clean, well thought out and outfitted. All we had to bring was our clothes! Its a beautiful house in a great location and worked very well for 2 families. Having two bedrooms with King Size beds makes that easy since many homes only have one King (and then one family is getting the short end of the stick). Highly rated! Just don't book it when we want to return!

Perfect spot for our family Thanksgiving weekend

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for the Thanksgiving weekend, 4 adults & 2 kids (ages 13 & 10). It couldn't have been more perfect & cozy but also big enough for people to sneak off for a nap or a little quiet time. The kitchen was very well stocked with plates, cutlery, glasses, serving pieces, etc., even for a full Thanksgiving feast! The living room was great, with a comfy sectional sofa, throw blankets, a fireplace that gave off great heat & a TV with DVD player. All agreed that the beds were very comfortable, bathrooms clean & fully functional. The property owner was very responsive & helpful from the time of initial contact to when we checked out. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Jamaica, VT!

Our home: Enjoy the warmth of the fireplace, sitting on the back deck taking in the sun and sounds of the Green Mountains, or lounging in the Adirondack chairs in the front lawn.

Guest Access: You will have access to our whole house other than a locked off portion of the basement. We ask that you do not use the garage for your car; however the washer and dryer, as well as the well-seasoned wood pile are located in the garage. Please feel free to access the garage for using the washer/dryer and getting wood for the fireplace

Interaction with Guests: I am always available by cell phone or text message during your stay. Our caretaker, Karen Ameden, is the owner of D&K's Grocery in downtown Jamaica, about 2 miles from our house. We also use a local service for cleaning and house-checking that is available in case of an emergency. Our caretaker's people plow the driveway during the winter, cut the grass during summer, and make sure the house is well maintained.

The Neighborhood: One of the things we most love about the house is the solitude, quiet and good environment for deep sleeping.
